2025.01.20 03:00 Benjilator Everyone says “dance however you like” but I rarely see people with unique dances?
I’m mostly going to Hitech and Psycore events, but have also been on Forest, Dark Psy, Zenon, Hard Techno, Industrial Techno, DnB and Psytrance floors.
Since I’ve always had issues with dancing, I am just slowly warming up. Through asking others about it I’m getting the impression that everyone just dances however they feel like, without putting any thought behind it.
Sounds like the only way I’ve ever made my body move to me music.
The thing is, almost everyone seems to dance just one type of dance, whatever is most common in their main genre. This is especially bad with techno, dnb and psytrance, while Hitech and Psycore seem to have the most variety.
My problem is that most common dance moves are no fun to me, they also require conscious effort which distracts from the music and vibe.
When I let go, I move in all sorts of ways, but holy shit does it look alien.
I mean that is my goal, whenever I am dancing alone (that’s how I’ve always done it) my goal is to not feel human anymore. I shed my skin and let the music fully control my body.
Once fully into it, more muscles move simultaneously than I could control consciously no matter how much effort id put in.
And it looks just alien, inhuman. Totally fits the vibe of Psycore and Hitech music, but imagine 20 people on the floor, 10 bouncing a little, 2 dancing a little, and one just alienating themselves right in front of the DJ, shaking, twitching, bending, depending on the music it can look horrific and like I’m possessed.
I know a few guys that get into this even if they’re the only person dancing, they say they don’t care about other people.
Yet I can never get there. When I start getting into it, I become overly conscious of myself.
I already stand out by choice of clothing and such, yet I don’t want to be any point of attention.
Dark floors are amazing, but very rare. I’ve tried sunglasses but feel like they make me stand out even more (if there’s no glaring sun that is).
There was one great but cold and rainy night with Psycore and a hoodie, but I was freezing and couldn’t even use my arms.
What is it that gets me there? “Just let go” doesn’t seem to be a thing with this.
I’m very experienced with psychedelics and always had an easy time letting go into them.
Due to mindfulness training and meditation I have an easy time letting go of stress and worry.
But for a year I’ve been trying at every opportunity to dance between people and I just can’t do it.
I don’t want to use drugs for this, I know they’ll work, but I just want to dance like I do at home.
My partner has shown great support, she’s caught me a few times and really tries to get me to dance more often as she likes it a lot.
I want to explore it more myself even, but there’s a barrier that seems impossible to break.

Hoping to get some insights on Garfield NJ. My wife and I are looking at some of the properties in the area around Garfield High School/Garfield Public Preschool.
Can anyone help share any insights on the safety of the area? What's the nightlife like? Any good food/restaurant recommendations? How is the diversity? We are an Asian couple; is there an Asian community? Is this a good place to raise a family?
Also, I read that the schools in Garfield are OK, but not the best but the kids have an opportunity to apply for a Bergen academy. How competitive is it?

Hi, I have nothing to sell, I just wanted to ask a question to a community who is passionate about journaling.
So I wanted to make an AI journaling app but I’ve realised the idea is way too similar to mindsera.
Now, I’m exploring a different idea regarding video journaling. An app that records your daily videos, analyses your tone and words, and gives you suggestions.
Haven’t figured out the feature set but just curious. I’m also assuming that people who are camera shy could also use this as a way to get ahead of it and sometimes I’ve realised that while talking to myself out loud I understand how stupid my logic or words are, which in a lot of cases is a relief, whenever I write I do try to articulate better than when I speak. What do you think?

This happened in December I’m at a retail store trying on some perfumes bc I’m a perfume addict. There are a lot of people I guess buying Christmas presents.
An old lady randomly approaches me and ask if I can give her an opinion on a male colongne she is holding.
My introverted self doesn’t wanna get involved but she was nice so I said: sure .
Girl … when I got close to the cologne she was holding for me to smell …. My impulsive self thought at loud and said :
-Ugh thats disgusting don’t get that, that smells like cigarette [insert vomit sound expression bc idk how to spell that in English]
She looked at me very humbly said: -No that’s me .
😱😱😱
I didn’t know where to look and I couldn’t pretend I don’t speak English like I normally would bc we interacted… it was the longest 5 seconds of my life
She then said : -Hey it could be worse it could’ve been weed lol
I thankfully thought of something funny and mimicked being high and said: -Oh in that case definitely take all of it 😮💨
She died laughing , I slowly escaped and told my friends, who obviously made fun of me bc somehow I get stuck in these situations a lottt
THIS IS WHY some of us stay introverted 😂😂😂

Hi all. I’m just getting into flutter dev, and after looking at various state management packages, scoped model stands out as both most intuitive (to me personally) and also the right level of complexity for my personal project.
My concern is that when I look up resources for it, most of the tutorials, articles, etc. covering its use are 4-5 years old.
Would this because it’s ‘dead’, or is it something that’s very solid and hasn’t changed much in those years?

Basically the title. I have an interview next month for LMU-DCOM and have been looking through reddit/sdn to get a feel for the interview from DCOM. The general census is that it’s a fairly laid back 1:1 interview. However, I have come across a few posts that suggest LMU-DCOM has a 93% post interview acceptance rate (including those who get accepted off the waitlist), but this just sounds too good to be true to me. Is it true or is this number inflated somehow? Obviously an interview invite shouldn’t be enough to get my hopes up, but 93% is still promising if it’s true/accurate. Has anyone heard of post interview rejections? Also any interview advice for LMU-DCOM would be greatly appreciated!
