2025.01.23 16:41 0992673 How to get Dolby Pro Logic working with stereo content with an 5.1 signal from PC HDMI? Yamaha RX-V485
It seems that my receiver stops decoding DPL as soon as it receives an 5.1 or any kind of surround signal, despite only getting audio via the front channels of the 5.1 PCM mix when playing stereo content over HDMI. Beforehand I had used simple optical out Realtek audio on my motherboard that did a really good job of surround to DPL encoding for my receiver, but HDMI is the future and my new PC won't have optical outputs, so I got to get this working or find an alternative. Stereo is getting boring🤣
Does anyone have a good fix for this? Switching from surround to stereo every time I play something new is a huge hassle in windows. And all the various CinemaDSP programs in my Yamaha AV are a bit gimmicky and don't really create a surround effect. Thanks

Hi.. I am 15 and almost 2yrs into drumming. I have a lot of time to noodle around and learn new things. As usual i went to youtube and learned lots of things from grooves techniques and general things. But i have noticed that everything on 'youtube' isnt really applicable to songs or any scenarios. Suppose there are videos like look at this cool groove and its just a cool groove with almost no practicality in it (atleast i feel like). Everything is not free i understand and i really wanna learn new.
I see different live cams of drummers or hear songs and their drumming looks simple but are complex and somewhat gives life to the whole mix of music but i cant seem to pick it directly or get any lesson on how to do 'that' or something like that in general.
I have practiced and mastered almost the most basic rock grooves fills with precision on metronome. But those that only wont take me much further.
I see people practicing 7/8, 6/8 and differebt subdivisions and there are almost 0 videos on youtube regarding the concept all i see is just chops. And here i am stuck in only 4/4
Everytime i sit to practice i play the same song, groove same noodling around pattern and even same type of improvising
I wanna know where to spend and get the required knowledge to level up. What songs to practice. How to master. How to play it effortlessly. How to be smooth and fast.
I am only 15 so i cant just crash out on different courses. I wanna know your individual experience and do something meaningful.

Similar to when an opposition player dribbles the ball right through your foot as you press the tackle button. It doesn't matter if your timing was right, your tackle stat is much lower than their dribble stat that the timing doesn't matter. Is there any nation that has a long and detailed mission tree focused on tall gameplay or unique interactions that include tall-like gameplay?
I've seen a lot of suggestions of Dwarven adventurers / remnants being about tall and I played almost all of their tags but it always felt mostly about conquering all the holds, mines and caverns, forming the Dwarven Empire rather than building up my holds. Yes their income yield is great but I didn't feel that my missions lead me to sit in one place and build up or participate in some kinds of politics or some other kind of mechanics.
I just finished my first Command Run conquering most of the world around 1700-1750~ and now I feel like chilling on my 1-30 provinces doing weird things for 250 years.

With 95% of our net worth in my name, this looks like a bit of a risk, no? If we're married for 15 years and divorce, and then I have to pay my partner half my "income" for another 15 year to keep her in the same living standard as during marriage, that's a bit hard to swallow.
