2024.11.25 17:29 Therion596 Brake seized up on me this morning.
I just got my truck two weeks ago, 2021 TRD OR with 30k miles. Took it on a hunting trip this weekend, did some good muddy 4-wheeling, no problems.
Got it home yesterday and hosed off the mud then drove through a carwash to clean her up, drove about 1/4 mile home with a brief stop at the grocery store in the middle.
Parked on a level street in southern California, temperatures didn't get below 50 last night. I am in the habit of parking with the emergency brake on because I'm used to driving manuals, the truck is automatic
Hopped in to take my dog to the vet this morning, and the truck wouldn't drive. It was behaving like the parking brake was engaged. I re-actuated it several times, tried 4 high, no dice. I put it in neutral and rocked it back and forth as hard as I could for a minute, no dice.
Then restarted the truck again and it worked for some reason.
Anyway, this was very very disconcerting.
Why did this happen? Is it going to happen again? How can I prevent it?
Googling this caused me grave concerns.

So I noticed something about Glinda’s magic bubble.
Not sure if anyone else picked up on this, but whenever Glinda is getting ready to take off on her bubble (after No One Mourns the Wicked), she does something that made me feel like her magic might not be real. Before the bubble forms, she lifts her dress slightly, looks at the bottom of the bubble cart, and then steps on something to make the bubble appear. This makes me think that her “magic” might just be another trick from the Wizard.
Glinda’s “magic” seems to rely more on her bubbly personality and charm rather than any actual magical ability.
Even in the musical, Glinda’s magic is mostly implied. Meanwhile, Elphaba’s magic is real, and we actually get to see her do incredible things. In the stage musical, during No One Mourns the Wicked, Glinda comes flying down on her “magic” bubble, but it looks more like the time hand of the Dragon Clock rather than something truly magical.
Obviously, they can’t make a real magic bubble for the stage, but this could fit with the theory that the bubble is just another contraption created by the Wizard.
Why would the Wizard and Madame Morrible give Glinda a false sense of power? Because they need someone to act as their public face. That’s where Glinda “the Good” comes in. She’s the perfect distraction—her charm keeps the citizens of Oz happy and makes them feel protected from Elphaba, the “Wicked Witch.”
Meanwhile, Madame Morrible and the Wizard can continue doing all the evil stuff they want and blame Elphaba for it. No one would ever suspect them of being evil because Glinda the Good is on their side.

Just found out we lost one of our friends Friday at the dialysis center. Tech said she had a heart attack due to too much fluid intake over time. I had already experienced how it feels when you have too much fluid on you and it just scared me witless as to how much damage can be done when we don't pay heed to the warnings. I barely want to take a sip now hearing about what happened. She was such a sweet lady and will be missed dearly

Hey folks! I’m 38M, 6-6, and 290. I’d like to get down to around 240-250 and I really enjoy walking. I know I need to clean up my diet a lot, but for exercise I love walking (and rucking).
I’m curious what’s possible with ONLY walking/rucking and cleaning up diet.
Can anyone share some before and after pics of your progress using only walking and diet? No yoga or weight training at all. Literally just walking.
I’m very curious what a person can achieve using walking as their only means of exercising.
