2025.01.31 01:21 timelessbuddha Couch Gaming: Game Stream (SteamLink/MoonLight) vs Long HDMI? [long post]
Essentially I’m trying to figure out the best way to play my PC games on from the couch while minimizing latency / input lag and looking to take any suggestions. Currently my PC is in a small room besides my “living room” area where my couch is. The distance itself theoretically isnt that far but allowing for the cable to go around the wall etc and I’m probably looking at about a 25-30ft HDMI to be safe, I read recently that a standard HDMI cable that length might cause me some problems and I’d need some special type of HDMI cord about $40-50 bucks.
my initial plan involved taking an old laptop (i5-7700, gtx 1050) leaving it plugged up to my TV almost like a console and using Steam Link to stream games from my Gaming PC however since both my Gaming PC and the Laptop are both currently only on WiFi the experience was less than optimal & there was an unsatisfying input lag imo on the TV, as well as intermittent stutters due to what I believe is the WiFi.
I’ve been meaning to get myself a MoCa adapter for myself here in the basement to be able to get some ethernet/hard wiring capability for my PC for a while anyways. All in all to get the desirable MoCa setup for myself here in the basement I’m gonna be looking at around $100ish but with that I’d be able to hookup both my gaming PC and Laptop via ethernet to the same switch to hopefully solve the latency/input delay issues that I think are being caused by WiFi.
I guess my question is would the experience be good now using Steam Link and or possibly Moonlight/Sunshine with the MoCa setup with my PC and Laptop or will it be smoother using an extended 25 ft HDMI? Not necessarily on a budget but I’d also rather not spend extra money on another HDMI cord that may not work ideally as I want to. Looking to peoples thoughts also on if having the MoCa setup in general will be a better QoL update by providing the ability to hardwire my PC by my desk? and if overall it’d be more beneficial than NOT getting it and buying the special HDMI cord solely to connect directly from my gaming PC to the TV?

Saved before taking the elevator with Misty, so I'll try the other endings out. I took the Aldecados ending and man, this game is something special. I held off on it for a few years for the bugs and glitches to get worked out and I'm glad I did.

Hi, so me and my friends have this friend group, and the main girl (rainy for privacy reasons) she is like acting weird. She is turning the other two girls against me, I even left the group chat to take a mental break from them. And they didn’t even bat an eye, I asked to rejoin and they didn’t even fully let me, I HAD TO BEG to rejoin. I got re invited and they made a new group chat to talk about me. I know about the other group chat due to a mutual friend. And recently they have just been very off with me, her birthday is going to be celebrated with the other two girls. Which is okay with me, but she told me she was going to invite me which is why im bringing this fact up. Should I leave the group chat or do I just stay and deal with it?

Hello! I live in a 1700 square ft house with three roommates, and I run a custom pet supply business in my home. I use a part of the living room for a small retail display when clients come over, a storage room, the kitchen for hand-dyeing rope, and my bedroom for office work/ making products.
Our total rent is (2100) + (440 utilities/internet). My portion of the rent is $525, and utilities $110. The arrangement I have with my roommates is that they pay me their portion of the rent and utilities every month, and I pay the bills and the landlord.
The problem with this is I'm not quite sure how to approach this in my Quickbooks, should I make two journal entries for only my portion of rent/ utilities, or have all of my roommates E-transfers in my Quickbooks? I've been doing the latter, but now that I'm trying to apply for a business loan my quickbooks makes it look like my Roommates payments are sales and won't keep them as expenses.
How should I go about recording my home office expenses, and how would I claim my space used in the house for business?

Welcome to Night City, the new Gomorrah, a place where legends are born and die, where opportunity and danger go hand in hand, and where you, fortunately or not, live.
So yeah, this is a Cyberpunk based OC x OC rp, with little to no fandom knowledge required. The plot is also pretty loose, but the general idea is a romance involving two women in Night City. Aside from that, we could play mercs, corporate agents, cops, gangsters, or just regular people trying to survive the city. There's about as much potential for storylines as there is in Night City itself! Personally, though, I think mercs or something along those lines would be the most fun.
Some details about me as a roleplay partner:
-Firstly, I'm available pretty much all day every day. 'Course sometimes I'll want a break or something, but I can write often. -I write 2-4 paragraphs per post typically, sometimes more. -Fine with third or first person. -Discord required. -I love chatting ooc. Let's be friends! -I'm about as literate as you'd guess from reading this post. -I like to find refs throughout the rp whether that be for the scenery, soundtracks, various characters, outfits, etc. -I can play multiple characters, but focus on one 1x1. Side characters are always fun though.
Anyway, I'd prefer all my partners to be 20+ at least since I'm 27 myself. Anyone younger than that makes me feel like a fossil, sorry. If you weren't alive when Madagascar came out, you're too young to talk to me.
