I made another post basically saying I've been away for so long that I feel like I don't know anything, but anyway, got the scope out for cooldown and suppose I'll do some viewing of Venus and Jupiter tonight, and otherwise play around with it. Still can't believe the telrad works with those same old batteries that I forgot to take out. Not only did they not leak, it still turns on.

2024.11.24 22:40 Relative_Hippo_9734 I developed tear troughs after TCA peel, should I do again after 1 1/2 years to remove it?

Ive been using Tretinoin 0.05% for the past month and a half. About 1.5 years ago, I did a TCA chemical peel to address a slight tear trough under one eye. Unfortunately, the healing may not have gone well due to skin movement, and the tear trough reappeared.
Before that, I had done a TCA peel two months earlier, which reduced the tear trough by about 50%. I thought a second peel would completely fix it, but the tear trough came back the same—or possibly worse.
Now, I’ve been using Tretinoin for 2 months (preceded by 3 months of 0.01%) and am considering continuing Tretinoin 0.05% for one more month before doing a 35% TCA peel on the tear trough area to try to improve it.
I’ve also noticed that applying zinc oxide under my eyes reduces the appearance of the tear trough, which makes me wonder if hyperpigmentation from improper healing could be contributing.
Does this sound like a good approach?

2024.11.24 22:40 ezfunperson26 The Precursors must be the dumbest sentient lifeforms in the universe

Obligatory spoiler warning, and disclaimer I haven't played Below Zero yet so my knowledge about the precursor alien race may be outdated. However, I am of the opinion that the Precursors are absolute idiots.
First of all, these doofuses brought the deadly Kharaa bacteria to who-knows-how-many planets in an attempt to find a cure. Are you telling me than an advanced alien race that is capable of creating infinite energy and instant teleportation cannot synthesize a vaccine to save their species? Sure, they were able to just barely create a temporary solution to sustain life on 4546b, but after enough time the planet would likely succumb to the virus.
Instead it's up to Riley to cure it, a normal human engineer who is scared half to death and is likely suffering from a concussion after hitting his head and crash-landing from the Aurora. And he is only doing this to escape the planet unharmed, not out of any grand plan to cure his species.
Speaking of Riley, he had the wherewithal to work with the Sea Emperor instead of subjecting her and her offspring to experiments like the Precursors did. And it's hilarious that a comparatively primitive life-form like Riley is able/willing to communicate telepathically with the Sea Emperor when the Precursors were either unable or unwilling to.
And then there's the destruction of the research station. These geniuses are able to construct a giant gun to quarantine the planet (which doesn't even work properly because it actively shoots things that haven't even come in contact with the Kharaa bacteria), but they're unable to craft any defences against the potential fauna that may harm them in the water? Like, I don't know, maybe it's prudent to protect your valuable research with a forcefield or a weapon of some kind. But no, a pissed-off Sea Dragon was able to destroy any hope for a cure for their species because it wanted its offspring back. Who knew a huge-ass Leviathan would be protective of its young?
I'm sure there's more examples that showcase the Precursors' ineptitude; this is all I can remember from my playthrough. And this post isn't meant to rag on the narrative team, I actually think they did an amazing job at crafting the story for this game. I just chuckle at how smart but how stupid the Precursors were before they presumably went extinct.

Ciao a tutti, ho comprato una dashcam della garmin (Mini2) che a quanto ho capito è prova di batteria. Ho quindi la necessità di tenerla sempre alimentata.
La mia macchina dispone sia di presa USB che accendisigari, ma sono aentrambe collocate nel tunnel centrale tra guidatore e passeggero (prima del freno a mano per intenderci). Vorrei evitare però fili che penzolano nell’abitacolo.
La mia idea è quindi quella di prelevare la corrente dal tettuccio, per esempio dal cavo che alimenta la lampadina oppure da uno dei cavi che alimenta quella inutile funzione del wifi di bordo che nessuno ha richiesto e che la Opel ha pensato di mettere nella macchina gratis.
Secondo voi è fattibile come idea? La macchina è a 12V che io sappia, mentre l’USB è a 5V quindi immagino che mi servirà mettere in serie anche un trasformatore.
Qualcuno ha fatto qualcosa di simile o ha idee migliori su come risolvere la situazione? Non ci credo che andate tutti in giro con i cavi penzoloni nell’abitacolo dai….

2024.11.24 22:40 clappedchick3n My Razer Blade 17 (2022)'s GPU is performing way worse than expected?

I don't really know much about hardware, so apologies if this is just expected performance for my setup, but I thought I had a pretty decent laptop - so I was confused since I can't seem to run fairly regular games at a playable framerate.
Here are my specs:

Razer Blade 17 (2022): RZ09-0423
- Processor: Intel Core i7-12800H @ 2.4GHz
- Memory: 32 GB RAM
- Integrated Graphics: Intel Iris Xe Graphics G7 96EU
- Dedicated Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti (notebook)

I'm decently sure I'm not using my integrated graphics for any games, and am instead using the dedicated NVIDIA GPU (I set it both on the System > Display > Graphics options to use the "High performance" option; and also on the NVIDIA control panel)

Most recently, I've had this problem with Star Wars Outlaws, which is a newer game, but even on lowest settings I have below 20 fps at any time - which seems really bad given my hardware meets the recommended requirements for the game (it surpasses the minimum easily I think?).

- Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X @ 3.7 GHz, Intel Core i5-10400 @ 2.9 GHz, or better
- Memory: 16 GB RAM
- Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti (8 GB), AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT (12 GB) or better

Likewise with God of War Ragnarok: again admittedly a demanding game, but even on lowest settings, I can't get a playable framerate - even though my laptop specs outperform the recommended options on the steam store page?

Recommended
- Processor: Intel i5-8600 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600
- Memory: 16 GB RAM
- Graphics: NVIDIA RTX 2060 Super or AMD RX 5700 or Intel Arc A770

I've also encountered similar frame problems on games like Overwatch 2, Valorant, Gotham Knights, or (modded) Minecraft,
So yeah, if anyone knows what I'm doing wrong I'd appreciate the help :))
