Your local, small vet clinic might now be owned by a large corporation whose goal is to maximize shareholder profits, over providing quality care for fair market prices. Monopolies are bad folks.
Have you noticed the cost of taking your pet to the vet has jumped significantly in recent years? I sure have and lots of people I know have noticed the same. Of course, inflation has affected the veterinary care industry like all the rest, but also SO MANY small, local clinics have been bought out by large corporations (VCA, Vet Strategy, etc.) in the past few years. The clinic might look the same, have the same staff and may not advertise the change, but the ownership may have changed. You might be taking your pet to see the same vet you always have, and that vet may no longer have any say over the pricing. Most vet clinics are businesses, not non-profits but the switch to corporate ownership means a move to "extract value" from the business via charging you a lot more for your pet's care. CBC has recently done a Marketplace investigation into this available on CBC Gem and YouTube. They also have a tool available online to see who owns the clinic you take your pets to. I was surprised to find the small, local clinic I've taken my pets to for the past decade is now owned by Vet Strategy. This is not great, especially if local competition is eliminated by these growing monopolies.

So about 1-3 months ago my gpu has been underperfoming its 6700xt radeoon gigabyte edition.I saw that recently my gpu has been getting fucked. In many games my fps dropped about 10%-30% im thinking i have a bitcoin miner in my pc
specs 12400f,6700xt,32 gigs of ram 3200 mhz, psu i think 600-700 watts, The cooling is not a issue my temps are 60c
and also my gpu hasnt had theese types of problems and i realy dont want to factory reset my pc :(

Hi,
My wedding venue sells a package with food, catering, and extra services like Photobooth, photographer, DJ included. As well, we are getting each of our guests drink tickets. The wedding is $27,000 and they will not tell us what the $400 in GST is being charged on. When I emailed them they said “we will settle it after the wedding in case you return drink tickets, etc.”
My question is, if the wedding is before Feb 15, is there anything that they are charging us for that should cost $400 in GST? Shouldn’t the drinks be exempt from GST until the deadline?
Drinks tickets amount to ~$2400

I've been seeing a therapist for two months now and all he does is say he doesn't understand why I believe some of my contamination concerns. He will say "I don't understand. That can't happen." I think the problem is that I have researched some of this stuff for years while he doesn't know anything about it and when he tells me my concern is not valid, I will get defensive and explain how he doesn't even know about the topic so why would I listen to him? It just feels like he's calling me stupid when he looks at me weird and says he doesn't get it. Is this therapy for OCD? Am I just supposed to listen to someone when they say things can't happen and then just snap out of it? The whole session today was him telling me that my concerns won't happen and at the end said he doesn't think it's working because I didn't just say OMG YOU'RE RIGHT. NO MORE WORRYING ABOUT THAT.

Background and Objectives: Metabolic syndrome (MS) represents several diseases encompassing a heterogeneous group of biochemical and physiological abnormalities characterized by structural and functional alterations in the myocardium, including the endothelium of the coronary arteries. MS also affects a substantial portion of the global population. Understanding the risk factors, the development and treatment associated with MS are of paramount importance for early identification, treatment and prevention. This study was designed to evaluate the role of the supplementation of omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (n-3 PUFAs) on endothelial function in patients with MS.
Materials and Methods: A total of 80 patients with MS were enrolled in two groups. The study evaluated endothelial function (EF) in subjects before and after a three-month treatment with n-3 PUFAs in a dose of 2.4 g daily (800 mg, three times a day) vs. placebo, using an Endo-PAT2000 device (Itamar Medical Ltd., Caesarea, Israel) measuring the reactive hyperemia index (a parameter of EF) and augmentation index (a parameter of arterial stiffness). Plasmatic levels of glutathione peroxidase, homocysteine, apolipoprotein B and lipoprotein were also evaluated for comparison.
Results: The results showed that the average value of reactive hyperemia index before the treatment with n-3 PUFAs was 1.62 ± 0.42, compared to 1.96 ± 0.62 at the end of the study (p < 0.005). The augmentation index changed from 14.66 ± 19.55 to 9.21 ± 15.64 after the treatment (p = 0.003) with n-3 PUFA. The results also revealed a statistically significant decrease in apolipoprotein B (0.94 ± 0.36 vs. 1.13 ± 0.35, p = 0.001) and homocysteine (19.31 ± 5.29 vs. 13.78 ± 3.05, p = 0.001) and an increase in glutathione peroxidase plasma levels (41.65 ± 8.90 vs. 45.20 ± 8.01), p = 0.001.
Conclusions: The results of this prospective study showed a significant improvement in EF in subjects with MS treated with n-3 PUFAs in a dose of 2.4 g daily.
