2024.12.01 00:41 hikelover1209 Don’t want to have children because life is too hard
I’m keen to know if there are others out there that feel this way or if it’s just me.
But pretty much I’m not interested in having children purely because of how stuffed up this world is and how hard life is. If I struggle with life’s challenges on my own and struggle to keep myself together, I then feel like it wouldn’t be fair on a child as I wouldn’t be able to guide them myself and be there for them if I myself can’t do it. I definitely want a spouse as a companion but I’m not convinced on having a child as I don’t want to have one and then let them down.
Is this right thinking both from a life and Christian perspective?

I want to thank everyone in this sub for what you have taught me and given me. In the past, I wouldn’t have paid much attention to the receipt and just tipped. Now, I always look at the receipt before tipping and signing.
Longhorn Steakhouse is sneaky on their suggested gratuities. They show it based on the post-tax total vs the pre-tax subtotal. It says it on the receipt, but it can be missed pretty easily when you are trying to leave.
Anyways, all you lurkers like me, listen to this sub. They know their stuff.

My best friend for most of my life (not in contact much in last ~3-4 years) met a girl over 8 years ago and never introduced us to eachother.
In these years there were periods where we were together every working day of the week until now where we see eachother 1 or 2 times a year. Reason is different/busy lifes.
Few months ago he invited me to his bachelor party and wedding, both of which not a lot of people were invited to. Unfortunately, I couldn't attend since I was working abroad.. Soon I will be back, planning to meet with them but wondering why has it come to this situation that in so many years he never introduced us to eachother.
Of course I want to ask him directly but am really unsure what could be the reason behind it. I know her by sight, we greeted each other from distance, but never formally met.
Did you introduce your girlfriend to your friends? If not why, especially after longer periods together? I don't really know how to approach the situation.

People have objectives such as getting good grades when studying, but how do you reinforce that goal EVERYTIME? How do you force yourself to desire something? Even though you try to remain calm as being stressed won’t do any good there is still a faint lingering fear inside you, how do you get rid of that?
Sure everybody wants good grades but knowing the exact time before the exams and not knowing whether you’re going to absolutely pass or fail, how does one get rid of those thoughts? I’ve heard of meditating, but from your experience what has helped you the most?

not sure if i'm actually bisexual like i thought i am, a lesbian experiencing comphet, or a straight girl who's just scared of men because of my experiences with them so i'm subconsciously trying to mute them out of the picture and turn to women out of fear.
for context, i've never dated another woman although i've had some sort of a situationship a few years ago where i was very attached to an older woman and started noticing typical signs i do when i have a crush lol like getting nervous around he wanting her approval/ getting a dopamine hit when she gave me attention/ wanting to always hang out etc.
i've also been extremely nervous and crushy around a couple of women in the past which is the same way i feel when i have a crush on a guy in the early stages before i later come to hate him lol. i can also get attached to guys but sometimes it's an attachment even if i'm not actually attracted to them. it's more that i've been around them long enough that now i'm used to them being there and it feels weird without them.
the thing is, when it comes to emotional safety and attachments i don't regret having, i've only ever experienced them with women. every man i've ever felt attached to regardless of if i had a crush on him or not, turned out to disappoint me and disrespect my feelings. i only ever actually have respect for the women and can look at them as cool people i like.
also when it comes to guys i've liked the physical appearance of, it's usually more in a social currency way (i know this sounds and is kind of horrible but pls bare with me i'm trying to be as honest as possible) but like, i know getting seen around a conventionally attractive man would make it seem to other girls like i've got something amazing about me that someone this good looking is choosing to be around me for. it's an ego boost basically. like i said i'm aware this isn't very healthy or genuine but i'm just trying to get to the root of this to figure it out.
the truth is if there was no one to show off a hot boyfriend to i think i would be very indifferent about having one. with the girls i've crushed on in the past, though, even if there was no one to show them off to i think i would have a blast just hanging out with them every day and living together and whatnot. i'm not sure about the sex part, but i know emotionally it would be great. even if it's just platonically i would be satisfied. i really don't know what this is lol. sorry if this post is all over the place but i'd appreciate any thoughts or comments if anyone relates or so. thank you <3

Is it just me or should we be allowed to trade and swap gold cards of our choice. I'm 4 gold cards away from completing album but unfortunately none of them are in the golden blitz so I guess I've failed again unless I buy 4 wild cards for £200 nearly. I enjoy the game but come on. People play the game as its meant to be fun helps people relax but all I read is how stressful people are over the game.

Growing slime molds for the very first time and I'm using Petri dishes since I'm going to be doing a small study for school but my practice one is growing outside in just a few days, I kept getting the impression that they wouldn't climb out unless they're desperate but is the only way to stop them to just trim the edges?
