2025.01.22 04:48 ThirdRam is it wrong to want a sraight male friend?
Long intro but bear with me. So im close to go to college this year and so is most of my friend group from school, some are already in, some dont. A male friend of mine that I didnt consider close, up until recently, apparently is going to study in a city that is very far away and I wouldn't see him for most of the academic year so it is likely that we will lose contact. At first I didnt think much of it since he has always been a little out of touch, even with his own family, but now I feel sympathy -or I think I do- and dont wanna lose him as a friend. I do feel like this sympathy is coming from my desire to have male friends that make me feel like Im "one of the guys" -bc my bf and girl friends are a different type of relationship-. So now Im wondering if Im being selfish for not wanting to lose a friend over something other than our friendship and if Im in the wrong for wanting straight male friends. Idk what I feel so its hard to put it in words. Idk if this would hurt my bf so I havent told him nor my friend thats leaving. Any advice or help in what im feeling rn and if its wrong?

2025.01.22 04:48 DirtNapsRevenge Kodi/RPi and LG TV/CEC Issues ... anyone?
Just wondering, is anyone else out there using the combination of Kodi running on RPIs (Libreelec) with LG TVs having problems keeping their remotes connected via CEC?
I'm running LibreElec on four (4) different Raspberry Pi 4s & 5s and have them plugged into several different brand displays, Panasonic, NEC and LGs, have been for years. On the Panasonic displays (both the one I currently have and the one it replaced) and the NEC display the remote/HDMI CEC functions work flawlessly, no issues at all. On the LG displays, both those I have now and the ones they replaced a few years back, I can get the remote/HDMI CEC to function after a reboot or power reset however as soon as I switch the display to another input the HDMI CEC functions stop working until I reset the Raspberry Pi again. Initially I thought this was a display issue but they don't exhibit this problem when switching between other device inputs such as going between the Bluray players and TV input, just switching the Raspberry Pi running Kodi and any other input. This is has only been an minor irritation for sometime as the LG displays are in bedrooms and stay on the Kodi input most of the time, but I'm considering upgrading my HT display to LG OLED TV wondering in if this is a problem with all LG displays including newer ones? I looked through all the display and Kodi settings, fiddled with a couple but nothing seems to changes this behavior.
Has anyone else experienced a similar issue?

I'm going to share a true story. When my kid was about 5 or 6, she came to me to inquire about the "dinosaur on the couch." For reference, I used to live in the type of apartment where the kitchen overlooks the living room which was in the middle of two bedrooms. My roommates bedroom was to the left and ours was to the right. The couch sat in the living room with it's back facing the kitchen. The tv was off, there were no dinosaur toys on the couch, in the room or anything of the like. Anyway, she came over to me in the kitchen and said she saw a very tall dinosaur sitting on the couch.
I looked out from the kitchen and of course saw nothing so I thought she was kidding. She was not. I asked her what it looked like and she said it's tall, just sitting quietly, looking at the tv and it was made of a lot of bones. I'm assuming it was the skeleton of something is what she meant by her seeing it's bones. I asked her several times and she never changed her story. It freaked the hell out of me. She is an adult now (this happened almost 20 years ago) and if I ask her about the dinosaur on the couch she remembers it. I don't believe her to be lying.
Any ideas on wth happened that day?

I used to have crouton on my samsung chromebook and I went to set it up again so that I could try to play project zomboid. now sudo commands don't work and crouton is basically not an option due to google sucking ass. What can I setup that isn't going to be a monumental pain in my ass for a noob and is ideal for gaming.

Hola buenas, es mi 1ra vez usando Reddit así que trataré de ser breve, este es mi 2do año estudiando diseño gráfico y no sé si salirme o terminar la carrera, como tal me gusta pero tengo el problema de que viendo a mis pares y el como me fue en la paes (promedio de 900 en todo a excepción de nem que tengo 850) siento que falle como persona, que pude haber elegido una carrera de peso pero opte por algo que he visto no solo no genera sino que es incluso la burla de otras carreras, de manera que no se si terminarla y tratar de usar el cae para estudiar algo que me genere o salirme de diseño gráfico y estudiar de una algo que me de pan en la mesa (aunque tendría que dar de nuevo la prueba de acceso), pero eso gente, gracias por su atención y bendiciones.
