I really hate it. It's so buggy. When many applications are open, the auto-hide taskbar doesn’t work if there's any notification until you click the corresponding application (e.g., MS Teams, Outlook).
And sometimes it gets stuck, or I can’t figure out which application prevents it from hiding again, so I have to restart the Explorer process manually.
How do you handle this? Or did you give up and keep the taskbar always visible?

2025.01.22 09:51 DiortheGolden I’m struggling to come to terms and I want to break that.
I’ve done so much bad and it’s all because I hate myself. I hurt her so many times that I’ve realized that every boundary she set, I broke it because of persistent nagging. I didn’t even see it as that until I’m scrolling through TikTok and all these narcissist videos keep popping up.
There was a period where we broke up and got back together and in a situation where she was vulnerable with me, I snapped on her not taking everything into account and hyperfocusing on what made me feel hurt instead. I said mean things to her, I made her have performance anxiety in front of me, & for the first time, I really do see it.
It’s not just going in one ear and out the other, I am actively seeing it & I don’t want to perpetuate this cycle anymore. I’m never upset when she’s with friends or when she talks about our relationship but I realize that I never made her wins feel like wins, only small steps that shouldn’t be celebrated.
I’ve done nice things for her, pay for trips, most of our food, buy her things I thought she would like but I realize that there’s one thing she constantly never felt, included. I would take trips without her, often because she was never able to come, but she expressed sadness one day where I told her I was traveling again and she felt as if she was being left behind even though she couldn’t come. I should’ve planned more adventures with her. I should have taken her more places. I should have been better and if I could’ve just seen how things were for what they were, I could’ve changed so much sooner.
I am bad, I see that I’m bad, and I want to change, what do I do?

What’s your take on Garmin power zones? Do you think structuring running workouts and training schedules based on them could be more effective than using pace or HR zones?
On a related note, how accurate do you find Garmin watches for measuring power? I’ve got a second-hand Forerunner 965 and recently received the HRM-Pro. I’m not planning to buy any additional gear to improve power metric accuracy, so I’m curious whether this setup is good enough.

I am running over ten different apps that are utilizing Horizon queues quite heavily. I have been scratching my head for a while with this issue and cannot seem to find a solution. I am using Guzzle to send out HTTP requests to external APIs and I have several cases where the name resolution / DNS lookups start to fail after the Horizon queue has been running for a long time. We are talking days or weeks so the issue is hard to replicate. After you restart the queue, everything is working fine again.
I have ruled out actual DNS issues since once the queue goes to this state, the name resolution on the server is working just fine. I can also run the requests from tinker just fine.
Scheduling a periodic Horizon restart would be one solution but I would like to get bottom of this. Has anyone has this kind of issue?

So I have been clinically practicing for about 11 years with mixed experience in hospital medicine and critical care in an academic hospital. I've worked nights almost exclusively, which is taking its toll with overall burnout and job dissatisfaction. I have enjoyed helping educating new hires and students, therefore considered switching to academia. I feel the day hours and decresed clinical stress would do wonders for me. My alma mater has a faculty position open. My only concern is I have no formal education/teaching experience. Anyone have advice to get started? I was debating asking to guest lecture vs just going for the position.

I’d also excel in some sections (like ethics on my first attempt) but perform poorly in others. This inconsistency was frustrating and exhausting.
After receiving a waiver to retake the test just one month later (instead of the standard three-month wait), I decided I couldn’t give up. I reevaluated my strategies and adopted new tools and techniques that made a huge difference. Here’s what I learned:
