Long story short, I’m trans. (FTM). Into The Ocean was a pivotal song for me in my struggle with presenting masculine. I know it’s one of their most popular songs, might not mean that much to others, etc. but to me that song hits deep.
I went to a Blue October concert with my dad in Odessa, TX. We had won tickets and they came with tickets to a pre-show meet and greet/Q&A. Justin stuck around afterwards to sign stuff/talk to fans and I got the guts to go up to him and tell him how much Into The Ocean meant to me, as a trans man. I wasn’t sure what to expect but I was really pleasantly surprised. He wasn’t awkward about it at all (despite my stammering and stumbling over my own words.) He pulled me into a tight hug for a long time and just kinda held me at arms length afterwards and told me he thought I was a beautiful person. That has stuck with me for the longest time. Someone I don’t even know, a celebrity, a stranger telling me in the most genuine way they thought I was beautiful struck me right in my heartstrings man, LOL.
Anyways yeah. I just had that story in the back of my head while listening to Blue October today and thought I’d share. :). PS: I’ll try to get photos from my dad, I know he has them somewhere in his phone bc he was standing at the side taking pictures of the encounter. If he can find them I’ll post them in the comments.

hey chemists, im a student doing research and is wondering if the oxalic acid from spinach is effective as a rust remover.
I researched extensively abt this and found out that it wont be effective, since there are some idk calcium in the spinach and it will bind to the oxalic acid.
I also know that rhubarb leaves are better but there are no rhubarbs in my locality (somewhere in the philippines)
Is there any chance i can make my spinach somehow effective in removing rust? if not rust, then anything at all from the oxalic acid from spinach?
Btw here is how i would extract my oxalic acid
- Boil the spinach (idk how long)
- Filter the solids
- Add HCl to acidify it
if spinach is really not that good as rust remover, can you suggest any plants might be available in my locality to test and extract?

I have an American cockroach infestation, but it used to be much worse before I hired an exterminator. The roaches are no longer visible anywhere except the restroom in my bedroom. I think there's a nest in there. My exterminator comes every three months. If I cancel the contract and use Ortho Home Defense every quarter, will my results be almost as good?
My house has a large gap between the floor and the ground (does that make sense?), and I think that's where the roaches live and breed.
