I am looking to purchase hardware for a storage server - moving away from a synology NAS. I understand I could put disks in a server for proxmox but I would like to run a seperate storage server - would i be better to use truenas or unraid. 2025.01.23 02:43 magicseafoam Arrival layover extended by 22 hours
I just received a notification that my arrival layover from Calgary, Canada to Paris is being extended from a 2 hour layover at the time of booking now to a 22 hour layover. I would have originally arrived in Paris at noon on April 4, and now am set to arrive 10am April 5. I have an UltraBasic booking so I'm told no changes can be made, but this seems like a rather egregious liberty on their behalf.
I can be flexible with the dates and would very much like to have the 7 nights I originally planned for rather than the 6 they seem to be imposing upon me with no explanation. Anyone have any insight on what I might expect before I go through the call center rigamarole tomorrow, or am I SOL? Thanks!

We are looking for ways to build a vehicle in the most efficient and effective way, I need thoughts on this please.
wouldn't it be better if a group of engineers worked together without managers to design, and build a vehicle,
Is just that we identify so many inefficiencies in the U.S with the work culture and the corporate burning thru cash like it is nothing.
This is what we are planning to do and at the moment are exploring ways to found this.
We are have explored the creation of a meme token and have already launch it among our selves, we want the token to represent company shares and be the company financial backbone,
Do you think that is is worth for us to spent our salaries to pursue, market, and spent hours in this??
Will the community support such a movement?
It does sound like a dream but it is our dream to interrupt the big 3 in Detroit
and be engineers, that is all we want to be.

Getting 120V DC on the neutrals from a 208V panel.
The only things on this panel ATM are 208 NEMA rates lights, a couple receptacles and a media cabinet (which has not given issues before).
So have no clue where the 120DC is coming from.
If more information is needed for this mystery ask away.
This is more of a curiosity.

I remember when TNG was first coming out and a lot of us thought that Data not being able to use contractions was bizarre, because contractions are really easy. Can't you just do them with search and replace? Well, it turns out that they're not always so easy.
Consider this pair of sentences - Are you mad? I can tell you are. - Are you mad? *I can tell you're
If you are a fluent speaker of English, then you realize that that second example is just not right!
These kinds of contractions are called clitics, and the way they work is more complicated than you might think. According to the link below, "Stephen R. Anderson's 2005 book Aspects of the Theory of Clitics spends over 250 pages exploring theories about how clitics work and why. And his book builds on the work of many other linguists. And it's dense, technical stuff."
Anyway, there's a lot more at this link (it's very readable) and, although we now know that LLMs and such can figure it all out pretty well, it is good to know that contractions are much harder than they seem at first glance and you could see why, at least in theory, Data might have trouble handling them!
