2025.01.21 14:08 Trevonino Question About Gum Gum Giant
So I've started playing the online sim after picking up ST-18 at my local walmart and wanting to learn the game. Watched some videos on how you can optimize the deck and saw that Gum Gum Giant is unanimously viewed as a must play four of and put that in my list. Just one weird problem, if I activate the card on the first attack my opponent makes on the sim they almost always quit the match. Like, without fail. Is it because the card is just "broken" or is it a very crude play to make so early? (I know some people quit out when I missplay enough that it's clear I'm new)

2025.01.21 14:08 Ms_MedicalMJCurious Medical marijuana and my employment.
Hey Redditors!
I just had some questions about medical marijuana and my employment. For some background, my job is video forensics and I work for a state agency. While the building could be considered a 'law enforcement ' building, I and others who work there are not law enforcement, but are just civilians working for the state. Being someone who processes video footage of crime (the worst of which being officer involved shootings, which can be VERY disturbing, homicides, and unfortunately child p***) I've noticed that I've been on somewhat edge recently (for example shootings or violence in TV or movies causes me some discomfort, and makes me visualize some of the graphic stuff I'm currently processing at work). I've never tried marijuana (I had to take a drug test, as well as a polygraph test to get this job) and medical marijuana is something I've been curious about. I also have some pretty annoying stomach issues, of which I've had no luck trying the many things the doctors have prescribed. I've contacted HR and they said that outside of a different law enforcement section, all other sections are permitted to use medical marijuana. The only issue is that though the other law enforcement agency is a different entity, we both do similar things and I'm wondering if she might've thought we are under their umbrella when we're not. I don't want to ask her about our section directly, as there are only 8 people working in our section and frankly, I don't trust HR to not tell my supervisors that someone has been sniffing around the idea. We do not random drug test, and I've spoken to two people in my branch (in small talk, making sure it didn't seem like I was interested) and both said they've never been drug tested after hire. One has worked there for ten years, the other twenty. At this point I've gotten my medical marijuana card (a laughably simple process) and don't really know where to go from here. While I doubt they'd fire me if I got some reason I were to be drug tested, I still am wondering if I would face repercussions even if HR did email me saying it's fine for every section other than 'x'. I wish I could ask my supervisors about it and just be honest, but they are law enforcement and still have very traditional views on marijuana, and I would not want to unnecessarily tarnish my good reputation. I know it was a long post, thank you for reading. Just looking for some ideas. Thanks everyone!

Hey all I'm new to this and just purchased this for my son. He's a big dolphins fan. I know this isn't the best card but would still like it protected when I give it to him. I think since it's a patch card they are thicker then normal cards. Could someone recommend a sleeve and hard case combo that can be purchased for relatively cheap that will keep this card protected? Thank you in advance, any and all advice is helpful since my son's are both getting interested in the hobby. Have a great day. submitted by abide_please to SportsCardCollecting [link] [comments] |

2025.01.21 14:08 ACE-299 Is this root rot? How do I battle it.
Hello everyone, my plants are sick at the moment. After looking closely, I noticed that the roots are more yellow/brow than before. The roots were generally a bit yellow - but according to the internet, this is due to the Canna Aqua fertilizer because it is red and therefore colors the roots? Whether that is true is another matter. In any case, I want to liven up the little ones again, but I don't really know how to deal with root rot. Problem: water too warm. My water temperature in the tank has been high for the last few weeks/days. On average between 23-25°C (74-77°F). Unfortunately, this is because I have underfloor heating and I can't turn it off individually for that area. I also have a large 110L (29 Gallon) tank, which is black (it wasn't available in white). I have temporarily put a layer of aluminum foil over it so that the tank doesn't heat up so much anymore, I still have to think of something to implement this. Do you think that is root rot that you can see in the picture? If so, how do I best combat it? There are 5 plants in the tank, all in the same nutrient solution and all have the same color roots. Symptoms of the plants are: black spots, twisted leaf tips, paleness (see pictures) Plant profile: Strain - Red Mandarine F1 & Red Hot Cookies, Phase - Growth week 7, Light - 2x HortiOne 592V2 400WC with 510PPFD, Fertilizer - Canna Aqua Vega A+B incl. Cannazym, EC - 1.3, PH - 6.0, Water temperature - 23°C (74°F), Humidity - 40% If you need more information, I can give you almost everything. Just got a call from Bank of America asking me to confirm my address and last 4 of my SSN
They said it was in response to a request they received and couldn't tell me what the request was unless I confirmed.
I googled both the phone number they called from and the phone number + extension they told me to call back at and nothing came up. Is there a better way to check?
I told them I hadn't submitted a request and they gave me the phone number and their hours in case I wanted to call back. After I hung up I remembered I did email the CEO a week or so ago asking them to remove a missed credit card payment, and apparently they do occasionally get back to you when you do this). But still want to make sure the call was legit before I did anything.
Thoughts?

2025.01.21 14:08 wotd1 Contemplating Life and Death: Exploring the Depths of Existence • [Click to Expand]
Beyond Mortality: Reflections on Life, Death, and What Lies Between Life is a curious phenomenon, isn't it? From the moment we're born, we're thrust into this world without a roadmap or a manual. We navigate through it, learning, growing, experiencing joy and pain along the way. Life is messy, unpredictable, and wonderfully complex. It's a journey filled with moments that shape us—moments of triumph and defeat, love and heartbreak, laughter and tears. But amidst this chaos of living, death looms as an inevitable certainty. It's the great equalizer, touching every living being regardless of status or wealth. Yet, despite its universality, death remains one of the most profound mysteries of human existence. What happens after we die? Do we simply cease to exist, or is there something more? As a kindergarten teacher, I've often been confronted with questions about life and death from young, curious minds. Children have an uncanny ability to ask the most profound questions with an innocence that is both humbling and inspiring. Once, a child asked me what happens to our dreams when we die. It struck me how even at such a tender age, they were contemplating the mysteries beyond our comprehension. Philosophers, theologians, and scientists have grappled with these questions for centuries, offering myriad perspectives and theories. Some see death as a natural part of the life cycle, necessary for renewal and evolution. Others view it through religious or spiritual lenses, believing in an afterlife or reincarnation. And then there are those who approach death from a scientific standpoint, seeking empirical explanations for what happens to consciousness after the body ceases to function. Personally, I find myself drawn to the intersection of these viewpoints—the idea that death is both an end and a beginning. It marks the culmination of our physical existence while possibly opening the door to something beyond our current understanding. It's a concept that requires us to confront our fears and embrace the unknown with a sense of curiosity rather than dread. In many ways, our attitudes towards death shape how we live our lives. The awareness of our mortality can either paralyze us with fear or motivate us to live more fully and authentically. It's a reminder to cherish each moment, to cultivate meaningful connections, and to pursue passions that ignite our souls. Reflecting on death also invites us to contemplate our legacy. What mark will we leave on the world? Will we be remembered for our kindness, our achievements, or the love we shared? These questions underscore the importance of living with intention and purpose, of striving to make a positive impact however small. In my own life, I've experienced loss that has profoundly shaped my perspective on death. The passing of loved ones has taught me that grief is a testament to the depth of our connections and the beauty of shared experiences. It's through loss that we appreciate the fleeting nature of life and the preciousness of each fleeting moment. Ultimately, the mystery of death reminds us of our shared humanity. It transcends cultural, religious, and philosophical divides, uniting us in a collective experience that spans civilizations and millennia. It's a reminder that we are all interconnected—bound together by the universal rhythms of birth, life, and death. So, what do we know about death? Perhaps not as much as we'd like to believe. But what we do know is that it invites us to explore the depths of existence, to contemplate our place in the cosmos, and to embrace the beauty and fragility of life itself. Life and death—they are intertwined in ways that defy simple explanation. From the moment we take our first breath to the inevitable exhale that marks our end, we are caught in a perpetual dance between existence and transcendence. What do we know about life? We know the tangible aspects—the beating of our hearts, the rush of emotions, the sensation of touch. Life is tangible and immediate, a series of experiences that shape our identities and perceptions. It's waking up to the sunrise, feeling the warmth of a loved one's embrace, tasting the sweetness of laughter. But life is also transient, fleeting—a delicate balance of joy and sorrow, triumph and loss. It's navigating the complexities of relationships, pursuing dreams with unwavering determination, and confronting our deepest fears and insecurities. Life is messy and beautiful, chaotic and serene—a tapestry woven from moments both mundane and extraordinary. And then there's death—an enigma that hovers on the horizon, casting a shadow over our mortal existence. What happens when we die? It's a question that has sparked countless debates and contemplations throughout history. Some believe in an afterlife—a continuation of consciousness beyond the physical realm. Others see death as the final chapter, a cessation of existence that returns us to the cosmic ether. As a kindergarten teacher, I've had the privilege of witnessing how children perceive life and death with a clarity that often eludes adults. Once, during a discussion about seasons, a child remarked, "Just like how flowers bloom and then go away, people are like that too, right?" Their innocent observation captured the essence of life's transience and the cyclical nature of existence. For me, death has been a companion—a silent observer that reminds me of the fragility of life and the impermanence of all things. It's through loss that I've come to appreciate the richness of human experience—the laughter shared with friends, the quiet moments of solitude, the lessons learned through adversity. Death challenges us to confront our fears and embrace the unknown with courage and curiosity. It's a reminder to live authentically, to pursue passions that ignite our souls, and to cultivate meaningful connections that transcend the boundaries of time and space. It's about leaving behind a legacy of love and compassion—a testament to the depth of our humanity. In the face of death, we are confronted with our own mortality—a humbling realization that transcends cultural, religious, and philosophical differences. It's a reminder that we are all interconnected—bound together by the universal rhythms of birth, life, and death. So, what do we know about life and death? Perhaps more than we realize. They are not opposing forces but complementary aspects of the human experience. They invite us to explore the depths of existence, to cherish each moment, and to embrace the beauty of our shared journey.
