My supervisor asked that we look on our most recent SF-50s in box 24 under the tenure status and let them know what our number is. They said that anyone with a 2, or conditional, was on a list sent to Washington for review due to the hiring shitstorm.
A majority of our staff is new to fed within the last 8-10 months or was brought in 1.5 years ago under VRA/Schedule A/special hiring authority and has a 2.
This is worrying because I’m finally moving up into a higher GS level in an important position that has been vacant for over 6 years starting next monday. I was hired under special authority for my current position about 1.5 years ago and I believe was selected as such for this new position the same way. Am I going to get fucked over because mango Mussolini thinks firing people is a solution?

I know many of you are tired of reading but I'll try my best to make it worth your time (I hope so). So today morning while travelling to my college, I was listening to Solar Power. And that album just like pure heroine and melodrama is lyrically very good. But the thing is lorde pick up what she writes from the experience she had during those years of her writing process. Like when she wrote pure heroine, she wrote what it feels like to be a teenager, when she wrote melodrama, she wrote about her break-up and when she wrote solar power, she transitioned into this life which was sweet, stable, filled with alot of gold. And I guess same will go for L4. But the reason that we find pure heroine and melodrama more relatable is because of the topics, teenage angst and breakup, respectively. Whereas when solar power came we all were going through Covid and lorde had the privilege to find stability in that turmoil and new zealand did manage the whole pandemic at a much better level when compared to other countries. That's why I think solar power failed to garner the love it deserved.
So many of us are speculating that L4 will be a mix of melo-pure or melo-solar, to be very honest it might be but at the same point it might not be because lorde doesn't work like that she transitions from one phase of her life to another so if you really want to understand what L4 will be like, I guess someone has to closely observe her personal life.

My first and only relationship in a very long time ended very poorly over the summer when I coworker I was dating took off for another shift with a mutual friend of ours, to really oversimplify what happened. I’ve since got a pretty big load of new responsibilities and training dropped on me, I made it to the top and I have never ever ever been so alone since I got here. I need someone who I can talk to regularly, someone supportive and understanding, maybe someone who works in hazardous industrial environments who I can sympathize with? Maybe that’s too much to ask. I’m tired of coming home and not having anyone to talk to. I think what I’m looking for here is really an online girlfriend. It pains me to say it out loud like this but I need a cheerleader and I need to lead the cheer for someone else. I would prefer to start the conversation and then go over what could be mutual interests, feel free to ask away, I certainly will! Maybe someone to pseudo-hold and pseudo-hold me until we find something local? Please get in touch!

2025.01.24 14:30 Silent-Coder4559 23M, I have been diagnosed as potential Prostatitis by Urologist.
23M, I started having odd symptoms around early November 2024. Urinating was feeling off and I became extremely constipated. I went to a Urgent Care, Primary care and then Urologist. All scans/tests came back clear. I would have burning on the tip and it would feel tight in the shaft and almost slower flow. I had a CT scan done to eliminate kidney stones as I would sometimes have radiating pain in front left above waist and back area (like kidney stone). CT scan came back clear and the only thing they mentioned was I had a duplicating bilateral collecting system etc. I've been going to the urologist frequently and taken multiple urine tests and had them cultures. No STD/STI and no growth either. During this time I have taken Doxycycline Mono, Sulfomethoaxazole and more recently Cipro. I have been prescribed long periods of time on each of these and they "numb" the discomfort pretty well until they seem to stop numbing like Doxy did. I don't want to stay on Cipro for a long time if it might be just "numbing" and when it still feels off. The things I've read on here remind me of my symptoms. I get random bouts of constipation where I take a laxative and it clears up. I get random pain in my anus and it's slightly painful to wipe and I get the dripping at the end of urinating and I've been practicing double- voiding. Urologist has been diagnosing it as Prostatitis/Testitis before and I haven't been super pleased with his lack of care/patience with the diagnosis. No bacteria has been found in any of the tests. I don't like being on Cipro for as long as I have. (almost 2 weeks)
Those are everything so far, my urologist told me that if this medication didn't work that he would recommend using a camera to check my bladder etc. I've already had a CT scan and would rather not have to do this. I am ok with an ultrasound of the area first, but I'm starting to think it might be CPPS. I have a new primary care doctor appt. this weekend and am going to present this to him, I just know it's been very persistent and painful and want to make sure this is even a possibility.
Sidenote: I have had stress/anxiety issues and was working out in the gym right before this started. The fact that it's already been about 3 months is a bit concerning.

I've lived in the Richmond, VA area my entire life. In recent years we have been inundated with people moving down from Northern Virginia (NOVA). NOVAians are super-obsessed with politics. Every second of every minute of every waking hour they are thinking about politics or talking about politics. I get so tired of their questions. No, I don't know how blue or red a neighborhood is. No, I never read the Washington Post. No, I didn't catch what Trump said 45 minutes ago. When people are overly obsessed with politics, sports, or religion I generally avoid them like the plague. There are frequent complaints in the rva sub that Richmonders are unfriendly and cliquish. No one here is going to change their ways just to suite you. It's like a romantic relationship. You have to accept your new partner the way they are because they're not going to change the characteristics that you consider to be flaws. If you move to a new culture, you need to make the effort to adjust to that culture.
