I (25M) work in fine dining where I live for the past year and a half, although I have a lot of gripes and the job sometimes makes me pull my imaginary hair out, I wouldn’t have it any other way. It’s a very CUSHY restaurant job too; 50% off food, easy work for good money, I’m doing everything I can to stay there as long as possible until I finish school and get my dream job. As far as attendance and discipline goes, I keep my nose fairly clean besides the sometimes running late to work or looking unprofessional in the way of wearing my anxiety on my face, bottom line being I don’t get into trouble very often. Today, we were supposed to have a meeting at 12:30pm, and I woke up at 12:35. I slept through 2 alarms that I set the night before to give myself plenty of time to get ready and also grab food otw to work. My boss calls me at 12:35 and as I’m scrambling to get dressed and that I can be there in the next 35 minutes (that’s how far I live from work), my boss says there’s no use due to that they’ll be done by then and that he’d catch me later next week to give me a rundown. I send a follow up text afterwards profusely apologizing and that I can come earlier in the week on my day off, and my boss stated that while he understands and appreciates the apology, I’ve had plenty of notice about the meeting and that it wasn’t fair that my coworkers had to be there and I wasn’t, followed by that we’d discuss it when he’s there on my shift we’ll talk about it as well as the situation for missing a mandatory meeting. I’m not dodging responsibility or accountability for my actions, I even agreed with him that this was inexcusable, but now I’m just worried I’ve jeopardized my job over a mistake. I told my boss I understand the gravity of said situation and that rest assured this won’t be a habit going forward.
I’m just fucking scared, guys. My job is honestly one of the few good things I have going for me besides my family and friends. I’ve already made preparations for how to be better going forward, I even bought a real alarm clock and set it for the same time every day to wake up for work or otherwise. But this job is like the most important thing to me right now; this job helped me find my passion for food, and I don’t wanna lose it due to an embarrassing mistake like this.
TL;DR: I overslept for a work meeting and now I’m on thin ice and I’m scared my life is gonna spiral out of control.

The flavors all meld together, the tomato paste with the couscous, olive oil, onions, spinach, and others, to create something that is really more than the sum of its parts. This recipe also goes very well with yogurt. I have adapted the recipe slightly from Gil Marks's book "Olive Trees and Honey." 8 oz chopped celery (2 cups) 8 oz chopped parsley (2 cups) 8 oz shopped spinach (2 cups) 1/2 cup olive oil 2 onions, chopped 4 cloves of garlic, minced 1/4 cup tomato paste 2 large red bell peppers, seeded, deribbed, and chopped 2 teaspoons sweet paprika 1 and 1/2 teaspoons red pepper flakes 2 teaspoons salt 1 teaspoon fennel seeds 1 and 1/2 teaspoons ground coriander Black pepper to taste 1.5 cups water 2 and 2/3 cups couscous, cooked according to the jar instructions

My speculation is that she would be held at the red center for a month or so before being sent to Paul’s household. If she misses her period, she is tested for pregnancy. If she’s positive, she’s sent back to Peter’s household, has the baby, nurses it, and is only then re-posted. Meantime, another Handmaid is identified for Paul.
Otherwise, there might be some question. Did Cathy get pregnant by Peter at their last Ceremony and deliver at (say) 42 weeks, or did she get pregnant by Paul at their first Ceremony and deliver at 38 weeks?

So I’m looking at a 2020 Toyota Camry SE with 53,000 miles selling OTD with TAX cash for 22300
Or
A 2018 Toyota xse with 91k miles OTD with TAX cash for 21750 and that’s including a 30k powertrain warranty.
My thoughts are the 2020 has less miles, but it has all the necessities you would need for options.
while the 2018 has all the bills and whistles see pic But it has double the miles
I plan to drive this car for 10 years and I put on around 12 to 13,000 a year miles. Both have two owners no accidents no rentals.
2018 has a better maintenance history with no scratches or any kind of dents.
Has a minor scratch on the side side of the bumper can’t see via photo. But all in all very solid car. I’m pretty torn and I can’t make it decision. Any questions/advice please I’m making a decision by Monday. I have a deposit on both. Ty

I’ve applied to almost every trade school and apprenticeship program in the Bay Area, and the silence is deafening. No callbacks, no interviews, nothing. And before anyone jumps in with “maybe your application wasn’t strong enough,” I come with two years of construction experience in roofing and waterproofing. I’ve been working in the trades since I was 15, learning from my grandfather, a handyman who built his reputation through hard work. I know my way around tools, safety protocols, and a job site. Yet here I am, still waiting for a shot.
I can’t help but ask: why does it feel like trade schools and unions are gatekept? Why do Latinos seem to fall short of getting in? Is it the assumption that we don’t speak English well enough? That we can’t communicate effectively? Or that we somehow “don’t belong” in unions?
And here’s where the conversation gets uncomfortable. Trade schools and unions claim to be for the working class, but who’s really getting the opportunities? Are these spaces owned by people who pick and choose who they let in? Because it sure as hell isn’t feeling like an equal opportunity system.
Before anyone gets offended—this isn’t about saying one race works harder than another. It’s about acknowledging that Latinos constantly have to prove themselves ten times over to get half the recognition. Meanwhile, people will act like we’re imagining it.
All I want is for these stereotypes to die out. If we actually worked together instead of gatekeeping the industry, imagine the strength of our communities. But until then, how many more applications do I need to send just to get a damn response?
