2025.01.24 05:59 Southern-Basis-8305 Purchased a demon sounding Korg Concert 2500 electric piano - Any circuitry homies out there with advice?
1990 electric upright piano.
I picked up this electric piano today which the seller advised half the keys don't work.
I get home to test it and it is true that the right half of ht keyboard isnt working, but will play at random, distorted sounds, screeching and static.
After opening the body of the piano & checking for any obvious causes at each of the component, i didn't see any issues with the connections into the motherboard, however the main power module thing looks cooked.
Once the keys were removed from the piano, exposing the circuitry sensors so that the keys will activate on press, i started testing the board and it was consistent with the original problem, so i now know that its not any broken keys. When i tested the same areas with just the sensors on the circuitry (not using the piano keys), the exact pattern of sounds came from the speakers.
I also tested this with my headphones plugged via the jack and its the same as the inbuilt speakers of the piano.
Im going to clean the sensor circuitry with some isopropyl and try the sensors again. I have videos of the exact sounds it makes if this helps anyone, but reddit wont let me upload.
If anyone has some advice in this regard as to what i should consider doing to fix this? My main thoughts are if the power model (orange burnt looking thing) is to blame, then wouldn't it effect the whole keyboard, not half? if this would be the case, then i'd say the issues within the sensor circuit boards.

Hey all, I recently got free housing through an on-campus job. It's with two guys and two girls, all in single rooms but sharing just one bathroom. We're all coworkers, not really friends, which makes the vibe meh for me.
When we did the roommate agreement, I felt pretty overwhelmed. The college has some standard rules about guests (# of allowed guests is two at most, no more than three overnights every week, quiet hours, etc.,) and we added a few of our own, like giving a heads-up before having guests over. When I brought up the standard rules, 2 of my roommates were cool about finding a middle ground, especially since we all have our own needs. However, one of them was pretty resistant, saying that we should all do whatever we want since we live here in separate rooms. This stressed me out a lot, mainly because loud noises trigger my anxiety. I've explained that I can't handle shouting or loud sounds, like our two understanding roommates who talk on the phone late almost every day due to time zone differences with family (they said 5 hours). They've agreed to text if things get too loud, which helps.
However, the roommate who wants to 'do whatever' also said he cooks food at weird hours, like 3 or 4 AM. Once, I said cooking late at night is challenging, such as 3 or 4. Well, he said he sleeps until midnight and then starts his day. I said i understand your sleep schedule, and we've agreed to keep the volume down when cooking during late-night hours. He was stubborn when I said I'd prefer no guests during important days/time, like before interviews or exams. I'll see how this the ways
Btw I have a question about toilet paper usage now, and I'm living with girls for the first time. In just 10 hours, the two girls and the other guy went through 1.5 rolls. I left my dorm and went outside for 10 hours. We've used about one roll a day, even though we all have rotating overnight shifts for work, and it's about 17 hours, including given sleep hours. I'm the one who brought it to contribute, and even though we agreed to share essentials and split the cost, this seemed a bit much to me. Do you know if this is normal? I'll pay more than I used to. Before we even agreed on sharing basics like toilet paper, I noticed they had already started using (and replacing) my rolls from the bathroom shelf without asking. Lol, talk about making themselves at home.

- I'm sensitive to noise, and I also Told them about this. FYI, little soundproof between rooms Also told them I'm swamped this semester w academics, 2 jobs, internship/job, and extracurricular.
- Got free, gender-neutral housing through work; shared with 3 roommates (one guy and two girls)
- I feel overwhelmed by roommate dynamics, especially during the agreement process.
- Issues with noise due to different schedules and needs; found some compromise.
- Curious about toilet paper usage—seems high compared to living with just guys. I never lived with girls before.

I currently have a hand grinder (1ZPresso J Max) and want to upgrade to an electric one. I'm thinking about Lagom Casa 65CL or Timemore 64s and would like to know your opinion on them. I'm also open to other suggestions. Here's a little more info if it help: I make espresso and pour over (one for wife one for myself) every motioning, so being able to easily switch between the two is important for me. I use medium or medium dark for espresso, and medium light for pour over. Lastly, my budget is around $500, compact design, low noise and low retention are a plus.

Purchased a 1970s 2 story 4bd home and it has phone lines everywhere and coax in strange places. Had an electrician friend come look at it and he followed the coax cables and agreed to run ethernet for me but I need to figure out where I'd like the router and ethernet ports to be. The electric panel is in the garage (on the right). I know I want ethernet in the family room, recreation room (basement), and several of the bedrooms on the 2nd floor. I'm not sure on the router placement. Any suggestions or insight is greatly appreciated.

 | I have my Roblox logged into the website, and the app on two separate devices, my phone, and my art iPad which I mostly game on bc of the bigger screen, my phone is only logged into Roblox for avatar changes and such, BUT, every single day, it logs me out on the app on my phone without fail, on my main, AND alt accounts, ofc the IPad doesn’t ever log out but my phone does, I looked elsewhere and it’s not only happening to me.
