Hello, I'm struggling to remember the author or the title of a book series I read when I was a teenager (ten ish years ago). The main theme of the book is poltical corruption and the lead female character is a fighter pilot and after WW1 or something the world decide to solve all their problems in one-to-one combat using fighter jets and whichever pilot wins gets what their country wanted. It's set in America and the plot follows a corrupt political leader who is taking over the country according to a person's birth chart (star signs and what not) and eventually takes over the country and the main female lead has to stop him pretty much. Really want to read this series again and any help would be much appreciated, trying to find it online has been useless.

I'm trying to file for unemployment and I'm stuck once I get to the option for the number of employers in the last 18 months, as well as which employers I should be listing. I work for multiple clients each year and receive 10 or more 1099's as well as around 10 W2's. Work is slow right now and I'd like to file on a weekly basis for unemployment until it picks back up.
Is it possible to reach and actual human being at NYS DOL? I've tried with no luck.
Is there anyone who has done this before or a qualified professional I could reach out to?

2025.01.22 16:54 DesperateYard1722 Will I ever get to travel again or has my brain made it impossible?
I had an extremely traumatic experience when I traveled a few states away about 6 years ago. Since then I have struggled with agoraphobia but since then I've gotten a lot better and able to work. BUT vacation and travel for other things feels near impossible. I have missed out on weddings that are more than an hour away just because I feel too scared to have a breakdown out of nowhere. I think what happened to me years ago was a bipolar episode that led to agoraphobia.
Idk what to do. It's making my life suck a lot. One of my closest friends has a wedding in Florida this fall. I can't imagine driving that far let alone getting on a plane. Most likely scenario I rather drive.

I was researching components for a MTB with rigid fork (Something like the Scott Scale GR) and I came across the fact that Shimano GRX has the option of a Rapid Fire instead of the STIs (and a brake lever specifically for that case), it's the SL-RS700

It's only for the 11s group, they didn't do this for the 12s.
Now I have a sincere doubt. What would be the advantage or disadvantage of using a GRX in relation to a Deore, XT or XTR?
I know that the GRX 11s only accepts a maximum of 11-42 cassette. But I've seen people using the 12s derailleur (the RD-RX822-SGS) with the 11s shifter and it working fine. So, apart from the cog size, are there any other technical differences between the GRX and MTB groupsets?

Hello internet strangers, thanks in advance for any info and advice you can give -
So here I am, editing images of my cells, and I get the color balance and intensity just right so that my pictures look beautiful. For the final touch, I add a scale and click "burn scale" so that the scale is saved onto the image. As soon as I click "burn scale," the color balance on the image changes, they all look noticeably brighter and ruin the balance that was already saved before the scale was added.
I can try to go in and adjust the balance again after adding the scale, but I'd prefer it didn't change the coloring in the first place. Any tips?

2025.01.22 16:53 FunkyParticles Is it safe to re-insert the battery while the bike is wet from outdoor rain?
My bike is parked outside in our garden every evening. I was already annoyed to find out that I had to taks the battery out every evening to leave it in a safer temperature range (between 10-30°C). This morning when I was going to clip the battery back in I noticed that my bike (and therefore the battery connectors) was soaking wet due to it pouring rain outside.
As such I didn't clip my battery in, because if the connectors were full of water, then surely this would have completely screwed the battery right? Any thoughts on this?

I had to travel this past week and I took a shot with me. I used the small case they gave me for the glucose monitor and got some 3x5 cold packs off Amazon to keep it chilled.
When I left, I weighed 220.9 and this morning when I usually always weight myself, I was 221.9 so gained only 1 lb while traveling. Not bad in my opinion and tomorrow is shot day.
There were a couple of days I more than likely ate a bit too much and paid for it with a bloated stomach and taking Mylanta. I have not had issues with constipation but definitely have issues with gas. not sure it is from the food or the medicine. I live in Washington state and I was in Pennsylvania for the past week. I also seem to have sneezed quite a bit, but that may be due to the weather change. It barely got above freezing while there. BRRRRRRRRRR
My start weight was 226lbs, so I am still in a loss and this is week 3 for me. So those that might be having issues stay the course and sometimes life happens. Just get back at it and keep trying.
