I am developing library to support distributed and decentralized networks and communication, much like Libp2p but focusing more towards self healing and organising algorithms, with consensus mechanisms.

Reading about Riot dividing 2024 into 3 splits has to have its pros and cons. The cons are quite evident as players are burnt out to achieve their ranked goal for a 3rd time in one year. Riot's goal has to be to retain players and while attracting new ones... (hence Arcane). Businesses function to succeed so I don't think angry reddit comments like "Riot hates its player base" is a reason why they made it 3 splits instead of 2.
Why did they make it 3 splits? (Was it simply to lower the percentage of players in higher elo?)
Do you think they will go back to 2 splits?
I really liked 2 splits, it wasn't too much grinding, but also didn't let you stay content.

Switching over from the National Guard to active duty and heading to MEPS tomorrow.
I'm planning on staying active beyond an initial contract, but I'm not sure what contract length options will be available to me when it comes time to sign.
Aside from a potential signing bonuses, what are some pros/cons in choosing, for example, a 4-year contract over a 3-year, or a 3-year over a 5-year, etc.?
I'll take that sweet complimentary MEPS hotel dinner and a water.

Sometimes they help, but it’s not consistent, and I miss the days when sleep was effortless.
