Sorry for bad grammar and formatting. I'm posting this in spur of the moment and on mobile
So for a little backstory... I'm 18 currently, and as I grew up, my body has started to fall apart. I've been hypermobile entire life. I could bend and do things others couldn't, but it was mostly in my hips and shoulders when I was young, so it was never looked into. But now it's all hitting.
My ankles lost support first. I sprained both ankles in a span of less than 24 hours(I will share the story of how that happened if asked, but it's kind of sad so be prepared) when I was 15, and continued to sprain my right ankle and tear my ligaments over the next couple years. Now, I need to constantly wear an ankle brace and be super careful cause one more bad sprain, and my ligaments could snap- causing the rest of them could tear off leaving them totally disconnected. The ligaments in that ankle have already moved to an irregular spot because of how bad it is.
I've always had heart problems, ie dizziness, heart palpitations, loss of vision when standing, low blood pressure, ECT.. but I have had COVID 3 times, and it's just made my heart worse. I am on the brink of passing out constantly, and I pretty much didn't know what it's like to not have brain fog.
2 days ago I dislocated my left knee and tore my MCL in the process. I went to urgent care and they told me to not put any weight on it, but they couldn't tell how bad it was sprained/torn since X-rays don't really show ligaments that well?. Plus, they referred me to a specialist. But that means I can't walk around without crutches. I have to constantly be elevating my leg and putting ice on it and not walking around... It makes me feel so useless and lazy.
I'm just lost. My body seems like it hates me. I don't know how people live with disabilities that leave them unable to walk, but that seems to be the road I'm heading down now that this is all laid out in text like this. I was always told I should be grateful that my body was so strong, and that I would grow up to be a track star or something, so this just.. yikes. It's also smacking me in the face with my internalized abelism(ablism???) I don't go a day without calling myself lazy or saying that I deserve this somehow even when I try so hard to take care of myself.
Anyone else in the same boat?

 | I wanted to stick to something simple for my first mini. I aimed for an aged metal statue look. Iâm open to any critiques. I followed a blog that suggested dry brushing the acrylic. I finished off with a earth shade wash. Personally notice the highlights after the wash were deadened substantially. So I may have overwashed it. Also, is it normal to have my brush this damaged from dry brushing? Props to those who recognize what game the mini is from. Thanks in advance. So I'm posting this to see what others think and how they rule here. For the curious, have a link to Generic Fire Manipulation. There's a lot of text I'll be quoting directly. And for the sake of transparency; this is a jump in my LTJ chain (it's not tomorrow's), and I'm making personal rulings regarding some of the words, origin descriptions, and perk text. I'm just curious to hear what others think.
Okay so I'm gonna hit you with some quotes directly from the text. Let's do it.
Elementalist (200 CP, discounted if you already have an Elementalist origin): You gain power over Fire, Water, Air, and Earth as your choice of magic, psychic, or technological power set. All perks purchased in this jump are reduced to 50% of their normal capability and power, but they now affect all 4 of your elements.This is the base, verbatim, description of the elementalist origin.
Sorcerer (600 CP): Your ability to control the elements has improved to the point that youâre not just limited to the primary Fire, Water, Earth, and Air. You can now control Metal, Electricity, Ice, Blood, Gemstones, plasma, steam, and Plantlife with half the proficiency of your primary elements. If you are not an elementalist, you only gain access to the fire-related elements steam, plasma, and metal. In addition, youâre able to combine different elements to create secondary elements, and even tertiary elements should you have the elemental capabilities. All secondary and tertiary elements gain the effects of all perks of their components, and are additively powerful based on the power and control you have of all components.This is the capstone perk, and it's boosted version, for the elementalist origin.
Superior (Sorcerer, Capstone Boosted): Your fire-related powers and abilities are improved by your mastery of other elements. Youâve become so skilled with water, earth, and wind that you can now treat fire as any of them. All fire-related powers and abilities are now affected by all water, earth, and wind perks you have at 50% effectiveness. Also, any effect that would lessen the effect of other perks, powers, or abilities is removed, including the Elementalistâs 50% reduction in effectiveness from all perks in this document and other Element Series documents, allowing them to gain the full effect of all of these perks for all 4 primary elements.
Pact of Pyre (600 CP): Youâre now connected to an omnipresent eldritch god of fire and ash. It empowers you, granting you 100% more power to all of your fire abilities. In addition to this, your fire now counts as eldritch, optionally burning away the sanity of all who see it besides yourself. The Pyre now counts as a God for the purposes of any abilities you have which require a God or Worship to use, and all religion-related, divine-related, and charisma powers and perks are empowered by 100% so long as you are near a large source of fire. This god cares for you (insofar as an eldritch god can care) and will occasionally intervene to assist you in unexpected (and sometimes unwanted) ways. It also likes giving you (probably extremely dangerous and deadly) gifts to reward you for⌠some reason. If you donât want a questionably evil god following you through your adventures, you may instead gain these benefits without anything joining you on your chain.This is the capstone perk for The Pyre origin, a sort of... baby warlock origin in the same jump. With just what I've shared here, sans any other context, can you predict the sort of silliness someone can get up to? I think I can. And I want to hear your insights.
So the way I read the synergies between Elementalist, Superior, and Pact of Pyre is quite beefy. In my reading, the "The Pyre now counts as a God for the purposes of any abilities you have which require a God or Worship to use, and all religion-related, divine-related, and charisma powers and perks are empowered by 100% so long as you are near a large source of fire." text is especially interesting. In my reading, all of your charisma perks and powers are empowered by 100% so long as you are near a source of a lot of one of the four classical elements. Which is neat. With this reading you can be underwater and you can benefit from this. You can be in a cave and benefit from this. If you want to be EXTREMELY silly, if you are near "a large amount of oxygen" you can benefit from this.
Beyond that, even if you think I'm wrong about the large source of insert x element here bit, I think it's a logical reading to say that Pact of Pyre for a Superior Elementalist, doubles the effectiveness of your elemental abilities as per Superior's last sentence and PoP's second sentence. "Also, any effect that would lessen the effect of other perks, powers, or abilities is removed, including the Elementalistâs 50% reduction in effectiveness from all perks in this document and other Element Series documents, allowing them to gain the full effect of all of these perks for all 4 primary elements." and "It empowers you, granting you 100% more power to all of your fire abilities." This means that Pact of Pyre is especially powerful for jumpers who seek to become powerful avatars, especially if you want to become an avatar WITHOUT visiting ATLA or one of its associated jumps. What do you think?

So as title states I am a 35 year old married male (of 13 years). My wife and I have 3 children, and I read Fourth Wing.
My wife is very astute, quiet, and by most accounts a very reserved and easy going person. More importantly for the context of my current dilemma, she is a passionate reader. I myself have quite a few hobbies, I would feel more than comfortable saying reading is her only one.
I have always been very catering to her hobby, as she is with my plethora of time consumers. I knew how excited she was for Onyx Storm so I decided to make it special. I pre ordered her a limited addition. Found child care for the midnight release, did my research on theories, etc. Then I decided I would read my first book since middle school so that we could talk about it.
As for the book, I really enjoyed it! The plot, the dragons, everything is bad ass and well delivered. Only slight negative for me would be every time Violet sees Xaden. It would take me a few minutes to get over what I perceived as very corny, teenage lust. But I would chuckle and continue on. Then I get to the first sex scene. It was, for a novice reader like me, a very graphic and detailed scene. It took me by surprise that my wife would enjoy books with this in it. I made the mistake of mentioning how the scene made me feel a little filthy, the same kind of shame I would feel closing my browser after watching even surface level porn(of which I have quit all together). BOY did that not go over well. She points to her bookshelf, filled with the likes of ACOTAR, 50 shades of Grey and Coleen Hoover, etc and states, âthatâs nothing compared to all of my other books.â
The more I thought about it I realized my potential inadequacies. âIf she can read this stuff and enjoy it, obvious by the increase amount of sex during her reading spurts, is there a side of her that Iâm incapable of bringing out â? We have always had a good sex life, if a little vanilla. Frequent, and fulfilling though. I brought this up to her and she dismisses it, saying itâs just a book and I need to get over it. She then says I have ruined the book and reading in general for her, saying she now feels awkward both reading the book and in the bedroom. She even packed her books up and put them in the attic the next morning. Extremely out of character for her. Iâve messed up big time. Regardless of my thoughts on the book, I took her only passion away from her. In hindsight I unfairly poked and prodded the book in an effort to strip away her pleasure of reading it. The second I realized thatâs exactly what Iâve done I felt knots in my stomach realizing I may have just done something I canât come back from. Anyways, I go for a drive and sleep on the couch. Driven by guilt and genuine remorse, I devise a plan to apologize. After all, although itâs a little fishy that every single one of her 100+ books include sex, she says itâs not why she reads that genre. So I have to believe her. So plan in motion, she leaves to take her mom home from an elective minor surgery. I decide to set her books back up on her bookshelf, light candles, but her a reading pillow, purchase her book lamp she has been wanting, turn on onyx storm ambience on YouTube, leave an opened bottle of wine and empty glass by her nook, and lastly I buy her the âviolent little thingâ notebook from Target. I write her a nice note and leave it, along with her half read Onyx Storm book right there ready for her to read when she gets back. I leave a trail of flower petals from the kitchen to the bedroom and take the kids out for dinner. Later that night I hesitantly initiate sex and tell her that she can feel awkward everywhere else, but in this bed, with me, is her safe haven.
Iâm still struggling with my thoughts and I feel guilty to even do so, regardless of my desires to put them aside. I know that everyone reads differently but in general, what do women think of when they are reading a detailed, steamy sex scene?

Aloitin uuden harrastuksen muutama kuukausi sen jälkeen, kun olin eronnut edellisestä kumppanistani. Erosta siis nyt hieman yli puolivuotta.
Nyt olen harrastanut lajia (en halua kertoa mistä lajista on kyse, sillä piirit ovat pienet ja en halua ottaa riskejä että kaverini saisi kuulla asiasta) n. kolme kuukautta ja saanut sieltä paljon uusia kavereita, joista jokainen on ollut erittäin tervetullut elämääni.
Ennen harrastuksen aloittamista ihailin näistä kavereistani yhden suorituksia somesta, ja kun menin kokeilukerralle tunnistin hänet heti kasvotusten. Se oli hieman sellainen fangirl moment, mutta osasin onneksi hillitä itseni. Aluksi ajattelin, että meistä ei todellakaan tule kavereita, sillä hän oli silmissäni niin siisti ja huikea, mutta lopulta huomasin kuinka lähennyimme ja hän lopulta itse totesi olevansa iloinen, että olemme kavereita.
Nyt tässä viimeisen kuluneen kuukauden aikana olen alkanut pohtimaan jotakin, joka järkyttää ja pelottaa minua: Taidan olla ihastunut häneen! Joka kerta kun näen hänet hymyilen kuin aurinko, jokainen viesti häneltä saa sydämeni innostumaan, joka kerta kun olemme parina olen ihan ääriäni myÜten onnellinen ja nyt huomaan ajattelevani häntä usein pitkin päivää.
Normaalisti tällaisesta varmaan tulisi nauttia, mutta kun tiedän, ettei meistä tule koskaan mitään. Elämämme ovat ihan erilaiset ja en usko olevani lainkaan hänen tyyppiään. En voi selittää tilannetta tarkemmin ilman, että joku osaisi yhdistää langat, joten perusteluni sille miksi me emme parina toimisi jäävät nyt aika surkeiksi, mutta jos jokin niin se on vain yksinkertaisesti varmaa, että meistä ei tule mitään kavereja kummempaa.
Toinen kaverini sanoi, että ihastukseni voi johtua siitä, että olen pitkästä aikaa lĂśytänyt kivan harrastuksen ja saanut sieltä sitä lempeyttä joka minulta on usein jäänyt saamatta, joten mie alitajuisesti saatan tavallaan sotkea ystävyyden ja ihastumisen... Ja BY GOD mie toivon että asia olisi näin, mutta kun en tiedä!!! Tällä logiikalla pitäishän miun sit tuntea tällaista muitakin uusia kavereitani kohtaan, eikĂś vain? Vai mitä? Jooko...? Oon ihan hukassa! đ
Miten pääsisin eroon näistä tunteista? Pahin on, kun meillä on pieni reissu tulossa tässä lähiaikoina porukalla, jossa hänkin on mukana, niin en tiedä miten päin olla... Apua??? đ
