Hi All,
I own an audio/video event production company, we do a lot of work for non-profit organizations. Almost always we offer a non-profit discount. We are typically setting up equipment for the client at a hotel ballroom, for an annual awards dinner for example.
Our typical invoice will contain two main groups of items:
- Stuff; rental projectors, microphones, sound systems etc (things we own and rent out often). Sometimes it includes items that we need to purchase for that client, for that event. Such as flowers for table decor.
- Staff: We assign a dollar value for our event & technical staff required to execute the event. $500 for the audio engineer, $300 per set up person etc.
We receive letters from the non profit acknowledging the donation.
My CPA say this makes me a nice guy, but its not tax deductible.
What am I missing?

People who believe in determinism (and thus absence of free will) - when they are trying to convince others of determinism - aren't they violating their belief?
As in what's their rationate? If they truly believe in determinism, why are they putting in the effort to write about it or do podcasts or make videos about it? Whether someone will be convinced or not is already determined!
Is it that, while they are going through the motions of doing something ... they are thinking "I am doing this as I was predetermined to?".
I don't have a hard time wrapping my head around determinism, but around how people who agree with it live ... unless of course they suspend that belief in their day to day life.

 | Afternoon all, The gas cap on my 990 supermoto has got very stiff to lock and unlock, I'm afraid that the key will start bending. It makes a squeak like sticky rubber being dragged around, but no amount of silicon lube, or polish applied to the gap (pic 2) seems to help. I can't work out how to dismantle the lock to oil it properly, so I'm running out of ideas.
