My partner has a fairly argumentative personality. In the right setting, he is understanding and thoughtful.
Most of our arguments are a result of poor communication that spirals into days long fights.
I struggle with anxiety and can get worked up in these types of situations. He has a hard time anytime I need space or to walk away. But he also has a hard time letting things go when I say I don't want to talk about it or want to move on from a topic because it's trending toward an argument. He has the hardest time with things that are triggers for me because to him the reaction doesn't match the situation so, he has a hard time dropping the topic.
Most recently, we were watching a show that touched on mental health, addiction struggles, childhood violence, etc and I didn't want to watch it anymore. I tried to explain to him that what he was finding interesting, was more triggering for me and I just want enjoying it. He couldn't let the subject go because he "didn't get it". I asked to watch something else, stated I didn't want to talk about it, tried to explain that we were having different experiences (I experienced a lot of violence as a kid) and he wouldn't stop pressing the why. I got pissed and walked away and he mumbled a "Jesus fucking christ" as I did. I yelled as I walked away and told him "I tried to tell you it was triggering, asshole". I shouldn't have called him that and unfortunately, that's all he's going to remember about the fight now.
I don't know what to do to not get to that point. I feel like he pushes me to the absolute limit and then gets mad at me for being there.
I hate that I feel like it fights being out the worst in me in that way. It never goes beyond that, but it usually doesn't stop until it gets there. I don't know how else to say "I don't want to talk about this" and get him to hear me and respect that over his own.. need to understand.. I guess I'll call it. I don't think it's malicious but it does cause him to blow past whatever boundaries I try to set. He will also be mad at me for "running away" in this instance.
I guess I'm just looking for any advice or anyone that can relate.

so i started working on this blanket to gift to a family member but i don’t know how i should proceed
basically, my nannie used to crochet and made us all blankets when we were young. all of the blankets are a big granny square and most of them use one solid color yarn and one multi color yarn in stripes like the picture above. when she passed i was gifted her yarn stash and haven’t really used any of it. i decided to use one of the balls of yarn from her stash in this blanket (the solid pink color) but quickly realized i would not have enough for the whole thing.
anyways my question is, should i just keep making the blanket with the multi color yarn or try to find a similar pink to the one in the middle? i’m just worried it will look awkward with just a few stripes in the middle. but i’m also worried that i won’t be able to find a similar pink as this yarn could have been bought anywhere from ten to twenty years ago lol. lemme know what you guys think! thanks!

First time buyer here, I’ve found condos with hoas in the 100s and 200s for about 75-100k cheaper than single family homes with no hoa.
So what’s better? Im currently renting an apartment and if I don’t buy a home this year I will probably continue renting an apartment so no difference there as far as annoying neighbors because you’re in an apartment/condo.

I have a 2010 with 185k I bought new and have been doing all the routine maintenance (by the schedule in the owner manual) since about 75k miles. Before that I had dealer do it as Ford used to have excellent customer rewards. It never occurred to me to change trans fluid and the book doesn’t call for it. The past year and a half it’s not shifting like it should (auto) and I researched what to do.
Read stories on ranger forums about guys saying if you’ve waited till after 100k you’re asking for major problems, and ended up hearing the same while watching Scotty Kilmer videos. I’d been nervous to do it, hearing it could make the trans completely shit the bed and then need a rebuild - a job I don’t think I could do and don’t want to pay a shop to do.
Long story short I did change the trans oil today and everything seems fine. Seems to shift smoother and late shifts and hard shifts seem to be gone. I did sweat a bit when I first fired it up because I had no reverse at first but after about 3 minutes it kicked in. Drove about 15 miles and got up to highway speed and no problems.
The oil did still have the red color, but obviously with a cast of black from the internal wear of the friction of the metal parts inside. It was not brown and smelled much like new oil.
Something odd, the pan either did not have a full gasket like the replacement filter came with, or it disintegrated over time. There is a rubber bead in the transmission case that the collection pan bolts up to, but it doesn’t seem like much of one. It was pretty much flat, and amazingly it didn’t leak much; I’ve never had to add trans oil.
I was hoping it would turn the OD OFF light (flashing) off but it didn’t. It comes on blinking after about five minutes of driving and stays on until the car is turned off. I have asked in this forum and I think people have said it could be a speed sensor, maybe located on the rear diff. It doesn’t bother me, but I’ve read it kind of acts like a transmission check engine light. I will connect my scanner and clear the system to see if that keeps the OD light from coming on.
Just wanted to share in case this helps anyone

I took out the max living costs for my first year of uni (2024) and my loan is at 11k at the moment. I still have about 4.5k that i'm slowly chipping at because I have had low wages at my part-time. I have savings that I don't want to touch if I don't have to. Should I pay back what I haven't spent of my student loan to limit its size or not worry about it since it's interest free?
Not getting any parental help with fees and I'm doing a 5 year degree so a bit worried about the debt I will end up with. Thanks.
