She's a golden retriever x cocker spaniel (8 months), she is quite small (slightly larger than a big jack russel) and got desexed less than a week ago. She is VERY high energy always has been, and tbh we thought the discomfort from the surgery might prevent her from doing insane zoomies, jumping on everything etc. at least for a couple of days, but by day two post op and she is worse than before because she's so bored and we won't play rough with her. It's also 32 degrees Celsius outside and we're keeping her in air conditioning, but today when I let her outside to pee, she would not stop playing out there until I raised my voice at her to go in because of how hard she was panting. I genuinely think she would've died of heat exhaustion if I'd let her. My parents, the past few days, have been bringing her upstairs because they cannot be bothered to just watch TV down here. Yesterday she jumped over the barrier they put up and ran down the very large flight of stone stairs. Today, after the first time she went outside, she had one spit up and ate it after, which isnt super abnormal for her bc she scarfs down food. I just didn't let her out for as long after. After the second time I had to coerce her inside, she threw up quite a bit for her size, twice, and it was green. She has not been outside since and is now sleeping. I think its the overactivity after a major abdominal surgery combined with the heat that's doing this however it's hard to top her from being so crazy and active. Is there anything I can do to get her to calm down? Can she be mildly sedated until she heals or something? I just don't want her to hurt herself or make herself sick again.

not sure if i have selective mutism or just severely quiet.
this all started back in 2021 when i was 13 years old. me and my mom got into some random argument that i dont remember about which eventually led to me being grounded for a short period of time. i was bored so i decided to read one of my books that i had, and she sent my brother to take it away from me. that made me extremely angry. so i decided that i would spend my entire life never speaking to them ever again. and so days went on and i only spoke to them if they asked me a question.
flash forward to todays time, where i talk to absolutely nobody unless they asked me a question, stranger or family. any response they get from me is mainly "yes" or "no". i feel a sense of laziness to form a long sentence when speaking to someone, so i decide to keep my words as short as possible.
i also dont really feel like talking at all. not because of anxiety (though i am shy), but i just feel annoyed whenever i have to talk to anyone, ive also thought about if i have autism but i never gotten a diagnosis, so i wouldnt really know.

What is with the dozens and dozens of posts of people complaining about being lonely, everyone being mean, or there being too many cliches that they feel excluded etc. People, you are adults! If you want to make friends, go talk to someone. Most people are introverts at University, which means they won't approach you but they won't be mean if you approach them(most of the time unless they are really busy). Go outside, touch grass and communicate. It's not that hard (coming from a hermet.)
I get the academic struggle posts because it is exam season. I admit to posting something about academic struggles. But come on, it is exam season. Focus on your studies now and then worry about loneliness and socializing after the winter break.

2024.11.27 04:40 Adept_Philosophy_265 âFriendsâ planned a part in front of me at lunch and invited my brother (not me).
This was a ways back when I was in high school. I had a block schedule and had lunch super early in a period that most of my better friends didnât have lunch. So, myself and two of my other friends decided to sit with these four other girls from our class who we got along with ok. Over the course of 2-3 months of school, we ate with them everyday, and I started to consider myself their friend.
Halloween came around, and the girls who we were sitting with started not so subtly planning their annual Halloween party at lunch. This was not a small party (probably 25 or so guests, which was pretty big for my tiny school), and they were not subtle about coordinating it.
Anyways, every day they talked about it, it became more and more apparent that we were not invited. Donât get me wrong - I totally get having separate groups of friends and not wanting the girls you eat lunch with to come to your party - but something about them loudly planning it and not inviting us felt wrong. It felt like I was eating lunch with Regina from mean girls, as they were very smart and popular and friendly with the teachers but found the idea of including us in their plans laughable. Then, I found out they invited my brother, who they definitely didnât talk to that much. I think one of them had a crush on him or something.
I ended up telling my brother about the fact that they had planned this party in front of us and then openly excluded us and he didnât want to go. But, why avoid when you can get petty revenge, right?
At school the next Monday, I brought candy for the whole table, and casually said â[brotherâs name] had a really good time at your party this weekend! He said it was fun. Thanks for inviting him.â And then carried on with talking with my friends. You would have thought I took a crap on the table. I still laugh thinking about it to this day. May have not been the biggest revenge strike, but I like to think it did the trick
