I’ve had constipation almost all my life, and for 6 years so since about 2019 I’ve had stomach pain and stuff like that but I would have flare ups where it’s like chunky diarrhea but I NEVER throw up. I NEVER pooped blood ever and after I eat sometimes I’ll feel nauseous but never throw up, sometimes I’ll feel nauseous before I eat but still never throw up. All my pain is just gassy, crampy and achey stomach and constipation and nauseous. Like I never feel fatigued or like I said pooped blood or even have thin pencil thin poops like I never have that either so could I still have colon cancer or am I just overthinking it?

i feel like i’m constantly caught between outright saying something and providing enough context and details for the audience to infer something. example: my main antagonist is learning new powers. sometimes i feel like the better choice would be to introduce a new power in an action scene, and allow the audience to infer what has just happened, but sometimes i think it’d be better to just say “hey he unlocked ___ and now teleports” or something. is there a line i need to balance on between the two, or does each choice have its own proper use?

2025.01.22 04:56 The_Lolbster Software is clearly able to allow customization of sounds through things like a volume slider. Why does a similar slider not exist to turn down the maximum pitch of the audio? Many neurological conditions cause sensitivities to sound, and sound is an unavoidable part of interfacing with technology!
I managed to fit it all in the title. Volume sliders exist and allow one to set a 'maximum volume'. Why is there not also an ability to set a 'maximum pitch'? Is the maximum pitch that a speaker puts out arbitrarily defined based on human hearing? Brain injuries and many neurological conditions make whole ranges of pitches of sound to be less tolerable for individuals.
If you've read this far, maybe you're thinking 'why should I care?' Well, to take this from an accessibility thing to an everyone thing:
An innumerable amount of humans likely get headaches from sounds. Some of those headaches are because of sounds they might not even be aware they're hearing, from headphones or speakers for example.
Still here? An idea to deal with it:
Computers are definitely smart enough to give a rough 'hearing test' and determine if a human is hearing the pitches it generates and asks for feedback on. Just add to the test from only using hearing vs non-hearing, to include some kind of 'is this sound a problem for you?' in some way and start in a very neutral space and work towards fringes. Computers should be helping people more, and this is something that could be done with software and care.

Last year I was having a dinner party, when my friends were leaving they seen the back of their car was smashed up. I checked my cameras and found the footage of the vehicle smashing into the back of it and taking off, most likely drunk. The next day after work I decided to drive around the neighbourhood and I ended up finding the vehicle that matched the car in the footage with a front smashed up parked up a driveway. My friend went to the local police station, gave all the evidence. Photos of the car, footage from my cameras, and he didn’t hear a single thing back from the police. He moved to Australia 3 months later after giving up on the police to do their job and he had to buy a new vehicle as his insurance was only 3rd party. Is there still a chance I can chase this up for him? I hate the fact this person got away with this.
