I left my job as a higher up in library administration because I was overworked. We were understaffed and underfunded, just like everywhere else, and my mental health was taking a serious hit. Also my direct boss didn't care about any of us underlings.
Now I am applying for jobs in the same field, and people know each other.
What do I say in an interview when I'm asked why I quit the previous job, without bad-mouthing the workplace or throwing the Director under the bus?
I have answered before that we were "perpetually understaffed" and it didn't seem like an answer they wanted to hear. Obviously, I have not gotten hired anywhere yet.

Hi! I am a 19 year old south asian kid. And so, birthdays aren't considered very important here, or atleast in my family, or atleast mine. Growing up, I've never really had a good birtday, and by that i dont mean that i never had a birthday with gifts and surprises, since that is too far fetched a dream for me. however, on each and every birthday of mine, something or the other has gone awry. sometimes, my parents had huge quarrels and fights ending up sorting i out on rigt the next day of my birthday, other times, somebody just had to take their anger out on me since im the youngest in the house, and thats how it works. one time, when i turned 16, my great grandmother had passed away just a day before my birthday, and at 17 my parents again had a huge fight. my dad hasnt mostly been with me during my birthdays, but mom has, and she made sure to shout at me for somthing or the other. to be clear,im not a nuisance child, however, im an average kid, who does have multiple hobbies but not completely excellent in them. so im not a kid to be particularly proud of, but i dont mostly give a reason for them to shout. this one time when i was about 8 or 9, i didnt want to attend the wedding of a very distant relative, snce it fell on my birthday, however my mom forced me to go there, and her entire da was spent in bashing me because i wouldnt get up from a place and mix with anybody unless somebody asked me to do so. today, was my 19th birthday, and by now, ive lost all hopes of a peaceful birthday. however, i made particularly sure everytime somebody else's birthday in the house came, to give them surprises,and gifts, and made them feel special, as much as i could. however, i dont expect those things in return i just didnt want to be scolded or shouted at, or any fights to take place. however, my father found out today, that my brother had broken is cars mirror and busted its tire a month ago(latter he knew already), however, instead of confronting him and talking things out with him peacefully, he started shouting at me, for closing the curtains of his room, when i clarified that i wasnt the one who did that, he started shouting at me for closing the curtains of my room and the door. to be precise, the door wasnt locked just, closed in a manner that if somebody pushed it would clearly open, his shouting quickly escalated to my career, my attitude, the way i always sit alone and the way i get hurt by the smallest of things( since atp i was crying as the reason why he was angry initially wasnt even my fault), my mother chimed in happily and then they continued shouting at me, till their anger was all drained, and the punching bag AKA me was quite and wasnt defending myself anymore. they said that they wouldnt accept my crying at all, even if i was alone and not infront of people. After some time ; Once, their anger faded, they started joking about how i was crying etc. and lightened their own moods up. Now, i feel really sad deep down, like something has been draining me on the inside. Im really trying to be happy or atleast pretending so, however i cant help feeling this way. So reddit, AITAH for sulking over a ruined birthday?
TLDR; parents shouted at me on my birthay for smtg i didnt do, and now i dont feel very good

Hi all, I have a shopify store for which I ran facebook ads but just stopped due to the costs per sale. Essentially not being profitable. MY products are aroun 23% usd so it's a little tricky to run profitable ads with tight margins.
