 | Investigators with the York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit have charged three men after a home invasion that occurred on September 5, 2024, in the City of Markham. On Thursday, September 5, 2024, at approximately 3 a.m., police were called to a residence in the area of The Bridle Walk and Castlemore Avenue for a home invasion. The victim called police after three suspects forced their way into the home, armed with a hammer, while demanding their vehicle keys. A fourth suspect, believed to be the driver, remained in the suspect vehicle. Two of the suspects fled in the victim’s vehicle while the remaining two suspects fled in the suspect vehicle, described as a dark, four-door sedan. There were four adults and two children in the home at the time of the incident. There were no injuries. On Tuesday, November 26, 2024, with the assistance of the York Regional Police Emergency Response Unit, investigators executed three search warrants at residences in the City of Toronto. As a result of these warrants, three men were charged with numerous offences. Three stolen vehicles were recovered during the investigation. The fourth suspect remains outstanding. Of the three men charged, Tremaine Anthony CLARKE, 32, of Toronto, was out on two separate release orders for unrelated charges. Khowaja SEDDIQI, 22, of Toronto, has been linked to a previous home invasion that occurred In October 2024 in Richmond Hill. Investigators believe the three men may be involved in other similar incidents. “I am proud of the hard work and dedication our investigators continue to display in solving these violent crimes. Hello everyone I’m an E5 in the USAF, I recently got approved for SkillBridge and I’m wondering if anybody had issues with taking leave before SkillBridge. I know for people separating we aren’t entitled to any house hunting leave and I’m curious to know if there would be an issue trying to schedule my final out before I take leave en route to my home of record. I have heard that I would have to go back to my duty station before my PTDY starts, however DAFI 36-3003 under rule 23 states “Ordinary and terminal leave may be used in conjunction with SkillBridge TDY”. This was just added into the AFI 07 August. Please let me know your thoughts.

 | SAN KIM SEAN The Bokator was unknown in Cambodia until 1990 when San Kim Sean returned from the United States to Phnom Penh in Cambodia as a rescued (inventor) of the Bokator. Who is San Kim Sean? San Kim Sean left Cambodia for the refugee camp of Khao-I-Dang in Thailand in 1979 on September 29, 1980 he left Thailand and lived in the refugee camp in Houston in the United States later in the year 1984 he was lived in Long Beach, California. He was a Hapkido Professor at the academy in the USA. He taught Hapkido for ten years in the US without any highlights he was just another Hapkido teacher. But when he returned from the US to Cambodia in 1990 he "recreated" using traditional Khmer boxing as a base and using the name of a supposedly Khmer legend from the Angkorian period to name his new fighting style the Bokator this all with feelings anti-Thai and radical nationalism. He created the Bokator Academy Academy, created the Bokator Federation and even a restaurant, the San Kim Sean Kun Bokator Restaurant Club located on Abacus Lane in Siem Reap. But San Kim Sean only had recognition of his style in Cambodia in 2001 when he was recognized by the government of Cambodia. San Kim Sean teaching Hap Ki Do in the US had never spoken Bokator while living in the US San Kim Sean teaching Hap Ki Do in the US Sean Kim San, in his official Hapkido costume, shortly before the launch of the Bokator movement Sean Kim San, in his official Hapkido and Bokator costume THE INFLUENCE OF MUAY BORAN IN CAMBODIA These photos were taken by French photographer Lucienne Delmas in Battambang, Cambodia in the year 1920 and are kept at the Musée de l'Homme in Paris, France. Battambang is a place known for fighting in Cambodia was a Thai province for centuries until 1907. But Battambang was an area ruled by Siam for many years and it had a great influence of Muay Boran fighting for almost 100 years. That's why we see in this photo Cambodian fighters dressed like Muay Boran fighters with Monkong, Prajied, groin protector like the Thais used at the time. Now, it should be noted that the Khmer people were an Indianized population. Khmer culture has much in common with that of the South Indian Tamils. Several martial arts were born in Tamil-occupied territories, most notably: Varmakalai (Adimurai is the fighting part of Varmakalai) resemble not only Khmer fights but also many other fights in Southeast Asia. Indian armed combat further resembles Southeast Asian martial arts such as Yuthakun Khmer Khom and Krabi Krabong. We can say that Khmer culture influenced Thai struggles is an unquestionable fact. As we can also say that Thai struggles influenced Khmer culture. Now to say that the Thais copied the Khmer fight or that Bokator is the father of Muaythai pure speculation without historical, documentary evidence and fact that comes to prove this. Khmer struggles derive from South India. This in itself demonstrates that it was not exclusive to the Khmer. However, Thai martial arts do not just come from Indian martial arts, their development is a bit more complex. Also Thai fights have influence from the south of India and partly from the Chinese of the Tais. The very development of Muaythai. Muaythai is heavily influenced by English boxing. Much bigger than any fighting style. The carvings in the murals of Angkor Wat show the fighting scene of Westilng and Khmer Boxing. And not from a fight called Bokator. IS THERE PROOF THAT THE BOKATOR EXISTED IN CAMBODIA? The answer is there is no evidence whatsoever of the existence of a fighting system called Bokator in ancient Cambodia at the time of the Khmer Empire. The only reference to the word Bokator "bok-ah-tau" comes from labokatao which means "to smite a lion". This refers to a story that supposedly happened 2,000 years ago. According to legend, a lion was attacking a village when a warrior, armed only with a knife, defeated the animal with his bare hands, killing it with a single blow to the knee. But the only species of lion that I lived closer to Cambodia was the Asiatic lion and it lived as far west as India. Rather, the big cats of Southeast Asia include the leopard and the Indochinese tiger. And this lion legend is modern. This indicates that this legend came to India and was depicted on the Banteay Chhmar temple mural. Indian culture and philosophy were major influences on Angkor culture. Religious life was dominated by Brahmins who in India also practiced sword fighting and empty hand techniques. The concept of the animal-based techniques of the lion and the bokator probably came about during the reign of the Angkor kings and the concurrent influence of Indian wrestling. • A common misunderstanding is that bokator refers to all Khmer martial arts, while in reality it only represents a particular style. The allegation of lack of proof of the existence of Bokator at the time of the Khmer empire according to Bokator practitioners and that at the time of the Pol Pot regime (1975 to 1979) or Khmer Rouge regime erased all evidence of the existence of the struggle. However, footage and documents from before the Khmer Rouge Regime show the existence of the Bokator. Not even on the wall of temples in Cambodia does this exist. Only Sculptures illustrating Westling and Khmer Boxing. Isn't it strange that the Khmer Rouge Regime only destroyed the evidence of Bokator's existence and left other fighting styles?
