My dad is a spry and active 90 year old. His GF is a very slow 84 year old that has trouble getting around and is late consistently because of it. My son is graduating from a service academy (in a different state) and there will be 4 days of events. lots of crowds, walking, logistics and time commitments. I spoke to my dad and told him of my concerns about bringing his GF. I explained I wanted my attention to be on my son and the events and not have to worry about his GF. I also made it clear that I am not bringing my partner, my son’s dad is not bringing his partner and it’s really only for family. He said he heard me loud and clear and understood my concern. In the meantime he is telling everyone, including my son, that it will be the both of them coming. I feel angry and resentful that he is placing her feelings above mine. He his is a big deal for my son (and me) and that’s where I want my focus to be. Should I let it go and have faith that everything will work out fine? Or should I have a conversation again with my dad?

My school (charter) has this person who comes every year to give PD sessions on things like Classroom Management. Safe to say this person is shady, a lot of us know he got a certain Successful school sued some time ago. It makes me wonder, do Public Schools have outside people observe and "coach" teachers and leaders?

It’s been almost 3 months since he broke up with me. I’ve always gotten over exes within a month; I find it hard to let go of this guy. Broke NC for the first time in my life to send him a Google Doc 2 weeks ago to 1) tell him how hurtful, immature, and irresponsible it was of him to blindside me, 2) apologise for what I thought I did wrong, and 3) tell him I think it’s too early to let go of what we had, that I miss him and would like to try again, & that he was more valuable than my pride.
I’ve thought over it for 2 weeks before sending it, so I don’t regret sending it. I don’t care if I seem desperate, if he decides to share it to his friends, or just not read it at all.
I still wonder if I had done something else, would he have stayed. Maybe if I was prettier, he would’ve stayed. If only I was more extroverted & independent, less dependent on contact & overall less demanding, maybe we’d still be together. Had I just stayed quiet and given him more time and space, would he have stayed? Had I not exploded over the phone, asking what was I to him and corner him, maybe he would’ve still been my boyfriend today.

So to preface the story, I (21M) met and became friends (21F) during a college summer trip. We decided to date for a little while once we returned to school , but with our future life plans, we both agreed it would be better to stay friends instead of risking a messy breakup. Yesterday, she texted me saying she wants us both to move on and stop what little communication we have. She explained she's been super busy and stressed, and needs space after feeling some boundaries were crossed about plans. And I never knew what those boundaries where so I’m just blaming myself thinking if i kept my mouth shut we wouldn’t be here. So should I just go no contact and cut her out of my life forever and really give her the space she is asking for.

I have a couple of IG followers who are old classmates of mine (females). I keep saying them posting videos of other angry women mumbling about patriarchy, misogyny and how men are to be blamed for everything.
My question is why do they posion themselves with hatred? Do they hate all men? Is it a cliche that some lesbians hate men? Or aren't they lesbians at all but they just hate men because they treated them badly?
As gays we've met a lot of assholes, but I haven't met any gay hating other men just because he had bad experience with men.
Is it because they feel that women have been oppressed (or suppressed not sure what's the difference I'm Greece) for generations and they just feel that every living men is responsible for that and they hate them because they are the sons and grandsons of them?
As a man I'm just sick of discussing how women are always having a hard time. Men have a hard time, statistics are devastating and yet this is a woman's world. The center of societies are women. We gays without realizing are just left outside. We're not women, these women support us (usually) because deep down they don't count us for men.
In all sincerity, I want someone to explain me.

Hi everyone, I have a 31 year old student who wants to learn English from the ground up. Her English is extremely limited, basically non-existent, so we've started from scratch with "to be" and basic verbs (have, can). On top of that, she's extremely stressed about speaking in English. The problem is that even this seems too difficult for her and I do not want to discourage her right at the beginning. We've been doing some gap-filling exercises and translating simple sentences, in which she makes progress, but it's definitely too slow and too hard for her. I don't have much experience in teaching and this is by far the most difficult case I've come across. Are there any techniques or methods you could recommend?
