Hello, I have a problem with Apple’s customer service in France. I hope someone here can tell me what to do.
The right ear cup of my AirPods Max disconnects randomly and takes about 30 seconds to reconnect. Since this issue began, the ANC has become really poor, lettng through almost all sounds. I’ve seen a few posts here mentioning this issue where it was suggested to clean the connectors, which I did, even though they were in great condition. But the problem persisted.
So, I went to an Apple Store to get an exchange or at least a repair since it’s still under warranty (they’re less than a year old). They sent it to the repair center, and after about a week and a half, I got them back exactly as they were. Apple didn’t find any issues, which is strange.
The manager personally handed me the AirPods Max and didn’t hesitate to be condescending, explaining that I had to accept the situation. (which, in itself, is unprofessional). He told me that “if I hadn’t been so cheap and purchased AppleCare, I could have had an exchange.”
The thing is, I have no intention of accepting this situation. I’m not asking for anything more than to have my problem resolved, which is the bare minimum for a product I paid full price for.
So I’m wondering, what should I do? Is it acceptable for me to go back to an Apple Store (a different store, as I have no desire to deal with that manager again, who reeked of last night’s drinking)?
I need my AirPods for my remote work meetings, so it’s not easy for me to part with them for another week and a half.
Is there a way to have Apple perform more thorough testing? (I received the checklist of tests they conducted, and they only evaluate sound quality, battery performance, and whether or not the headphones can connect).
If not, how can I escalate my request to be taken seriously as It’s quite difficult for me to record when the bug occurs; I don’t even see how I could prove my good faith.

My mother is mean and unsupportive when I’m in a relationship. She can never share in my joy. Theres always unsolicited advice and criticism. Me or my partner should always do something differently, I shouldn’t trust my partner because what if he betrays me. If I express that something she said hurt my feelings, its “i’m your mother you should be hearing this from me” or “I didn’t mean it that way so you shouldn’t take it like that.” Its “just know that its always been me allowing you to have these privileges and your freedom”
Now when i try to share something good about my partner or something in our relationship I’m met with silent treatment. Apparently, bringing up that I was hurt by something she said to me means that she shouldn’t speak to me at all about the subject. Theres never an “I’m sorry.” There will never be a “Oh thats so nice I’m happy for you.”

Hi all, I'm a very active person and was climbing WI5 and M7 ice/mixed/drytooling routes a few weeks ago until I was knocked on my ass by sudden onset spinal nerve pain. I got an x-ray and MRI without contrast and the main thing is the severe degenerative disc disease with my L5/S1. MRI also shows some anterior herniation. I want to get back to being as active as I have been (this includes 4-8 hour hikes, high altitude mountaineering, back to back days of climbing). Has anyone had either surgery for a similar issue? And how did it go, if so? I know a lot of people say avoid surgery if possible, but the reality is the disc is smushed.
Background health: I'm already at a good body weight and muscle, I'm still working out 5 days a week (drastically reduced in normal strength, weight, and intensity of training, but still climbing up to 5.10s etc), including my core workout (reduced weight), so my core strength is not an issue. I've seen a climbing specific PT and a general PT, and both assessment are that I have excellent strength and function but carrying a backpack and hiking for 2 hours to go climb is excruciating. I think on the plus side, rehab would be pretty fast as I'm highly motivated to be able to continue adventuring.

I'm excited to share a tool I created for automatically identifying and removing personal information from text documents using Natural Language Processing. It is both a CLI tool and an API.
- Identifies and replaces person names using spaCy's transformer model
- Converts gender-specific pronouns to neutral alternatives
- Handles possessives and hyphenated names
- Offers HTML output with color-coded replacements
- This is aimed at production use.
- I have not found another open-source tool that performs the same task. If you happen to know of one, please share it.
- Uses spaCy's transformer model for accurate Named Entity Recognition
- Handles Unicode variants and mixed encodings intelligently
- Caches metadata for quick reprocessing
Input: "John Smith's report was excellent. He clearly understands the topic." Output: "[PERSON]'s report was excellent. HE/SHE clearly understand the topic." Check out the deidentification GitHub repo for more details and examples. I'd love to hear your thoughts and suggestions.
Note: The transformer model is ~500MB but provides superior accuracy compared to smaller models.
