Haven't posted here in a while but I've got a new story! This one just happened today, but the buildup has been for about two months now. We're sent holiday staffing surveys to cover upcoming holidays, and being a good little worker bee I volunteered for two four hour time frames, and did not volunteer for an eight hour time frame that covered both of them.
First, I never received an email when they chose who'd be working Thanskgiving. I assumed I was home free.
Come today, I check my schedule just in case and see that I've got an eight hour shift on Thanksgiving when I specifically answered I'd only work 4 hour shifts for Thanksgiving. I bring this up with my manager to ask what's going on there, and she has me comb through my email (reasonable) and gets with our Workforce Management to see what's going on. It turns out they gave me two of the 4 hour shifts to combine to that 8 hour shift. I never volunteered for the 8 hour shift, but they decided to give me both shifts. I did raise a little fuss about this, was told that it "didn't look good" and that they had to find someone else to cover, but the Workforce Management team never emailed me or else I would've gotten this straightened up much sooner.
Regardless, manager got it fixed and I'm working the half shift I volunteered for on Thursday but I'm not super appreciative of how I was given a little guilt tripping over establishing some boundaries, asked for a justification as to why I only volunteered for the 4 hour shifts and most importantly told it 'looked bad'. Like, damn, I'm sorry I volunteered for a 4 hour shift and the Workforce Management team saw fit to give me both 4 hour shifts to get an 8 hour shift? Not doing that anymore, I guess.

Played for about 2 hours today at the jello table. Despite pulling about a 75% winrate, I only gained enough bubs to compete at the next table ONCE, since every game ends in a retreat after turn 4 or 5 (which also just leads to lower quality matches). I subsequently lost at the next table and dropped an hours worth of progress. All the while, my reward track had progressed only a sliver.
This mode lures you in with the prospect of a free new card and easy rewards in the beginning. The idea is, once you've committed the time, you're much more likely to continue grinding to get the top rewards. Knowing this, SD of course makes the grind more and more tedious the more bubs you obtain.
Deadpool's Diner exists for one reason: lock players into a horrible grind and hope that they can empty the wallets of frustrated players who've just lost hours worth of progress to one Alioth, one Cosmo, one Shang-Chi, etc. The fact it costs $10 of gold just to attempt the next table is ridiculous.
I understand monetary decisions often come from people outside of the development team. But it seems like this mode has been carefully engineered to do nothing but produce as much money as possible for as little effort. I mean, it's not even new content. It's literally just the base game with some new art.
Here's to hoping this mode never returns, but the fact it ever existed gives me little faith in the future of this game.

It ties into my larger story Bloodless and Numb (which takes place in present time) about a Mentiphage parasite that hibernates under ground for 80 some odd years and then emerges, turning people into bloodthirsty insects. Anyway, my short is a prequel. It takes place in the same town but in 1940. It follows a new pastor and his bride that move to a small town in rural Illinois to run a church. They come in contact with the parasite and this shows, what in my larger novel, is called The Great Purge of 1940. I’m following this sub because I have written horror before, I haven’t tried extreme horror. I’ve read a few and think it’s gross fun. However, I saw a thread on here the other day of people asking about extreme horror without sexual assault. I have no plans to use that in my story. Never liked reading it and don’t really care to write it. I want to see what other things people deem off limits. Since I’m new to the genre, I figured I would ask it here. Any response would be appreciated.

NGD Trying something different… I’ve been playing more doom and slower metal lately. I have a few guitars tuned down to B standard and two at A standard but they don’t feel quite right at 25.5” (one is a 7 at 26.5”) even with the appropriate strings. Never really been a baritone person, but this guitar is an amazing baritone compromise. Very well designed and I’m loving the pickups so far. Definitely unique!

[Introduction]
In 2277 a Lone Wanderer hailing from vault 101 set out to destroy what remains of the enclave at the battle of Raven Rock. The enclave was turned on it's heels, retreating to Adams Airforce Base, however the Lone Wanderer would chase us down with the help of the BOS there as well destroying the air base. We were able to escape the mass execution of our brothers at the hands of the lone wanderer and his brotherhood of steel goons. We managed to gain some intel from a research member who has guided us to Chicago Illinois where there was supposed to be an Enclave Base. However it was wiped out leaving only us to reestablish the Enclave in the Chicago Great Lakes Wastes. Having just defeated the local raiders and militia, we have begun establishing ourselves.
[Different Unit Parts]
We are a semi Serious Chill Sim Unit, we like to use tactics and organization, but we will not yell at you.
We have multiple parts of the unit that work together to rebuild the United States. (You must have a good amount of time in infantry before joining another part of the unit.)
Infantry - The main fighting force
Logistics Section (RATS) - Our RAT Section provides logistical support, Indirect Fire Support, and Aviation Support for the unit. They also are incharge of our research tree, and decide on new equipment to research for the unit as a whole.
Armored (CLOSED) - The heavy support, our armored platoon provides direct fire support for the infantry on the group representing the second half of our unit.

I like to think that I'm a pretty chill person but honestly I just don't give a shit about what others do or say. I'm most definitely politically incorrect, I think talking politics and religion is idiotic and I don't know anything about TV after breaking bad ended so I don't know anything about TV other than when I get those 'you have to watch this' recommendations. I hate smalltalk but I'll do it just to survive random social encounters. Sarcasm and self-depreciating humor is my jam. I will judge you based on your tastes and interests and I will tell you about it not to ridicule you but to be honest with you. I don't talk emojis and quietly respect those that can both write and speak in full sentences. I am proud to say that I was never on board with online dating and still haven't gone down that route, unless this counts?
I'm that anti-social media, old school is best school, 'fine i'll do it myself', and 'they don't make em like they used to' kinda boomer millennial. I don't proclaim titles of things because I happen to enjoy them, I just been playing games and watching anime my entire life and I don't feel the need to make it my personality. It's probably more accurate to say that I have a love/hate relationship games and anime because the vocal minority and corporate greed makes it personal and end up ranting more than actually discussing. However with that said I can wholeheartedly claim that I have exquisite taste and like I said, I WILL judge your tastes whether you like it or not. I'm a mild techie, I don't follow every tech but I do like PCs, audio gear, sim gear, keyboards, and watches. Oh I'm also addicted to cars, it's terminal, good luck.
I don't want to say who or what I'm looking for because I'd rather let you decide if you feel like we could get along.
