2025.01.23 20:50 Sandersmoke Issues while Moving into new build Apartment (west island)
So my boyfriend and I had a leased signed for move in date of January 1st which we had signed maybe 4 months beforehand. On the day of the move, the woman was there to show us around and give our keys. When she showed us the apartment, the fire alarm was beeping every minute or so and she said she made a request and someone would come fix it. No one came to fix it until Jan 3rd, so our first three days and first two nights we had to endure the constant fucking beeping of the alarm.
We notice also that the microwave has no power so we say, look once the guy comes to fix the alarm, have him fix the microwave. Guy comes for alarm, ignored microwave. Needless to say there were lots of back and forth emails happening about these issues and finally after a week the microwave was fixed. BUT as he’s fixing it, since it’s one of those microwaves that acts like the range hood of the stove, the electrician opened up the range and saw that it had not been finished. The metal pipe or wtv that has the airflow in it, just opened up from the microwave and there was no connecting piece so the air was just gonna fill the apartment or its walls.
We send them yet another email about that and they say we’re trying to get an appointment to fix that. THE APPOINTMENT ONLY ENDS UP BEING MONDAY JAN 20 THAT THEY FIX IT. So almost 3 weeks of having lived there with no access to stove basically cause how tf would we cook without the range (we tried and either the patio door had to be wide open while cooking or the fire alarm would go off).
Another thing I want to mention is we have indoor parking and my sticker would not work for the first week so I had to keep going back down to reception to fix it. This on its own is fine but the rest really built up my anger.
So, Sometime between them finding out the range was never finished I got really annoyed. I didn’t mention at the beginning but this is a new build and move in started as of April 2024. I email them saying look like this isn’t fucking normal, you promote luxury living condos for rent and none of our stuff is even finished/usable until over three weeks of having lived here… and we signed the lease MONTHS in advance so they should have had ample time to prep everything. After back and forth she finally says she will talk to management. Comes back three days later saying they will give us a 10% credit…. Our rent is 1600$ so basically 160$ off. For real my boyfriend and I were so insulted by that. We just really don’t think it’s fair.
Whole story being finished, what should we do? Are there any laws protecting us or something like that? I feel like I’m admitting defeat by taking their measly 160$. Please help us with your advice cause fr we are lost. Thanks in advance

What’s everyone’s pump RPM and schedule?
I’m in the PNW and I’ve kept my pool open for the winter running pump 24/7.
Evenings are high 20s low 30s right now seems to be working just fine but inefficient. I have my heater off.
However, thinking about decreasing RPMs to save cost too.

I’ve always had irregular periods,’like once every two months, so i decided to get the nexplanon implant in hopes of regulating it. after the initial implant i bled for almost three months straight. then i would get my period every couple months. but recently its been more and more. went from every couple months, to every month, to every two weeks, to every other week, and now ive been on it for weeks straight. i have a few questions, 1. which IUD would be a better replacement 2. is this probably cause for insurance to cover removal 3. is this normal or signs of a uterine condition I’ve always suspected i have endometriosis but haven’t been able to get a gyno appt

2025.01.23 20:50 MegaFire03 What would be the proper etiquette? [Rental karts]
So im a noob when it comes to karting but I'm just wondering what the proper etiquette would be in the following situation:
On the straight i got my front wheels next to his back wheels and I've got the inside to the corner but my opponent just turns in without taking me into consideration forcing me to back out or run into the wall or him.
This basically happened 2 times, first time I was behind him before the corner but he took a really wide turn allowing to get alongside him but him not leaving any space on the apex causing me to collide with him. Now this was a bit of a dive bomb from me I guess so I thought maybe he didnt see it coming and i was in the wrong here but a then comes the straight I was talking about.
Now he had to know I was there but he still closed the door on me. I really wanted to overtake him so I didn't back down and then he scolded me for driving into him.
So basically is there an etiquette for leaving space when karting? There was another dude i was racing against and we both tried to give each other space and it was a lot of fun, then you still accidentally run into each other from time to time but giving each other space allows for way better racing and no crashing. shouldn't you always leave a karts width if your opponent has his nose next to your kart?

For Christmas, I got one of the Sanrio Mocchiri Kororin blind boxes. Though what I didn't know was that whoever was on the front of the box was the exact character you would get. For me, I got Hello Kitty because she was on the box. Had I known how that worked, I would've wanted the Pochacco one. Not that it matters, what matters is that if I get another one of these I would like to know the ingredients in the chewing gum that comes with the figure. I was hesitant to eat it because I know that most gum is sweetened with aspartame, which is something I can't have. Does anyone know what the ingredients are in the gum, and is aspartame (or some other artificial sweetener) in the gum?

This is so fucking confusing! She cheated while I was on vacation with a guy she didn’t even like and we shared 5 years together. I feel this desire that if we really wanted to we could make it work but I feel so fucking crazy for feeling this way. I have been in no contact with her and I don’t plan on reaching but if she does idek at this point if I have strength to walk away if she wanted to reconcile things and I’m scared of that. I thought she was the one and we had plans to move in together plus I was going to propose pretty shortly after that. I really loved her and I never thought she had it in her to cheat. What’s going on with me?

Hey all,
I suspect I know what this crowd will say, but wanted to get some perspective on travel to Central/South America with deportations looming in the US.
My kid has a school trip booked to Ecuador this upcoming summer, and while I've never had reservations around safety before now, I'm concerned about increased hostility (understandably) and retaliation toward US citizens in potentially impacted countries. Perhaps more so, I'm concerned about things going very awry here and my teenager not being able to get back into the country for whatever reason.
I won't claim to be any kind of expert on the region; I've never been. If I were going, too, I wouldn't be as worried: I have adult problem-solving skills and adult resources with which to navigate barriers (eg: having a passport stolen, hostile customs agents, etc) and assess risk, but the instability of our political situation in the States is making me trepidatious.
Thoughts? I'd love to hear from people living in/really familiar with the country, especially within the last 6 months or so.
(I included Central/South, because I don't want to characterize this as an Ecuador-specific concern; it's related to travel in areas where these policies will have disproportionate impact)
