2024.11.25 21:49 C_hase I have the absolute worst luck trying to get a Job with T-Mobile.
At my current job I have found love in helping our guests solve their problems and particularly doing cellular activations. However in recent years my current employer has drastically transitioned workload from guest experience to how much manual labor you can do, with only measly 3 cent raises every year.
A wireless sales job was the obvious next step for me, seeing my nearest ATT store be in the center of a dead zone, and a previous interview with Cellular Sales of Verizon requiring a drivers license and a car, (despite their store being quite literally outside my house,) T-Mobile seemed like the goldilocks of jobs.
Within a walkable distance of me I have a Authorized Retailer for T-Mobile owned by GP Mobile. I decided to apply, but after a few months of absolutely no response, I decide to follow up with them via email. A few weeks later I did eventually get an invite for an interview.
I took this interview but something was off. I inquired about the location and it turns out this interview was for a completely different location that I did not apply for. I politely declined. There was a corporate store almost right next to the GP Mobile, and if I was going to Uber that far I might as well go to a corporate store. I asked them about the original store I applied for, and they said that there is no position open for that store.
That is weird though, because there is still a position open for it on the website? Over many months I decided to pop in to my local GP Mobile and ask the manager if any positions became available. Every time they declined, even with a position open on their website, (which to this day is still up.) Every time I visited it just kept raising the red flags higher.
Seeing that a further away store might be my only option, I decided to apply for the corporate location next to the GP Mobile. Completed two interviews, and between the third interview they called me to tell me that an internal transfer took the position.
I waited for a few months for a position to open again, on my second application they called to tell me that T-Mobile removed the position as they were cutting hours. I waited a few more months for another position, now this third application they called me to tell me that the store is converting to an Experience Store, and that they could no longer hire externally.
I am completely devastated, I feel like there is absolutely no other job that I would have enjoyed. I did so much research and knew that I would excel.

2024.11.25 21:49 Good-Dimension-4360 My Boss is a complete asshole and throws a tantrum like a 4 yr old when he doesn't get his way.
So, let's start this story/rant with a little background:
I've worked at this same restaurant for 8.5 yrs. I started from the bottom in the dishpit and worked my way to the top. I run the kitchen now, have a culinary degree, worked in food and bev. for 22yrs, the last 12 have been in fine dining. This job pays me very well otherwise I would have been out of there years ago. However, a three min commute and a place to have my elderly mother do prep is also another bonus.
My Boss, does not care for my mother working there. Reminds him of his mother, and talks shit about her any time she's working.
Fast forward today, having a great day. Prep smooth, lunch service smooth, and in comes my boss. He makes a comment about how happy he is with the amount of staff we have on, the only thing missing that would make it better would be a (Sara -changed her name for the rant), Mr. Magoo-ing it up and he could do that if I wanted.
I replied with a "Sure, if you want to..."
To which he asked if I was pissed. I told him yeah, but what I think about it doesn't matter.
This little child of a man then says, "That's it I'm closing down." Everyone go home then walks to the front to make it happen. I honestly think that's stupid, and so does everyone else in the kitchen so we just keep working prepping and copking orders. When he comes back he gets me replaced on the line and tells me to leave for the day. So I say fine, start to leave. He asked if I work tonight and I say" No sir I do not." As I make my way to clock out. He said okay just take the week off.
This mfer then calls my mother about an hour later and askes if she's like the week off too.
This job is only shitty because of that man. The other restaurant owner has no idea because this guy blows smoke up his ass about what really is going on there.

I have every button working except for select (not sure if turbo works to be honest)
On my raspberry pi running RGB-pi, it asks immediately upon boot to do button mapping. I have continuity between ground and select when the button is pressed but I don't get anything when I need to map it. I still need to try on PC to know for sure, but I'm curious if anybody else has had this happen. I haven't updated firmware but I certainly will do that because I'm not sure if it supports the switch out of the box

So basically I got diagnosed with hypothyroidism when I was around 9 or 10 I got constant blood tests taken and was on meds for about 2 year till I was twelve and thankfully my hypothyroidism 'went away'. I became very overweight during the time I had thyroid disorder and was around 56 kg at 11 and now I'm 17 and weigh 47. I had hypothyroidism before I hit puberty so I wonder if that the reason I lost weight because I didn't work out or anything.now ever since I've gotten my blood tests done for hypothyroidism done maybe three times,the most recent of which was around 9-12 months ago and my thyroid levels seem to be normal. I wanted to ask if this is possible cuz I recently came across an article saying hypothyroidism is a lifelong disorder but mine just seemed to go away. I would also like to mention around 6 months ago I got diagnosed with a vitamin d deficiency now I do definitely know I did have thyroid when I was 11 because I got test done regularly and it was most definitely throid but idk I read smtjn about a link. Sorry if this is all over the place.

This Mai Tai was so good after a long time… Good rum, good Orgeat, my clear ice and a cold glass. The best drink to destress. P.S. Im a home bartender. No photographer, no bartender. The pics are awful but the drink is what mattered the most xD I also forgot my saline solution in the pics. But 3-4 drops do really make a difference. I’m a simple man.
