BACKGROUND I'm installing a new bathroom fan and switch with a humidity sensor and timer. The fan is already installed and working with the old on/off switch. I'm trying to install the new fan switch with black, red, white and green wires, but upon opening up my switch box, I found 3 black wires (A, B, C) and 1 white wire (D). Which wires do I connect with which?
FACTS
- These are 1 way switches.
- A is connected to 2 (Wall)
- B is connected to 3 (Wall)
- C is connected to Y (The other switch, unlike A and B)
- The black line from 1 goes into the back/top of switch Y.
- Connect the black wire (from the fan switch) to A.
- Connect red and B and C.
- Connect white to D.
- Connect green to the bare copper wire coming out of 1.
