Hello, everyone! I really hope you're all doing well ❤️ I'm really sorry about this, I will try to keep it short. Have been seeing someone since summer 2023. We first saw each other then and continued messaging here and there throughout most of 2024 (my fault that happened), meeting again summer of 2024 (maybe just over a year later.) We started meeting more regularly, felt like there was a connection (they said it too) and became close. Winter 2024, started to feel like we weren't talking as much like we used to so asked if they were still interested which they said yes to. We weren't talking for days (around 5) until I would reach out after being the one to be left on read. They had their reasons, it's completely understandable and told them that it's okay if they told me they weren't interested anymore; they said they would tell me. The lack of messaging still continued (we weren't meeting too) which caused me to overthink and caused anxiety and stress; in the heat of it, I broke things off which was a huge mistake and told them that. I said sorry and left them be, turns out they were on holiday but had no idea at all. I told them I would still like to continue, apologising for my mistake. The lack of communication is still continuing (we talked about the breaking things off situation, they said I was overthinking that I hurt them by doing that), they have their reasons but I still have the feeling like they are no longer interested. I asked if they would like to do an activity together sometime but they offered suggestions instead of a yes or no answer, we talked about doing that activity together in the past. I've told them everything how I feel, have asked them but no definite answer. I'm leaving them be (have asked them if they like to be alone at times which they said yes, I'm respecting their boundaries and trying to leave it up to them to get in touch) but not sure whether to stay hopeful (which causes the overthinking then anxiety/worry and stress) or accept that they have lost interest (I still really like them and loyalty is a strong belief of mine that I love to follow, they still were interested in meeting again when we were just messaging for almost a year - Late 2023 and most of 2024), do you guys think I'm overthinking all this? Do you think they've lost interest (it's been a week since we last messaged each other) and what would you do in this situation? Thank you, everyone! ❤️
TLDR; I feel like they've lost interest, have asked them but no definite yes or no answer which is causing overthinking/anxiety/worry and stress. They have their reasons which is very understandable, it's been a week since we've been in touch and leaving it to them to get back in touch (respecting their boundaries after being the one to reach out) with me being the one to be left on read most of the time. We don't message as much like we used to and haven't met in a while, have initiated with an activity but no definite yes or no answer. I'm staying hopeful as I really believe in loyalty (they were still interested after not meeting for a while and just messaging at the very beginning, before we developed a connection) and have told them to tell me if they have changed their mind about things (reassuring them that it will be okay), they said they will and haven't had a definite yes or no answer yet ❤️
