2025.01.21 12:17 Lu_thejackass Tips for saying the T's and K's?
So I've started to learn some Finnish here and there I'm just learning it to yell at my Finnish friend xD)
I usually don't struggle with language pronunciations (I'm from the balkans, which means the letters aren't aspirated like in English) but for some reason the T's and K's (especially when they're repeated) can get...odd? I know where to place my tongue, but sometimes I put it too far back so I sound like I'm making a fake Indian accent 😆.
But for example there is 'Tutustua' and the repetitive Tu's get very weird to say (but it's funny!)
Sometimes the T's are too much of a D sound when it's supposed to be a D/T sound, but when I hear my friend say one word repeatedly for me in order to learn it, they switch from T and D? So it's not always D/T but one of the two? Same with hhe K's, they're both K's or G's OR G/K, which is fun to try and mimic when they also say it different 😆
I'm just curious if there are any good.. practices? For me to try and do in order to get the letters down! The H's I can manage, the Ä is a 50/50 but I'm working on it 😆
And I know people say that Finnish is hard, but honestly I prefer it over danish! Especially because of the R's!!! I love rolling my R's! It makes learning a language easier??? If that makes sense??? I dunno- I'm just learning the language to make fun of my friend, so far I'm doing alright! They're called Narttu on my phone 😆
I'm actually curious if the D/T sound for single T's is only in certain areas since Finland does have a lot of dialects? One of my friends parents is from a city 30 minutes away from Helsinki, and they say D/T, but I'm curious if some people say the single T's as if it's a double T? So a hard T? Instead of a D/T sound? D/T sound as in soft T
Though I was told that the T's are like the T in the word 'bat' in English, and the K's like the word 'Puck'
I'm new to the language and still learning, and most of the things I know are from my friend, their parent, and a friend of theirs and they all speak differently :') so my knowledge is from them so bare with me.

2025.01.21 12:17 kiroyapso2 Do you think its practical to collect every IR/SIR?
Initially I was planning on doing a living dex of 2 of the best illustrations (alt art, IR, SIR) per pokemon that I personally like, then I'm second guessing myself and wondering if i should just collect every illustration type card since it would probably take awhile for some pokemon to get an illustration (regular gengar, butterfree, metapod ect.) (for English at least).
I started in August and thought, "yeah I'll be spending abit since i just started and need to catch up", spent 27k lol only missing like 2 alt arts left (mega sableye and lillie).
How much would you say illustration type cards are made per year money wise? Was debating buying most of the smaller singles i was missing the other day and it still came up to $300 ish, wasn't sure if I wanted to buy the shrouded fable SIR since trio but it would complete my 2 per pokemon rule, or complete my collecting every card rule lol
I also try to only collect singles after the 6 month mark to try and get each card the cheapest they can be, but with pokemon releasing a set pretty much every month, i"ll have to start buying singles every month anyways once SS reaches the 6 month mark.
Should I just sell my collection while everything's up? Would make 4k if I sell individually vs all at once, would I regret it later? I especially like cards like the bubble mew I would see myself missing, or my eveelution vmaxes. Would also really like the new PE eveelutions once they go down.
It kind of feels like collecting pokemon cards with my rules makes it feel like I would have to avoid pretty much buying anything else (no more games, other hobbies, no eating out) since pokemon pumps out so many sets. I could take my time, but then if I did take my time, it seems like alot of cards double in price past the 6 months, then I would have to pay even more over time (bubble mew actually 3x the price that I first time i saw at 150 but sadly didn't fomo and bought at 230). So that could mean I technically could have paid 54k for the collection i have NOW if I say, bought these cards over the course of 5 years.
That's why I'm debating on selling everything so I'm less stressed lol
I'm not sure if I can even collect without doing a living dex at least, just feels wrong since im also doing a living dex in game 😂 (would also like to try and include different types for the same pokemon, vmax, terastrialized, shiny ect)

fiz 500 tutoriais no YouTube e nenhum adiantou. Um dizia pra apertar F8, F9 ou F10, o meu só mudou algo com o F9 e quando eu apertava, ele mudava pra reparação automática, depois a tela ficava toda preta e só com o cursor do mouse aparecendo. Tentei todos os comandos que vi em vídeos e nada deu certo, alguém sabe me dizer o que posso fazer?

2025.01.21 12:17 BodaciousDadBod One American's winter experience in St. Andrews
 | TL;DR: trip of a lifetime and I lucked out overall on the weather! Just wrapped up by first trip to the Home of golf. What an incredible experience! It really felt like I was in someone else's dream the entire time. It was surreal. My buddy and I had the privilege of buying their winter package. We got the email in July. It's three straight days of golf, which includes the Old course. I don't know if the courses are always the same, but our three were New, Jubilee, and Old in that order. I'd be happy to answer any questions about the particulars of booking everything else about the trip independently, but don't want to take up the post with superfluous information. Due to circumstances beyond my friend's control, he couldn't make it unfortunately. But I of course went. The first day of golf, I received an unfortunate email that the greenskeepers had deemed the previous week's frost still lingering too much, so all courses were closed. I called the reservations people and had them cancel my Jubilee tee time for day # two, and replace it with the New course, which they were able to accommodate. The Old course tee time was unaffected. So it only ended up being two days of golf. I'm only like 80% bummed about that, because it gave us time to explore the rest of St Andrews. My performance on the New course was pretty bad overall. Probably mostly nerves for the first half, then not having ever played under links conditions with 20 mph sustained winds. But it was sunny, and relatively warm for the season, so I can't complain. I did get a caddy both days, which was definitely a godsend the first time you play there, and would highly recommend it. I ended up having the entire tee time to myself for the Old course. That was kind of surreal. There was a foursome in front of me and a foursome behind me. But everyone seemed to be playing at a good speed, and I was able to take my time, looking around and taking in the sights, and getting into plenty of trouble off the tee that I had to linger a little longer to look for my ball lol. I scored a 90, which is about 3 to 5 strokes higher than my average. I'm a 14 handicap for reference. I did have six pars though! Including #1 and #18. But that rough can really screw you up off the tee, so my card was plagued with doubles and a triple. Best shot of the day was the tee shot on 17, freaking piped it directly over the corner of the hotel and landed center fairway. Conditions on that day were sunny, windy, and around 50° F.
