 | Something I see all the time is the idea that the Kelvin Timeline is a branch reality created when the Romulan miner Nero, his crew, and the Narada were sucked into a red matter black hole in the year 2387 and emerged in the year 2233. The moment Nero emerged from the black hole, an entirely new reality was created. Here are thoughts on the matter by Simon Pegg, actor portraying Montgomery Scott and writer of Star Trek Beyond: "With the Kelvin timeline, we are not entirely beholden to existing canon, this is an alternate reality and, as such is full of new and alternate possibilities. “BUT WAIT!” I hear you brilliant and beautiful super Trekkies cry, “Canon tells us, Hikaru Sulu was born before the Kelvin incident, so how could his fundamental humanity be altered? Well, the explanation comes down to something very Star Treky; theoretical, quantum physics and the less than simple fact that time is not linear. Sure, we experience time as a contiguous series of cascading events but perception and reality aren’t always the same thing. Spock’s incursion from the Prime Universe created a multidimensional reality shift. The rift in space/time created an entirely new reality in all directions, top to bottom, from the Big Bang to the end of everything. As such this reality was, is and always will be subtly different from the Prime Universe. I don’t believe for one second that Gene Roddenberry wouldn’t have loved the idea of an alternate reality (Mirror, Mirror anyone?). This means, and this is absolutely key, the Kelvin universe can evolve and change in ways that don’t necessarily have to follow the Prime Universe at any point in history, before or after the events of Star Trek ‘09, it can mutate and subvert, it is a playground for the new and the progressive and I know in my heart, that Gene Roddenberry would be proud of us for keeping his ideals alive. I woke up this morning with the intent of buying the brown daryl hoodie and the bambi shirt, ended up leaving with the geneva blue hoodie and milk socks. I knew the prices before hand, but when I went to pay it just felt like way more at that moment. Also, the brown daryl hoodie was already sold out when I went to buy which wasnt the best.

I have a ton of separate clips added to a sequence. I then use that sequence as the source for text-editing, pasting the selections I want into the destination sequence.
Unfortunately, I’ve noticed some gaps between the clips in the source sequence. I’d like to remove these gaps, but when I do, the content in the destination sequence changes (I assume because referenced timestamps are no longer correct.
Is there any way to solve for this, or do I just need to leave the gaps in place, to keep timestamps for text-edit pasted clips correct?

I currently own a Rane four and my primary setup at home is to connect my controller to my medium sized Onn speaker with RCA. When I DJ out, I’ve borrowed my friend’s mixer and speakers, using RCA to the mixer and 1/4” from the mixer to the speaker (I had a ddj-sb3 at the time). I’m thinking of buying a mixer for myself now and upgrading my equipment eventually, and have been doing some research into mixers. Apparently, I need to get an XLR to 1/4” cable to connect to the mixer, but I’m wondering if two cables are needed if I’m setting my Rane four to mono output. I’m aware that RCA requires both cables to prevent a drop in volume, but I have no experience with XLR output to know if it’s still the same case. Just not sure if I should buy one or two xlr to 1/4” cables if I plan to invest in a mixer.
