For the past few months I have been experiencing seemingly random lag spikes while playing games that I previously didn't have any issues with. Granted, this is not a beefy machine, but I didn't experience problematic performance with my use cases on Arch or Debian so I'm thinking there's some issue with how I setup my Void system.
I mostly play games on Steam but this also happens with Lutris and Itch. It also happens with both native and Proton games. My system is curently on kernel 6.12 (I have the same performance with 6.1 or 6.6) and my firmware is up to date.

- CPU: Intel i5-7300U
- GPU: Intel HD 620
- RAM: 2x16GB DDR4 2666Mhz 1.2V
- Storage: NVMe SSD

Half joking, half serious. Why is it we can hear for months about how people can't afford groceries and Biden needs to be voted out for not doing something about it? Meanwhile, as soon as Trump gets into office, these same people who once said that the President can control egg prices are now saying that the President can't do anything.
How do we get these people to actually hold a consistent standard with both sides?

Also one strange question, now you have it would you consider having children still , given the fact they have 50% chance to inherit it.

Und zwar ist mir der Controller von einer LED-Lichterkette abgeraucht und ich würde diesen gerne ersetzen. Ich habe bisher rausgefunden, dass die Zuleitung (230v) an den beiden rechten Kontakten angeschlossen ist. Die beiden mittleren Kontakte sind mit den LEDs der Lichterkette verbunden und der linke Kontakt nur an der letzten LED der Lichterkette. Ich vermute der Controller hat den 230v Wechselstrom in xV Gleichstrom gewandelt und anschließend die LEDs betrieben. Very soon the Gulf of Mexico will be known by the entire world as the Gulf of America. This is a winning move on so many levels. At a time of geopolitical tensions, when America's economic lead over powerful and determined adversaries is diminishing, political nstitutions seem to be disorganized and civil infrastructure seems to be stuck in the 1980s, it says to the world that they are a fundamentally serious nation that cannot be underestimated. Diplomatically it says to friends and potential lies that they are so cool they don't need to give a f***. Culturally it enhances soft power by inviting respect.
America and Auckland have similarities. We also understand that the secret of greatness lies in knowing you are more awesome than them. And like America there are those who think we are arrogant walkers. Which simply proves we are correct in our self estimate because people only envy those who are better than themselves.
So I suggest we copy this winning move and rename the Hauraki Gulf to the Gulf of Auckland.

M30-35, convivente, no figli e non in programma.
Sto lavorando come dipendente dopo anni in freelancing, RAL 36k con prospettiva di aumento.
Ho ancora la partita Iva e di freelance fatturo più che dal mio lavoro principale (circa 60k all'anno).
Nonostante ciò, apprezzo molto il posto di lavoro in cui sono e mi appaga quello che faccio come dipendente. Oltre a darmi una certa stabilità.
Mi è stata di recente proposta un'opportunità in Partita Iva, 3,5k€ al mese per 12 mesi, per 4-5 ore al giorno di lavoro.
Per accettare dovrei mollare il mio lavoro attuale come dipendente. Avrei più tempo per vivere sereno ma anche meno certezze. Inoltre il lavoro proposto mi piacerebbe di meno del mio attuale.
Voi che fareste?

Hello, fellow gay peeps. I hope this doesn’t sound cheesy or anything, which, it probably does.
I (20M) have this guy in my class that I messaged last semester as he was in one of my classes previously. I also met him at a gay house party on campus when I was a freshman (I’m a junior for context). Things seem to be going ok, and we aren’t on bad terms or anything. However, I don’t know how to pursue things further.
He insinuated that I had a crush on him, which turned out to be true. I genuinely want to know what it is like to have a gay dating experience as I have never had a boyfriend before. When I sat next to him in class, he was unresponsive. We chatted it up for a brief second, and he decided to go about his day. We were messaging back and forth for a while, but then things stopped after December.
I don’t know how to respond. Should I continue staying in touch with him? Do you think it’s a good idea to try to make this into a relationship? I’m very bad at interpreting cues from others. Let me know what you think.

I'm sorry, I dont know if this is the right sub, but I just wanted to ask the question in the title.
Context: Live in a decent sized neigborhood that has a ton of cats. Some neighbor has a few collared outdoor cats, but a lot of them dont have collars and we keep finding new ones running around.
This winter has been the coldest one in a while and we have had snow multiple times (usually we don't get any), and I feel bad for the cats. When I see one and call it they run up to me shivering and begging for food/treats.
Is there something I could do like leaving out blankets in carboard boxes around my backyard? Heat lamp? Or anything else? I really dont want them to stay cold :(

She dumped me in 2024. When she ended everything my Babe wasn’t there. She was a whole different person. Just like in the Flora Cash song. She broke my heart. By now I feel better, I think I let her but tbh I forgot her as well, cannot recall her face or her smile. But I am still in pieces, depressed and lonely af. BUT today this idea came to my mind if I would get Babe back (not the monster who left me but my cute caring Baby) what would I do with her. I think I would take her to our McDonald’s, get some food and go to our place where we talked through the night in the car. I would hold her tight while listening to our songs and gazing the stars and cuz we can have one night only together I would like to fall asleep with her to not see as she goes away.
