Hi,
I just left an appointment with my psychiatrist feeling a bit concerned and confused about the treatment plan he outlined. I tried to push back and clarify, but he reiterated the following points, which don’t align with what I thought I understood:
1) Switching from Lexapro to Zoloft: I’ve been on Lexapro for about 7 years (10mg, increased to 15mg a few months ago). He said I don’t need to taper off Lexapro before starting Zoloft since it’s a direct SSRI replacement. I thought a cross-taper was typically required to minimize withdrawal or side effects. Is this accurate?
2) Starting Zoloft dosage: I expressed concerns about potential side effects with Zoloft and asked to start at 25mg, gradually increasing to 50mg and eventually 100mg. He told me there’s no point in starting at 25mg because it’s too low for my body to register, and I should begin with 50mg for a month. He didn’t seem concerned about side effects at all. Is starting low a common or reasonable approach?
3) Vyvanse for inattentive ADHD: He said Vyvanse takes about 2 weeks to start working and 2-3 months to determine if it’s effective. My understanding was that Vyvanse works almost immediately (like within hours) and you can usually tell if it’s helpful right away. Is this timeline typical?
I’d really appreciate any insights or experiences you can share. I plan to follow up with my psychiatrist if I decide to suggest adjustments to the treatment plan, but I’d like to be better informed before doing so.

I finally tallied up all the receipts and costs of the remodel shown in the linked post. This was a project I completed over 3 Summers (so approximately 16 months of intermittent weekend work).
Final tally came to slightly over $20k.
- 2k was for power tools I had to buy along the way
- 6k was wood (Cedar, joists and Subflooring.)
- 3k was doors and lighting
- 3k was Custom screens and install.

Det virker å være mye hemmelighold om Forsvaret og deres operasjoner. Etter mitt syn en svært lite gjennomsiktig organisasjon.
Hvorfor er det slik? Er det for at eksisterende makt skal opprettholde makta?
Og hvilke type operasjoner gjør Forsvaret? Med så lite åpenhet kan man begynne å spekulere i om de "slår ut" meningsmotstandere. Det er helt umulig å ettergå, men slike spørsmål hadde ikke vært der om organisasjonen var mer åpen.

 | Went to my 6 week post-op appt yesterday. Doctor is very pleased with my ROM progress. He cleared me for driving and active ROM with rotator cuff strengthening to start in 4 weeks. Yippee! His only stipulate was no pulling, pushing or lifting. My wonderful, caregiving hubby takes is role very seriously and is helping with the pecan pies. Normally in life, I’m a very animal-loving person. I hate to see animals being harmed personally or environmentally. However, when a pet annoys me, like begging for food or bothering me when I’m trying to sleep, I’m shadow possessed by a deep anger that can sometimes cause me to lash out and grab or smack or yell at the pet. Even if I try calming down with meditative exercises, if the stimulus is still there, I find myself getting angry again.
Is there any Jungian interpretation or strategy to help me transmute or otherwise deal with this anger?
