Jadi ceritanya saya mau ber-nostalgia mau maen NFSU 2. So far yang saya lakukan adalah install Dual-boot Linux-Windows. Jadi kalau mau maen game yg gak support platform di Linux, pindah Windows. Which is really inconvenient mesti matiin-nyalain dulu.
So far nemu Lutris yang mesti install Wine dulu. Lihat review nya yang pake kyk nya high-likely positive.

I want to speak my mind about this series---or rather about 1 of my favorite characters! And I totally get it if anyone wants to criticize for my unhealthy attachment to her.
That line that Kumiko says at the end of extra episode 6: "As long as I keep saying "See you tomorrow," I know this emptiness won't last forever!"
Tbh in recent days I've been feeling pretty empty because of the absence of Asuka. I'll admit it's not a healthy habit but it's human nature to admire those with the unique talent to do everything perfectly (even if that's only the tip of the iceberg to their life). Because everyone in the concert band shares my admiration, they felt as though Asuka should have been president, but Asuka declines as she does not care about social dynamics and simply wants to improve her playing.
What really punches that hole in my heart about Asuka is that while she is acutely aware of the fact that the band's morale was once completely dependent on her presence, I honestly wonder if Asuka realizes how much she is actually loved by her other peers (not limited to Kaori & Haruka).
The thing is, I have an unlucky talent where I made more enemies than friends, so I spent much more time studying compared to a lot of my peers in school, a lot of them being part of large friend groups. However, even as I continued to work hard and gain achievements such as my Eagle Scout, I still harbor grudges against the people who mistreated me and wished to punish them for it.
About a year ago, I was planning to brutally hurt one of the people who mistreated me (and was even willing to get a life sentence for it) when I met one of my elementary school teachers in public for the first time in about 6 years. We had a nice 15-minute conversation and I shared what I have been doing since graduating high school.
For starters, I will be graduating with a pharmacy degree this May 2025 after only 5 years of college (both undergrad and grad). In America, most healthcare students take at least 8 years to get both their undergrad and grad degree, so that teacher really took her time to tell me "I'm so proud of you!" It's not just this teacher; I've served as a Scoutmaster after earning my Eagle Scout, and the Scoutmasters who worked with me since the age of 7 even admited that the younger kids really liked me.
As someone who never took time to actually think about what I have accomplished, I never truly understood what it was like for people to look up to me, or---while we're on the topic---to be loved by those outside of my immediate family. I definitely wouldn't want them to feel sad because I decided to throw my academic potential away just because of a few bad people in my life. It was after having this conversation with my elementary teacher that I decided to stop living a two-faced life and truly focus on reaching the end of my education without ever getting into any legal trouble. (BTW, I am actually seeking psychological support at this moment.)
Continuing back to the topic of Asuka recognizing how much her classmates actually care about her, I think, if anyone, even Asuka can admit (internally) that Kumiko is 1 of the only characters outside her friend group who truly loves her as Kumiko was the only band member who actually went to Asuka's classroom and begged her to follow her heart... but even Asuka playing dumb with Kumiko pains me too...
Maybe the reason I feel so dissatified is because we (the viewers) will not get the chance to see 1 of the greatest member of the band concert continue to develop more transparent relationships, but I do acknowledge my greed on that note.
Nonetheless, I must commend Kumiko for successfully detaching herself from her beloved senior, though I'm sure they'll stay in touch every now and then...
Once again, congraulations to Sound! Euphonium for reaching its conclusion and to Kitauji for earning its first gold ever!

I'm frustrated. I've got a Breville Roma, which is admittedly not a great machine, but I thought with my new Eureka Silenzio I could GRIND FINER and get a decent espresso. It took me about 3 weeks and a scale off Amazon, but I managed to find a recipe that was drinkable: 3.25 grind, 14g in, 35-45g out (more about this in a moment) and correspondingly different pull times.
I burned through my first bag in the first two weeks but got my second bag around the time I started enjoying my espresso (same roast/bean/supplier). Then suddenly about week 4, I was trying a slightly finer grind after some feedback on my flow, and the machine became unable to push water through the puck.
My puck prep is as consistent as I can make it, without any accessories other than a tamper off Amazon and me trying to apply the same amount of tamping each time. At first I chalked it up to too much tamping, so I eased off, no dice. Then I went back to my previous grind setting--same issue. I chalked that up to retention, so I pulled a few more shots. Nothing coming out. So I went crazy today and pulled a shot with a 3.5 grind, which previously flowed way too quickly... nothing coming out.
I can't decide whether I need a new machine (I've been looking for Bambino Plus deals in Canada this week), if the Roma has a problem (it sounds the same as always, just no water coming out) or if dialing in espresso is sorcery. ARGH!

2024.11.30 04:50 keepfighting90 Rewatching 'Lost' - it's been 20 years and no other show has scratched the same itch for me
I started a rewatch of Lost after a long time, and now halfway through the 3rd season, I still find it to be a completely singular and unique experience that no other TV show has captured for me. I'm trying to pinpoint exactly what it is because in the past years we have had many big-budget shows with ensemble casts featuring really good acting, flashbacks and compelling stories but Lost still stands alone.
I think what really stands out to me, now that I'm rewatching the show, is the atmosphere. Lost just has this incredible mood and vibe that completely immerses you into the setting. It feels mysterious - the writing does an amazing job of just putting you in the shoes of the characters and trying to uncover the secrets of the island. Just regular people thrown into this extraordinary situation.
The setting definitely helps - Hawaii just looks so simultaneously primal, otherworldly and beautiful. It's almost like being on an alien planet. The steady stream of revelations and discoveries really gives you a feeling of grand adventure. It's a survival story at the end of the day, and I think those narratives always strike a chord in some subconscious parts of ourselves.
Many other shows have attempted the mystery box thing, but even with some unsatisfactory answers, Lost is still the best to do it. Maybe it's because the pieces that make up its mystery box are somehow just fundamentally more...interesting and fascinating. A mysterious island. A secret underground hatch. A strange monster made of smoke. A group of strangers prowling the forest. Long-ago secret science experiments.
Over the years I've watched a lot of shows similar to Lost. Severance, From, Yellowjackets, Dark etc. and they're all great in their own ways. But none of them have come close to the sheer sense of awe and wonder Lost was able to generate in me (I think Dark came the closest).

 | Background information: I've never met this woman because we all live cross country from each other and she never reaches out to my husband. She did not attend our wedding and did not reach out to say congrats or anything. My husband and I got married earlier this month. When we got our professional pictures back I posted pictures of my family and the grooms dad's side. The reasoning is because I do not have the numbers of a lot of the grooms side and figured it was easier for them to see them and save them. My side is very large. And it was easier to post our family picture then send it to everyone. It has been two weeks since then. Today my husband and I woke up to see his aunt had posted on MY wall on Facebook asking why her side wasn't posted. She didn't bother to reach out to either of us to ask. If she had she would have known that my MIL and her family that came to the wedding and I all had a group chat where I personally thanked them for celebrating with us, shared all the pictures to, and chatted about how much we enjoyed seeing each other. My husband and I have also already sent out our wedding thank you's and printed pictures of people if they were in them. I was shocked by the audacity to post this publicly on my Facebook. I reached out to her privately and said I did not appreciate her doing this and asked why she didn't bother picking up the phone and try calling my husband or I before she acted this way. Guess what, never answered lol. My mother in laws mom called and apologized for her daughter's behavior which I told her wasn't her fart and there was no need for anyone to apologize her daughter. She expressed how mad she was at her daughter for this and how it was not the feeling of the entire family.
