There has been lots of talk about disclosure, gifting etc. I honestly believe there are two types we are seeing now:
1) sensationalist (woo) such as the News Nation egg. This type is always overhyped and exciting, to try and draw viewers.
2) dry scientific such as Ecosystemic Futures. At face value this appears boring, but it is the most interesting disclosure as it involves proper engineers and other scientists discussing the topic.
I think this is real disclosure, look at any ground breaking revalations through history from germ theory to atomic theory. It always involves professionals and acedemics first, the news is disseminated through these circles and then much much later it is adopted by officials and then the general public.
This is what we are seeing now. This discussion is already happening as they are looking for investors and skilled researchers. What advantage would they have to disclose to the general public at this point? For them it's better to get the people they need on board rather than having the populous asking questions which theyay not be able to answer yet.

2025.01.23 19:00 Crotalus Why is Search in Photos so bad? Is there anything that can be done to improve it?
I use Photos to keep track of a large amount of wildlife photography. I name the files pretty simply, with the binomial and date "Crotalus-atrox-012325.jpg", for instance. However, there are such mixed results when I try and search for any of these files. If I try "Crotalus", "atrox", or "Crotalus-atrox", I get different results ... and nothing consistently. I've tried adding tags, too, and some show up, some don't.
Any insight or advice? I would prefer to keep using Photos for this because of iCloud and having them also available on my phone, but the search will prevent that if I can't find some solution that works.
