2025.01.24 17:23 Opposite_Piano_5572 I don’t know what to do with my life
I turn 30 next month, and I have no idea what I want to do.
For the past 9 years, I wasted my 20s as I’ve been addicted to weed. I’ve managed to finally quit and I don’t plan to go back to it. I had debts that piled up, which I’ve now almost cleared, and I’ve started to build up some savings (for the first time in my life).
I’m currently working in telecoms sales, and it’s not a career for me, but the moment the money is very good and it’s helping me to build up my savings.
I haven’t really tried to date in a couple of years, and I’ve been single for a while. I also don’t have many friends, just a few friends that I’m not close with.
I’m not depressed all the time, but I always feel unfulfilled. I’d love to move abroad and start fresh, maybe in Asia, but I don’t have a degree and finding employment there is difficult.
I guess I’m just lost. I thought by 30 I’d have my own house, family and career, but I have none of that. I still live with my parents, without much money, and without a relationship.

2025.01.24 17:23 Deadaches Statement of purpose for Mechanical Engineering
Good evening everyone!
So I am currently writing a SoP for a Mechanical engineering master's degree coming from a pure physics (BSc) background. I read that it is wise to mention few courses of the program and STRONGLY emphasize how these particular courses would contribute to achieving my goal. However given the fact that mechanical eng. is quite a broad field and (due to my background) I really find interest in various and not necessarily related fields (for example robotics and aerodynamics or marine engineering), would it be wise to just be honest and state it as it is or should I find courses that supplement each other just to be safe and support my choice of the program? If any mechanical engineer had a similar issue I would really appreciate any input!

I used to play a game around 2002-2006 that was essentially a music industry simulator You would recruit singers and/or band members - record songs, market it etc if you made enough money / records you might create a record label and recruit better singers etc
What made it interesting is that it was all online so you're competing with other real user record labels and the charts / spending move accordingly. People even offered real life services to customise your labels brand and album cover for artists etc
I remember it mostly being yellow in theme a little pixely / cartoony
But can't find it anywhere
I imagine it has since been taken down but wondering if anyone has any memory of this game

2025.01.24 17:23 evilpaul POE injectie issues? Help upgrading ERX setup.
I posted this in the in the Ubiquiti sub with no comments so maybe a more diverse sub can help.
About 2-3 years ago I post on the Ubiquiti sub with a issue where my POE injector seemed was acting up with my ERX and AC Lite setup. I reset everything at the time, updated and it has been good. Since then I have got new internet, 1G up and down, but I started to have similar issues with the POE injector so I figured it might be a good time to upgrade and I like the options Ubiquiti has now.
Everyone once in a while internet kind of dips out maybe for a little bit and then comes back. Sometimes I restart the ERX and that's enough. The last 2 times I've restarted the ONT and network with no fix. I notice in the ERX status page, i can see the connection flashing on and off for the internet. I start to mess with moving the cables around, reseating, and in that process things seem to come back. This also tends to be around midnight. I don't know if this is just internet being weird or hardware issues but I rather not get stuck with no internet.
Thanks for staying with me this far. I know the ERX doesn't have symmetrical 1g routing and now I have internet to actually push that, I was looking at the Gateway Max. I only have 1 PC with a 2.5g port but I'm sure that will slowly change. I have a lot of hardwired stuff so I don't really think I need to upgrade my wifi even if it is old but I'd be open to suggestions. I have 1, Trendnet 8 port switch next to my ERX, 1 Trendnet 5 port switch a few rooms over in my living room for game consoles, and my Unifi AC Lite in the hallway that is POE. Seems like a good idea to upgrade to better switches and have it maybe do the POE stuff. I had looked into Mikrotik routers because I wasn't a fan of the dream machine but these newer gateways seem back in line with what I liked about Ubiquiti when I got the ERX.

In 2019-2020, I believe that an IM T injection hit my sciatic nerve (didn't seek medical care to confirm but I was unable to walk for 4 days after the injection bc of the pain 😵💫)
I don't have chronic pain now or anything and it doesn't affect my daily life, but I still feel like the nerve sometimes gets "stuck" when I stretch my legs in certain ways and hurts if I don't readjust my leg.
It's been multiple years, so I assume it's not going to heal more than this. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this? If so, did you find anything that makes it better?

2025.01.24 17:23 Exphen Issues with the audio installed with the latest AMD adrenaline drivers
Hi, i'm getting more and more issues with the latest audio driver (installed with AMD adrenaline)
It's either the following : - the audio is completely gone sometimes when i turn on the pc, so no choice but to reboot it and it's usually fine - the audio is there however there's audio cuts pretty often during gameplay - some days the audio is just fine and there's no cuts or anything.
I've seen this pattern for weeks and i'm starting to get worried. I've read other threads on this forum, should i reinstall older graphic drivers perhaps and get rid of AMD adrenaline ? Apparently for some people it helped a lot... The latest drivers doesn't seem to be the most stable ones.
