2024.11.27 18:40 Villhunting F1 / Stem OPT holder paying Social Security & Medicare Taxes?
Hi All,
I arrived in the US August 2019 to start my MBA and started working late 2021 under the OPT status. Up until August this year I’ve been under the 5 year threshold but notice that my employer has been withholding both social security and Medicare taxes for the past 3+ years.
1) is this right? Should I be getting taxed for this while I’m just on OPT? 2) Anyone been in this situation or heard of this situation, in which they’ve already filed the taxes for previous years and never got a refund for this from IRS. What was done about this?
Would really appreciate some advice here. Thank you

Hi electric metal wizards. I’m trying to make a list of items I need to electroplate some 3D prints I made. They aren’t huge but they aren’t small. Largest part is roughly 4X3X2 inches. I’m using abs filament and combining India ink and graphite powder for the paint. I saw a tutorial on how to make and it seemed effective. I also was wondering what the formula was for calculating the correct voltage and amperage in comparison to the surface area. If anyone has any tips or tricks please let me know… or product suggestions.

2024.11.27 18:40 Alexayourcookie I'm having some problems with a form
Hello! This is very simple to solve, I know it, but I'm trying for a few days in a row and I can't identify the error, I arrived here on January 22nd and applied for a study and work permit in March, the documents were late so I wasn't able to start my studies and also not able to work because that OWP is linked with the study permit. Those documents are gonna be revoked soon (in two months more or less) and I'm just changing my status from permit holder to tourist again, is that what I need to do if I want to maintain an status here right? I'm also gonna start doing the sponsorship process very soon but I need to extend my stay here the form I'm not being able to submit is the Imm5708 there's a problem with the dates and I don't have any idea of how solve that :(
The error message is:
"The form could not be submitted because errors were find. Your status expiry date in the answer you provided previously does not correspond to the restoration in your form, modify your answers of the value in the form".
Can anyone please tell me the correct dates I need to put? My permits are valid until August 2027 but I tried everything I know already so I'm stuck in that last form. :(

So This is a bit of a longer story. It all starts back with me having a crush on this one person, right? Back then, I was too shy to ask her out in person, so I asked my friend to see if she has any interest. Apparently, he asked HER friend, and he apparently said that I was like a stalker to her and I should stay away from her, which was odd, since me and her friend were on good terms up to that point. Cuz of that, I decided to quit theater to have no interactions with her. Three years later, I talked with her friend during the summer, and he told me what happened that day WASN’T TRUE. The reason I talked to him about it was since I found it odd that her mom greets me well without any animosity (she might be acting, who knows?). Apparently, it was just that she didn’t know me too much so she couldn’t make a judgement on me just yet (cuz I just transferred to that school). So because of my so called “friend” (who left my school btw 3 years back), he gaslit me into thinking she hated me, and I looked like a complete ass trying to stay away from her (ALSO QUIT THEATER, mind you). Now things are much different. I realized my mom and her mom seems to be (from my POV) “pretty good friends,” as she tells my mom some things (my brother is now in theater). My mom revealed to me that she is a big introvert, and that she is pretty shy (which might be the reason why she didn't want to talk freshman year). Furthermore, she is now in my English class, and it seems like each time I look at her, she is already staring at me. Feels like that in Lunch too...
What do I do (cuz I absolutely have interest, but…)? If you give me questions on things that weren't clear, please ask me, and I can happily answer! (things that don't break privacy)

Pneumonia?
31 year old female 4’11 105lbs Blood pressure medication, plaquanil and adderal are my everyday medications
I’ve had uncontrolled blood pressure for a few years but a ton of other things going on this past year. Currently working on a mixed connective tissue disease diagnosis
My cardiologist ordered a pet scan to see if my endocrine system was causing blood pressure issues. When I was injected with the radioactive stuff my chest started hurting really bad at the bottom but was coming in waves while I sat for an hour. Then it was on/off hurting while doing the scan and I was pouring sweat and i know I should have said something to the techs but I didn’t. My results say something about pneumonia in my lungs but I’m not sick at all. Is that possible? I saw a pulmonologist less than a week ago and checked out fine because I have horrible shortness of breath and have for the past year. Can pneumonia be present and not know??

I just finished Portal 1/2 and the Titanfall 2 campaign, and I'm looking for recommendations for what to play next.
I don't have a particular type of game I'm looking for, but I really enjoyed the game design and dialogues and storyline for the Portal games. Titanfall 2 was also really fun to play with its movements and the fact that you can pilot a giant mech. I also liked BT.
One unfortunate thing to know is that I have problems with staying interested in one thing for very long, so if the game is too long or has a big open world with too many distractions I have a tendency to drop it (not completely, but I end up procrastinating playing it because it feels like a chore, and after too long it feels like it's been too long to continue it and I should start over). I played Elden Ring for about 30 hours before this happened (even though I really enjoyed it).

Ich konnte kein passendes Sub finden, ich denke aber dass ich hier gut aufgehoben bin.
Seit heute darf ich meine Förderung für meine Wärmepumpe nachweisen, nun ist mir aber folgendes aufgefallen. Ich habe eine Rechnung vom 10.05.2024, meinen Basis- und Zusatzantrag habe ich jedoch erst am 28.05.2024 gestellt. Der Rechnungsbetrag beträgt lediglich ~300€, das war nur ein wenig Elektromaterial. Prinzipiell konnte man dieses Jahr bis September den Förderantrag NACH Vorhabensbeginn stellen, doch wie sieht das mit der ersten Rechnung aus?
Die Rechnung ist nur von einem Onlineshop, das Zeug habe ich selbst verbaut. Sollte ich diese Rechnung mit einreichen und im Zweifel streicht der Prüfer diese einfach, gefährde ich damit meine gesamte Förderung, oder auf die 300€ bzw. die darauf anfallende Förderung generell verzichten?
Auch habe ich noch 2 Heizkörper selbst bestellt und getauscht, kann ich dafür einfach die Rechnung einreichen, oder brauche ich für den fachgerechten Einbau die Bestätigung meines Heizungsbauers?
Im Zweifel frage ich morgen früh direkt mal bei der KfW nach.
