The Gustav was the biggest gun ever made; with an astounding 32.5-meter-long barrel and fired 7-ton shells. It should be noted, though, that it could only fire 14 rounds a day. To simply assemble the gun, it would take a crew of 250 men 3 days. Not to mention it needed railroad tracks to be assembled specifically for it to be moved.
The field gun that will be used is the 17 cm Kanone 18; which fires 62.8 kg shells and a crew of only 10. Not to mention how it could be towed by truck, making it plenty easier to move. But, the gun had a range about 10 miles lesser than the Gustav, at 18.4 miles. And while being able to fire more often, each individual round had much less power than one Gustav shell.
