Il laisse dans le deuil :
son fils : Patrick (Nancy Lirette);
son petit-fils : Dylan (Flavie Mathieu);
ses soeurs : Colette (feu Gérald Dupuis), Fleurette (feu Albini Leblanc), Hélène (feu Gilles Côté), Diane (Michel Dumais), Johanne (Sylvain Charbonneau), Doris (Gaston Gill) et feu Lise (Feu Martin Gagné);
et sans oublier son ex-conjointe, Maureen Labelle.
Il laisse également dans le deuil de nombreux neveux, nièces, cousins, cousines, autres parents et amis.
Un merci spécial à l'équipe du troisième étage du Centre d'hébergement du Sacré-Coeur pour les bons soins prodigués.
Une visite de condoléances aura lieu le 14 décembre de 14h à 15h30, au Salon funéraire Funera, situé au 8967, 1re Avenue, Québec, G1G 4C5. Une liturgie de la parole se déroulera, au même endroit, à 15h30.

Hello, brilliant physics people! I’m working on a steampunk/greenpunk story collection and was wondering: about how large would a hydrogen blimp need to be to carry its essential crew (let’s say 5 people, assuming a generous 84 kg each for 420 kg), about a school bus full of passengers (let’s say 50 seats, approx. 4200 kg), and the people’s luggage (let’s be kinder than commercial airlines and say two bags come with each ticket, lol, at 8 kg per bag that’s a maximum of 800 kg)? How much gas would they need to be buoyant with a weight of around 6500 kg? How many cubic feet of blimp volume would that require?
Note: The kg estimates come from what the FAA assumes, and I rounded up to try and account for the aluminum skeleton of the ship, seats, etc.
The Hindenberg carried up to 11,000 kg, it was massive, but it was also basically a cruise ship— carrying around a full bar, elevators, a grand piano, you name it. I’m wondering what the scale would be like for dirigibles that function more like a convenient day train (over a hostile environment where trains are not a possibility). Thanks for any insight, and thanks for entertaining my conundrum!

I just got back from my ENT office, and the audiologist pointed out a 5-decibel drop in my hearing at the 4000 and 6000 Hz range in my good ear. It’s still above normal, but it’s enough to make me pay attention. She said my earbuds might be part of the problem and recommended switching to bone-conducting headphones.
I’ve used bone-conducting headphones before (Aftershokz), but I always felt like I needed to crank the volume way up to compensate for my open ears. I mentioned this concern, and she said that even at higher volumes, bone-conducting headphones are safer because they bypass the eardrum and middle ear, and don't give as much pressure. She said over the ear headphones will have the same problem. She even suggested looking for models that sit behind the ear for added safety.
Anecdotaly she said the local sheriff's department switched from the shoulder radio to binder conducting precisely for this reason.
Does anyone have experience with bone-conducting headphones for hearing health? Have you found them effective without blasting the volume? Are there specific models or brands that work particularly well? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
