Hi Folks
TL;DR Which of these:
- CL19 / 4600MHz - 8.26ns
- CL16 / 3600MHz - 8.89ns
- CL14 / 3200MHz - 8.75ns
- Asrock H570 Phantom Gaming 4
- i5-10600K (running at 4.5GHz)
- 2x 8GiB CL13 / 2666
- 3060Ti (w/ 1440p screen)
Originally I've choosen the 2666MHz sticks because the native support from the CPU, but the MB says: "10th Gen Intel® Core™ Processors support DDR4 non-ECC, un-buffered memory up to 4666+(OC)" which made me reconsider this decision.
CL16/3600 is so much cheaper, that I could actually go for the 64GiB, although I'm not 100% sure I would feel the difference, BUT I remember when I updated my last tower to 32GiB+, I turned off the page file and it ran like a dream.
Games are mostly action/adventure/rpgs, 4x games and I do some amateur 2D/3D art.
QUESTIONS
- Would it even make sense to use any of these RAMs with the CPU spec? I read just enough to confuse myself. I assume(d) simply enabling XMP would enable higher frequency ops up to mobo supported MHz.
- Would any of the 3 RAM options benefit my setup more then the rest compared to the other two?
- Would be there any point going 64GiB? I'm already doubling capacity and everything runs great as long as Ray Tracing is not involved.
- Is there an alternative I didn't consider but would make more sense? (eg I dropped the quad channel idea because I would lose more than gain).

I saw somebody post a question relating to this game and PCSX2 but all they did was turn off MTVU and it worked for them. It's not the ISO itself because I've downloaded several others and none of them seem to work. The game starts, asks for memory card, shows the developer slides and then goes black for a bit until the music comes on. I've clicked buttons and know that the controls work because I can hear it enteexit menus and even begin the game but all while the screen is completely black. Help would be highly appreciated. I am using a Macbook Pro on Sequoia 15.1 with v2.3.39.

By my research, even if you buy a 4090 or 5090 like I want to, you can't possibly get more than 120 fps in 4k because of the hdmi/displayport connection???
WHAT?? IM SO CONFUSED. I SPEND 2400 ON A GPU AND I CANT EVEN USE ITS POTENTIAL BECAUSE OF A CONNECTION??? WHAT?? IT MAKES NO SENSE???

Complete devil's advocate post from someone with no bias or 'skin in the game' either way here. Just one, logically-thinking man, critically thinking and expressing his thoughts based on an observation.As the post is 2 days old and has almost 3,000 comments, mine will likely go unnoticed, so I thought I would post here.
Is it just me that sees this in the following way...
Musk is simply stating that law-breakers will be arrested - a completely based statement, in my opinion and, I am sure, the opinion of the vast majority of sane-thinking people.
I then see that Hasan states that Musk is threatening to arrest people - Clearly a completely false statement.
To me, this is what misinformation looks like.
It's truly fascinating to see how modern people on the internet react to such basically simple things.
As you can see, I felt the need to massively preface the post with context disclaimers....not that it would likely matter. The ideological / political folks would have knee-jerked my simple but logical thoughts into oblivion regardless.
I am surely not alone in feeling that the vast majority of people have zero ability to use logic and common sense anymore. Right...?
