I finally watched Interstellar with my brother the other day & when the dust/magnet messages started happening, I immediately said turned to my brother & said, “That’s him though, right? From the future? Probably using Morse code or something?”. Obviously I was wrong about the Morse code part as it was binary code, but… Anyways, after the movie was over, my brother said I have to learn to turn off my brain & just enjoy things, but I have not idea what he’s talking about. Your mind makes connections, you can’t exactly control it. I’m not sure I could pay attention to a complex movie if part of my brain is turned off. I still really enjoyed the movie.

Any argument for or against Helena or Helly can be explained away at a later point. We have evidence for both, but we do not have proof. Largely because the situation we're in right now is unique for all characters, and we don't have enough reference data to extrapolate exactly, conclusively how each would behave, and also because the show intentionally withholds certain bits of information and selectively feeds us others.
This seems to be what the creators wanted. (Although honestly, at this point I'm not sure I'm such a big fan of this ambiguity, because it blurs our idea of the characters themselves and trivializes them into a mystery box, if that makes sense.) Basically, it's just a fun thing to speculate over, but there's no reason to get too attached to any POV.
Even if she did show you her belly and there was no pouch, "proves nothing".

Hello, docs! Just hoping to get more information on dialysis / HD center duties before trying such duty.
Can you share what are the Dialysis / HD Center Tasks and Rate for us GPs? And what is the usual schedule?
Is there anything I could study to better prepare for it? And is it a good choice to do HD duties? Is it easy to get such jobs?
To be honest: I'm really scared to do any moonlighting duty, but my training starts November 2025 pa. And I've been getting offers, reliever in a clinic, dialysis / HD center, and even as a GP together with a specialist.
Very grateful for these options, but I am really scared to harm any patient since I'm scared and not that confident to go on duties alone :( But since training starts later months pa, I thought I should try to take on any of the said opportunities while waiting.
Any advice would be very much welcome. Thank you so much

Hi everyone,
I've been playing modern over the past several years but I'm interested in checking out Pioneer. I'm fairly comfortable with the modern meta (our LGS has modern for FNM every week) and I've participated in RCQs on a regular basis. With Pioneer I have no idea where to get started.
For example, what do mana bases look like? Are they mostly fast lands, shock lands or pathway lands? I'd imagine surveils aren't as good because of the lack of fetch lands? Do the new duskborn lands see play? I also don't know what the staples are - I'd imagine cards like push, thought seize, etc. see play. But what is used instead of bolt? What are the common wrath spells, etc?
I've checked out the "meta" decks on MTG Goldfish, but I would appreciate any other advice folks could provide.
For reference my favorite Modern deck is Hardened Scales, I also play Jeskai Control, and more recently Jund Saga.
Thanks for any advice you can offer to get me started.

Yes, this is yet another post about the dilution of the "aesthetics" of Magic and how Spongebob is one-step-too-far and the game is now officially dead. Even when we're getting a new in-world set, every other comment about Aetherdrift is powerful but "I can't get into it because Magic doesn't have cars".
Magic's aesthetics have historically followed one of two lines: western fantasy and the exoticizing and exaggeration of ancient cultures (see Kamigawa, Theros, Tarkir, Ixalan). At the same time, Magic has been perceived as a game for white males, and nerdy ones at that. And yes, people of color, like myself, have always played magic, but any nerd of color has been told that they're acting white for having a hobby like MTG at one point of their life.
So what have the aesthetics of Magic given its players for its first 25ish years? Visuals and aesthetics created mostly by white dudes that allowed players to associate themselves with the imagery that they felt aligned with their power fantasies and escapism. Is this universally true? Of course not, but its a part of a lot of the media we consume. In particular, as a man I know how often we are consciously or unconsciously trying to assert our status, and in capitalism we do that through what we own.
Nowadays Magic looks very different. My pod and my LGS is a lot more diverse than what the historical stereotype has been. Some of the most prominent figures and creators in Magic are people of color, women, and queer folks.
On one hand UB has brought in a ton of players, that's undeniable, but on the other hand the aesthetic expansion of the Magic universe has brought in imagery and settings I believe makes a broader swath of people feel welcome: representation in the form of not only race, but also showing diversity of attitudes, personalities, activities, ways of living, etc. A Magic universe where not everything is conquest-oriented violence.
With all that said, this all may be stretch, but we're a lot dumber and more susceptible to these things than we think, myself first and foremost. I love Magic and I want everyone to passionately enjoy the aspects of it that they do, and coming to this subreddit to read how everything sucks everyday is so discouraging and uninviting.
Some of y'all are yucking my yum, but I also think some of y'all are yucking your own yum because you don't want to loosen up and play a card that doesn't align with your concept of self.

So this is just me feeling pumped. This morning i got up at rode 19.6km, elevation 260m and avg 17.8kph. I posted in another thread my medical condition and limitations but I am just pumped with todays effort. I get no warm up for my legs, it is out the door and 54m or 65m of elevation immediately depending on route. I can’t post my strava screen shot showing my elevation today. It also has me pumped as this caps off the week at 76.86km ridden, elevation gain 989m. Throw in I have also swum 550m of freestyle and walked 500m in the pool. This is probably just a daily ride for some of you, but I am 30kg overweight, only been 2wks back on a bike after 5yrs and have a major medical condition which does limit me somewhat.

2025.02.01 23:04 NewCelebration2290 Most enjoyable characters to use as a ameutur player in each class (In my opinion)
Don't get me wrong, I think almost every hero can be enjoyable to use if you use them right, but as an amutur player who don't got time or willpower to learn how to play spiderman, but also don't want to be a bot user who plays only MK, Squirrel girl or other simple to use characters, here are my personal picks. (Also, no hate people, personal opinion
Vanguard, Peni Parker
Peni is such an enjoyable character to use. She is literally a spider robot with bombs, or how Majik would say it "Spider bomb robot". She also has a really fun ult where you can just ram into the enemy team and blow them the hell up. What really makes her fun to use is her ability to ult cancel characters like: Scarlett Witch, iron man, magneto, and a couple other characters who can just blow you team up.
Another good option is Doctor Strange, his portal ability to make some sick plays is really fun to use. He is also another character who can Ult cancel
DPS, Bucky
Bucky can be such a great character to use, exprecialyl if you have a rocket team up. What really make me enjoy playing him is his Ult though. Even though it can be difficult to pull off sometimes, melting the entire team can send a hell of alot of adrenaline in your veins (also, I saw a video where he uses his grapple ability and throw people off the map)
Another good option is Hawkeye, being FR, Hawkeye is NOT difficult to use. And personally, I enjoy one shotting people, expecially Scarlett Witch Mid Ult (also a great option to harass the hell out of the back line
Strategist, Invisible woman
She is by far my favorite character to use for one reason and one reason only. "Psyonic Burst/Pull". Im in love with launching people off the map, and she is really, really easy to do it with
Another good option is CD although CD is really really easy to use, she can also be fun to use if you use her right. Its really amusing to me when I get pushed into a 1v1 with Iron fist, who is prob thinking that it will be an easy kill and I manage to kill him (people forget that she can heal herself which damaging an opponent). She also can ult counter almost every ult, which is really fun to do especially since people forget about it and are def heated when the entire team surivives a sure death.
