Hi everyone,
I’m 16 (almost 17), and I’m in a tough situation with my parents, who are very strict, especially because of their religious beliefs. This summer, I told them I was going to a friend's house, but in reality, we went out with other friends. Of course, they found out, and they were really angry. Yesterday, I got caught again because I came home much later than expected, and they don’t understand why I was out so late if I was supposed to be at a friend’s house in a city nearby. They’re even more suspicious now.
Since then, I’m not allowed to go out at night but right now after getting caught yesterday I cant even ask to hang out with my friends even in the morning-afternoon and they also won’t let me stay over at friends’ houses. They think you can have fun during the day, so there’s no reason for me to be out at night. The thing is, I get where they’re coming from, but at the same time, it really hurts to be invited to things and not be able to go. I’ve always wanted to have a group of friends I could go out with, and now I finally do, but I can’t accept the fact that I’ll have to decline their invitations and miss out on all the fun until I’m 18.
I also know that my parents put a lot of pressure on me because of my grades. My results aren’t as good as my siblings – my older sister was always the “perfect” one, never going out, keeping her room clean, and now she’s in a good uni. My younger brother follows all the rules too, so I end up feeling like I’m not measuring up. I know I have to work harder on my grades to prove that I can be responsible, but I don’t want to miss out on my teenage years completely.
So I’m wondering, how can I show my parents I’m serious about improving and earning their trust back, especially when it comes to going out at night or sleeping at friends' houses? Do you think there’s a way they’ll eventually let me go out with my friends if I improve my grades and prove I can be more responsible? even though I'll still have to lie to them cause I cant tell them I'm going out at nights to go at parties and hang out with boys when I'm not even allowed to have a boyfriend
I know my parents might think I’m just trying to find excuses to go out more, but it really hurts to miss out on these moments. I don’t want to waste my youth.

I studied business during university so I have some understanding. Now, I wasn't a hardworking student but I knew the basics of taxation. This is simplistic explanation but I will help all of you get the picture.
Corporate taxation won't tax millionaires:
There's a problem in the assessment that to tax millionaires you have to tax corporations. As matter of fact corporate taxation harms the small businesses far more. I am in favour of abolishing it. Corporate tax is not the tax on millionaires income or capital gains. It's the tax on corporations themselves. Corporations are legal persons which means they get taxed. The corporate tax works like this, the corporations achieve a certain income then they pay their expenses then they (hopefully) achieve a profit. That corporate profit then get taxed twice. The first time is the corporate tax which is before distributing the profit and is the tax on the corporation itself. The second time which is after distributing the profits where every shareholder gets taxed according to his income of the profits and that is the income tax which function according to the income tax laws. There's some confusion here so I wanted to clear that out.
How millionaires avoid taxation:
Now, to how millionaires avoid taxation. There are two ways. The first one is to either have a proportional taxation or a progressive taxation with slow progression which isn't so different from proportional taxation. A proportional taxation means that everyone rich and poor are taxed at the same percentage. Obviously many people like me view this as unfair since a a working class person getting taxed 20% is not the same as a millionaire getting taxed 20%. That's why they call for progressive taxation. Millionaires have more money therefore can afford getting taxed at higher percentages. Taxing millionaires at higher percentages also means that working class people will be taxed at lower percentages. Politicians who say that higher taxes under progressive taxation will harm working class people are obviously lying and since they are funded by millionaires themselves, I guess this isn't shocking. Those politicians benefit a lot from the ignorance of voters. Now, another way to avoid taxation is through exploiting loopholes in capital gains. When millionaires want to sell their shares, they get taxed by capital gains laws. However they can avoid them by borrowing money and using their shares as collateral. Obviously, this is nothing but fraud and deception but it works. When they can't pay back their debt, their shares get taken. It's like they sold them but without actually selling them.
So there it's. It's simplistic explanation and I am not an expert in taxation but I wanted to share some basics.
