Ich habe es irgendwie geschafft, dass ein Arbeitskollege, der privat gerne an Autos bastelt, sich mal mein Auto anschaut. (Viel zu hoher Kostenvoranschlag von bisheriger Werkstatt) Wenn ich am Wochenende zu seiner Garage fahre, bringe ich direkt was mit? Und wenn ja was? Was gehört sich da so? Oder soll ich erstmal schauen was er dazu sagt und was er dann dafür haben will? Wie verhält man sich in so einer Situation? Oder frage ich ihn am besten vorher noch einmal? (Ich habe es nicht so mit Menschen und lebe sehr zurückgezogen)

Considering getting an English bulldog after the loss of my frenchie.
I have one dog already but feel he is lonely now. The frenchie I lost shed a lot, like an astronomical amount. My washing machine is ruined as are a lot of my clothes, I felt unable to invite people over as the amount of dog hair was too much despite constant vacuuming (I have another frenchie who sheds a normal amount) and he was reactive and had a lot of allergies. He also refused to hold his pee overnight so I had to wash his bedding every single day. All round a problem dog!
That being said he was my angel and I miss him terribly. He was such a special and funny little character. It was emotionally and mentally gruelling towards the end. There is a part of me that needs peace to process and a lightened work load after the exhaustion. There were a lot of meds to administer and vet trips. It’s tough though as despite all that, they leave behind a huge hole. We are grieving this emptiness.
I had seen a young rescue English bulldog and would really like some honest takes on having an English bulldog, especially if anyone has a rescue. Do they shed a lot? Are they a lot of work? Are they generally okay around kids/ dogs? Do they trash the house ? (I know much of this depends on the dog). I’ve never had a rescue before either so feel a bit unsure.

I feel like this statement is true even amongst the high achieving students at UofT. I've met tonnes of students who had objectively high GPA's but still lower than what I thought was rightful for them.
For instance, I have this one friend. I thought his GPA would be in the 3.9s, but it's at mid-3.7 (which is of course very respectable, but not reflective of his intelligence). Another classmade also has a mid-3.8 when I thought he would be well above 3.9. Even for a friend of mine in the 3.9 range I thought his GPA would be in the high-3.9 but is in fact in the mid-3.9.
Another friend of mine whose intelligence I sincerely admire didn't even have high distinction upon graduation (which was very surprising, NGL).
Don't let GPA define your intelligence. You're all smarter than your GPA says about you.

I know $SMH buts that's semiconductors with the growth being AI chip plays.
Any help or insight or suggestions are helpful.
It's to hard to try and own everything especially the stock prices. - Astera Labs - Nvidia - ARM (ADR) - SMH$ for semiconductors
- emerging stuff like AISoun $SOUN Applied Digital APLD
- and stuff that can be added in the future if IPOs happen like Cologix (I believe it's building that huge data center in Nevada for Amazon web solutions)

Haven't posted here in a while but I've got a new story! This one just happened today, but the buildup has been for about two months now. We're sent holiday staffing surveys to cover upcoming holidays, and being a good little worker bee I volunteered for two four hour time frames, and did not volunteer for an eight hour time frame that covered both of them.
First, I never received an email when they chose who'd be working Thanskgiving. I assumed I was home free.
Come today, I check my schedule just in case and see that I've got an eight hour shift on Thanksgiving when I specifically answered I'd only work 4 hour shifts for Thanksgiving. I bring this up with my manager to ask what's going on there, and she has me comb through my email (reasonable) and gets with our Workforce Management to see what's going on. It turns out they gave me two of the 4 hour shifts to combine to that 8 hour shift. I never volunteered for the 8 hour shift, but they decided to give me both shifts. I did raise a little fuss about this, was told that it "didn't look good" and that they had to find someone else to cover, but the Workforce Management team never emailed me or else I would've gotten this straightened up much sooner.
Regardless, manager got it fixed and I'm working the half shift I volunteered for on Thursday but I'm not super appreciative of how I was given a little guilt tripping over establishing some boundaries, asked for a justification as to why I only volunteered for the 4 hour shifts and most importantly told it 'looked bad'. Like, damn, I'm sorry I volunteered for a 4 hour shift and the Workforce Management team saw fit to give me both 4 hour shifts to get an 8 hour shift? Not doing that anymore, I guess.

Played for about 2 hours today at the jello table. Despite pulling about a 75% winrate, I only gained enough bubs to compete at the next table ONCE, since every game ends in a retreat after turn 4 or 5 (which also just leads to lower quality matches). I subsequently lost at the next table and dropped an hours worth of progress. All the while, my reward track had progressed only a sliver.
This mode lures you in with the prospect of a free new card and easy rewards in the beginning. The idea is, once you've committed the time, you're much more likely to continue grinding to get the top rewards. Knowing this, SD of course makes the grind more and more tedious the more bubs you obtain.
Deadpool's Diner exists for one reason: lock players into a horrible grind and hope that they can empty the wallets of frustrated players who've just lost hours worth of progress to one Alioth, one Cosmo, one Shang-Chi, etc. The fact it costs $10 of gold just to attempt the next table is ridiculous.
I understand monetary decisions often come from people outside of the development team. But it seems like this mode has been carefully engineered to do nothing but produce as much money as possible for as little effort. I mean, it's not even new content. It's literally just the base game with some new art.
Here's to hoping this mode never returns, but the fact it ever existed gives me little faith in the future of this game.

It ties into my larger story Bloodless and Numb (which takes place in present time) about a Mentiphage parasite that hibernates under ground for 80 some odd years and then emerges, turning people into bloodthirsty insects. Anyway, my short is a prequel. It takes place in the same town but in 1940. It follows a new pastor and his bride that move to a small town in rural Illinois to run a church. They come in contact with the parasite and this shows, what in my larger novel, is called The Great Purge of 1940. I’m following this sub because I have written horror before, I haven’t tried extreme horror. I’ve read a few and think it’s gross fun. However, I saw a thread on here the other day of people asking about extreme horror without sexual assault. I have no plans to use that in my story. Never liked reading it and don’t really care to write it. I want to see what other things people deem off limits. Since I’m new to the genre, I figured I would ask it here. Any response would be appreciated.
