I was diagnosed in September 2024, and Ive been obsessed with this since then. It became one of the first traits of my self identity and I manage to link everything with it and get a sad tint over everything just over a condition that physically doesnt really affect me much.
I have never disclosed to anyone and it seems so far for me the moment where I will be ready for it or even to feel I even crave for connection. Right now I basically avoid guys so I domt have to face this problem.
And here is my problem. I read most people saying that whoever doesnt want you for this, is due to stigma and lack of educattion on this matter.
But i have spend hours and hours researching on this. I know all the encouraging data, i know transmission rates, how it is supposed not to be a big deal, i know everything, and yet, if i wouldnt have hsv2, and i met someone who has it, i would probably wont be willing to go ahead with them, because despite the encouraging prospects, there is always a risk of contracting it so why to expose myself to something like that for someone Inlike but barely know?
Despite education on the topic, still i don’t get convinced and I don’t expect anyone to accept a risk when yes, it is hard to pass on if you take daily antivirals, supplements and protection. But it is also not guaranteed not to pass it despite all that.
Even if they are ok with it, i still don’t accept toc put someone at risk even if they accept ir. Even if chances are low. Even if its not a big deal.
I feel like one of those judgmental people who stigmatise HSV except I have it myself and I cannot change my mind despite research, information and all.
Were u ever in this mindset before and who did you overcome? I feel i will close every door and miss a fulfilling life just because i cannot change the way i think :(

2025.01.23 22:43 Learningbydoing101 Please help! We have a highly sensitive (HSP) ISFJ pre-teen and she has severe sleep problems due to excessive Si rumination in the evening. We need suggestions from you ISFJs!
Our daughter is almost 10 and is struggling with sleeping problems massively.
Now, even Alice-in-Wonderland-Syndrome has developed (seeing things bigger and/or smaller than they actually are.)
I, Mom, am an ESFP and her dad is an INFJ.
We tried:
- Meditation (breathing)
- Relaxation techniques (muscle relaxation, imaginative travels)
- slight music
- noise (red and green)
- a purring plushie (next to the 100+ plushies she also has in her bed)
- Excessively talking about her feelings
- keeping a very stable routine (have done this since her birth)
- movement "therapy" with dancing, taking walks, collecting stones (she loves collecting them)
- better drinking habits - lots of more water
- she has a dark room because she wants it that way, directly next to us (very small house)
Anyway, she did a very good meditation with my hubby this evening and was very tired. We told her that this is the state her body is actually in and she needs time to rest.
She went to bed with a yawny face and we did the night rituals as always. It was 7.30 pm (I hope I get the times right, 19.30 in Germany).
Half an hour later she calls that she can't sleep. She tells she sees all those images from past stuff (insignificant stuff and usually things we have already talked about and feeled-through excessively) and those make her feel bad. Its imagined stuff too in there. We tried the same relaxation with her for an hour or so, breathing techniques in a very gentle, loving and calm way , everything.
Nothing helps.
At the end she is so exhausted from sleep deprivation that she arouses herself on her emotions and isnjust wmotionally overwhelmed.
She is also high sensitive so there is that.
Until we find a therapist, please help:
- do you experience the same emotional rumination at the end of the day?
- what do you do about it?
- is this normal? How long does this usually go for you?
- what do you do to come out of it?

2025.01.23 22:43 gttlol Tô desolado. Acabei de descobrir que minha pré matrícula USP foi cancelada.
Eu envieei todos os documentos possíveis e conferi o edital várias e digo MUITAS VEZES mesmo, e selecionei e envieei todos os documentos necessários, declarações digitais e a punho, porém como fui descobrir por email (agora) tinha um problema. Mesmo eu enviando a declaração de E.M cursado integralmente em escola públicas formatado direitinho, eles não aceitaram nem a carta a mão e nem o digital que fiz. Fui informado que era necessário papel timbrado com um carimbo". GENTE porquê pedem algo que as escolas(pelo menos a minha) NÃO TEM DISPONÍVEL no início de ano (histórico escolacomprovação de ensino médio feito em escola pública,ou pq ao menos não deram a opção de mostrar depois... é tão simples de provar, só precisava de tempo, acabei o E.M agora. Estou muito triste, muito mesmo nem sei o que dizer para minha família que comemorou eu ter passado na USP.
