These are pretty well-known, I think, but to some that don't, the first one is the 20 string "Djentar" from Steve Terreberry and the second one is the 18 string(I think it's still called a Djentar??)from Jared Dines. The 18 string existed first before the 20 string. I would just like to have an estimate from someone who has more experience in feeling the weight of a guitar than me. Don't get me wrong - I get it. If there's a popular book, people will inevitably want to talk about it. But this sub has in recent weeks become an incessant stream of posts about fourth wing. I don't mind topics on this generally, I really don't, but there are subs for specific books or authors for a reason. fourthwing is one of them - it's a huge, active sub, why don't fans of this series use it?
Please keep in mind, I've got nothing against fans of this book, or any book. Most of the time, I just skip these posts entirely, but recently it's become really noticeable. This happens periodically with other books as well, not just fourth wing. SJM pops up periodically, so does author drama, quicksilver, etc. This is not a fourth wing specific issue, it's a fandom issue (?).
A lot of my fantasyromance feed is repetitive fourth wing fangirling and book release rants. Again, no shade to that, but that's what the specific book subs are for. The posts are then promoted even further due to its engagement, meaning that other posts go unseen. Only when I go to the actual sub, do I see other posts, which contain discussions on a plurality of books. Which is kind of the point of this sub.
And to be clear, I'm not shaming fangirlies out there, but I do wonder if you guys don't search for similar topics before posting? Or what's the reason for not using the specific book sub, if it's available, and full of fans that share your interest?
I'm not trying to be antagonistic at all, but am I alone in this?
Happy to hear some (respectful) thoughts.

I have been having a tough time recently, breakup of 8 year relationship and suicide of best friend.
I find that I need to be constantly distracted. Even in my most productive times I need to be checking reddit every so often, listening to music or a youtube video.
I would like to go cold turkey and commit to only focusing on one task at a time with no distractions. The issue is that, embarrassingly, for me to feel bored or unstimulated currently is a terrifying thought. I am not sure if letting go of these soothing distractions would possibly push me over the edge. Does anyone have any experience of just biting the bullet and pushing through the pain of withdrawing from constant stimulation?
Any answers/stories are greatly appreciated.

2025.01.23 12:13 M_RiGGz Tips for playing Competitive as a 3 Stack?
Hey guys,
Been playing since launch but just started getting into Competitive since the beginning of Season 1, and man has it been a rollercoaster.
To make things simple, the highest I've been able to reach so far has been Gold 3, while most others in my party have reached Silver 1 or Silver 2. Ever since I reached Gold 3 maybe like a week or so ago, we've practically been stuck in Silver hell.
Not trying to come across as "that guy", but it genuinely feels like a lot of the time where the majority of our party is doing good (whether it be Vanguard, Duelist, Strategist), we always seem to go on a losing streak, even when one of us ends up getting SVP in our respective role. We'll get Randoms that will flat out not perform well, deliberately throw the game, or just become toxic when we try to communicate and give advice.
Couple of examples:
- Had a game where I was strategist, and the other 2 in my party filled one to each role. We had a Loki who kept complaining about not being healed, and started throwing out slurs and telling us to "protect me slaves". Like what the hell man.
- Had a game where I was duelist, others I my party filled one to the other 2 roles. Enemy team was basically a full dive comp and I essentially have to be the main one fending off 4 dives. Meanwhile I'm trying to tell our other duelist who is constantly asking for heals, that the backline needs help and they keep getting killed by the dives. This basically goes on until overtime, and we somehow win. And then the other duelist says along the lines of "gg, had to mute our iron man (me)". Because I'm giving advice and trying to give comms? I don't recall being toxic whatsoever, literally just giving comms on what's going on.
- Last example: Just today in one of our earlier games, I go Strategist, other 2 in my party fill one to each other role (you get it by now). We have a random Thor who's constantly going through the enemy team into their backline and getting killed within the first round on attack. So I type in the chat "hey Thor, try not to overextend too much, they keep putting walls behind you and we can't heal you". Then I get hit with the response "shut up, you're not my pocket healer". Like, wtf man.
Morale of the story, how can we even attempt to have an enjoyable ranked experience as a 3 Stack majority of the time where we get Randoms who either don't want to communicate, don't want to take any sort of advice, and are just downright toxic? Solo queue vs playing as a stack feels like 2 completely different experiences.
Love the game, just wish Ranked was more enjoyable for us.
