2025.01.19 22:03 subfrequenz Wheel alignment and wheel arch gaps
 | So I bought a used 2016 Lexus IS300h the other day. Presently one wheel arch looks more raised than the other, but I think it's down to different tyres on each axle, and possibly the camber being out on one of the wheels. Height from middle of the wheel to the arch varies by 4mm, with it being higher on the side with the older tyre. My observations: UK right hand drive car. Nearside wheel: new tyre, 1cm approx less arch gap but ride height only a 4mm lower compared to the other side. Offside wheel: older tyre (not that worn, a few thousand miles). 4mm higher from centre wheel to wheel arch but visually much more gap between tyre and wheel arch. The previous owner had kerbed the wheels quite a bit, so I am having a full alignment done, along with new tyres all round. Should this enable the car to sit level? Evening folks,
I've been playing about (badly) with acoustic guitars for some time. After a recent visit to a customer I became one guitar richer in the form of an old Lag electric. Then I opened up the can of worms that is amps.
One friend commented that a Line Six Spider fifteen watt was a good bedroom amp. Another friend told me about the Blackstar Fly three that is on offer with Classic Rock magazine subscriptions. I also was quite drawn to the small Bugera head unit; which seems to perform even better with a valve upgrade.
The Line Six Spider is very much a Marmite amp, but would seem to be spot on for what I need. (One local for twenty five sterling (£))
My friend swears that the Blackstar is an awesome bit of kit. (Twenty four sterling (£) for the subscription)
And I just like the look (and reviews) of the Bugera. (One local for Eighty sterling (£) - could buy a cab at a later date as it has a headphone jack).
I'm hoping to become more proficient at blues / bluesy Rock / surf rock / maybe a bit of prog?
I'm understanding that from an effects point of view I'd be better off with pedals, and have already started looking into this.
There is scope in the future to upgrade the amp. Just looking to get something to get started playing / plinking as cheap, but as well as possible. Would like to hear your opinions.
Nb. Sorry for the words rather than numbers but it kept popping up that it would filter out the post if it had numbers in.

2025.01.19 22:03 ski24 Denon X3400h trouble with ATMOS over eARC
 | Just got a PS5 and the Costco Hisense 100U70N 4K tv recently. Until now everything, Apple TV/PS4, ran through the denon then one output to a plasma tv. No issues getting any audio format to decode. I want to take advantage of the 4k@120hz VRR feature of the PS5 and Hisense so need to connect directly to the tv since the denon is limited to 4k@60hz output. Everything I’ve read says that ATMOS can be passed via eARC to the denon and I’ve verified every setting I can think of.

Delighted with the milestone this morning. I started on 14th September - took my 19th jab this morning now on 10mg. I am absolutely loving the journey and feel better in every way! People are noticing now and getting lots of compliments which is lovely and really gives a boost. This drug has changed my life - I walk 5-7km everyday. Eating healthy high protein meals with small portions. And have almost completely given up alcohol! My MH is so much better and I have so much energy and enthusiasm for life. Getting blood tests soon and hopeful that my blood sugars will also be down as they were 5.9 in the summer.

My car is rated 31/40. On freeways I 50-55+ easily, but around town (somewhat hilly) I get 26-28, and thats with me trying really hard, I even pumped up my tires to max sidewall and that didn't seem to help much.

my derm said this was caused by dryness? i was using la roche posay niacinimide cleanser + a moisturizer w both hyularonic acid and niacimide and was told to stop using them and do a much more simple routine. will this resolve itself? it has probably been about 2 weeks since the stop of the products but i have noticed it probably my second-third month on accutane and i’m on my fourth month.

We all understand the Hermes game and the psychological warfare that Hermes plays with their clients at times. This can get exhausting at times to be honest. However, on this one occasion I was actually thankful for it!
While at my local Hermes during a weekday waiting for my SA, a woman barged in with a group of 4 or 5 of her friends. I could tell this lady was obviously a VVIP client, as she had a FAUBOURG Birkin shoved under her arm. She asked to see her SA, and while shopping with my SA, I overheard her ask for bags for each of her friends! To my surprise, her SA quickly said it wasn’t possible at this time and that each would have to create a wishlist. This lady’s face turned bright red and I knew she had switched into “Karen” mode. She started yelling at the SA, noting how much she’s spent, to see the manager, etc., creating the most uncomfortable scene I’ve ever witnessed at any store, let alone Hermes. After the SA and then subsequently, the manager, did not budge, she started storming out of the store leaving her friends in the dust!
Me and my SA, being nosy as hell, kinda pretended to shop and meanderingly followed behind her but at a safe distance (LOL). When she gets to the door, the security guard attempts to open the door for her and she starts yelling at him saying that he was “getting in her way” and could have “tripped her”! We were flabbergasted! It was literally physically impossible for him to trip her by opening the door for her while she was still 10 feet away. This was absolutely unacceptable behavior as the poor guy was only doing his job!
This may be the one time I was grateful for the Hermes game and Hermes’ gatekeeping ways. This lady probably has not heard “no” in a very long time!
(On my way out of the store, I ended up apologizing to the security guard on behalf of the lady and told him he did nothing wrong.)
