Fourth, if you have any problems, please talk them out with your team leader. It's not good to hold things in. I am sure that most, if not all, team leaders will listen to you if you just reach out to them. Don't just push it aside and forget about it.

2025.01.24 17:28 drunkenoctopusbarber Hospital’s online portal showing different bill total than the email they sent me
I went to the ER with abdominal pain the day after Christmas. Turned out I had acute diverticulitis with perforations and needed emergency surgery that they performed that day. Also, I am uninsured. Anyways they did the surgery and I have been out of the hospital for about three weeks. I logged into the online portal to check on my bill and it shows $2749. However I received an email last week and the bill is over $29k. Now when I click the link to view my bill details from that email it brings me to the online portal where it still only shows $2749. Is this normal? Should I call the hospital billing department and ask about this? Or should I play dumb and just pay the smaller bill that’s showing up in the portal? I do plan on getting an itemized bill but I’m just hoping to god the larger bill has somehow slipped through the cracks and won’t show up on my account. Anyone experienced anything like this?

My friend was talking about buying some apex packs with some extra cash he had laying around and I convinced him to pick the game up with the dlc's instead. Within 5 minutes of us playing he was gushing about how fun the game was and how glad he was that he bought it, even talking about sharing it with some of his own friends. It felt really wholesome to spread the good word that is this game and save a fellow gamer from gambling his hard earned money away. Now he gets hundreds of hours of quality rather than disappointing loot from apex packs.

Has anyone ever experienced this error: my 2024 jeep wrangler Sahara 4xe shut off completely and a service charging system light came on. It wouldn’t shift into neutral or anything. I ended up having to unhook the battery and hook it back up to get it to run again. I have it scheduled for a service but I just want to know if this has happened to anyone else? If it was able to be fixed? Anything you learned?

I’m a special category employee (air traffic) who bought back more than 5 years of military service. I am currently sitting at about 18 1/2 years “good” time. The question is: can I retire at age 48 1/2 with 20 good years, and more than 25 years total federal service? I previously did not think so, but a coworkers understanding of Dan Jamison’s book has brought this into question.

This sort of excessive over-reach with zoning & code enforcement, in order to attack both the homeless & those who provide them with needed services, seems to be a common ploy lately by those bad gov officials who would rather see us all dead.
In our own city, our corrupt city council actually hired a dedicated homeless hunter within the Code Compliance Dept, who has been aggressively twisting & breaking the law, in order to intentionally harass & attack our city's homeless population! Just a couple nights ago, I had a local cop complain to me that he had personally witnessed this guy violating the law in order to go after the homeless!
We need to put a stop to this nonsense.

i moved states so me and my ex lived together for months. as you can imagine all of my stuff was there. memorabilia, technology, gaming consoles, and more. me and my ex had a verbal agreement when i left that he would ship my items to me because i couldn’t fit all of them in my car. but now, he’s changed his mind, blocked me on everything, and refuses to talk to me. i have messages of him saying he intended to take my stuff. my brother had also sent him money for shipping my belongings and he kept the money and didn’t send me packages. now he’s threatening to throw away my stuff. is this something i can sue him over? or take legal action in any way?

One of my favorite ongoing economic stats is the fact that the U.S. economy has been in a recession for just two months out of the past 15-and-a-half years.
We’ve been in a recession just 1% of the time since the end of the Great Financial Crisis in the summer of 2009.
Sure, there have been some bumps along the way but the U.S. economy has been remarkably resilient throughout the 2010s and 2020s.
Recessions used to be far more prevalent in the United States.
Using data from the National Bureau of Economic Research, I calculated the percentage of time we were in a recession in every decade going back to the 1900s:
The U.S. economy spent a lot of time in a recession during the first four decades of the 20th century. It basically took World War II to change the economic landscape.
Some people might quibble with economic data from 100+ years ago and that’s fair but this makes sense when you think about it. The U.S. economy is far more dynamic and mature these days. We were still more or less an emerging economy back then. There are more checks and balances in place today that didn’t exist in the old days.
But the trend is clear — our economy is contracting at a far lower rate than it did historically. This is progress.
The stock market isn’t the economy but bad economic times are typically bad for the stock market.1
