Im going to buy a new pc but i notice that the new one im gonna get have a 4k screen, and i was wondering If I run games in 1080p would there be artifacts or in general would the game look bad because of the difference in resolutions? if anyone has an answer I would appreciate it.
PS: my question is because I doubt that the laptop I'm going to buy can run all games in 4k.

2025.01.24 05:30 derp_trooper Alacritty, Chromium application window glitch
I am facing a strange issue after recent updates, I updated a lot of packages at once so I am not sure what is causing it. I am on XFCE.
1) Alacritty: I type something on the terminal, nothing appears. However, when I resize the window of the terminal suddenly all the text I typed appears. Now on this resized terminal window when I type nothing appears, however when I resize again the text I now typed appears. I have tried to launch with alacritty -vvv however I get nothing useful.
2) Chromium: Same issue, when I type something in the url bar nothing appears when I resize all the text I typed appears. And so on. There is also a drop down menu from the url that seems to stay frozen for each resize.
I am also facing issue on skanpage which seems to be constantly flickering, resizing helps update the info in the application.
I am not facing any issue on firefox or xfce4-terminal. I have tried to use the LTS kernel, it didn't make any difference. I also installed gnome concurrently with XFCE and this issue is there in gnome for me also.
How do I go about fixing it?

with normal birth control they have the placebo pill or sugar pill at the end of the pack. opill doesn’t have that, should i be taking breaks at the end of the packs ? or do i just start up a new pack? i’ve been taking it for almost 3 months now and haven’t taken a break but i’m coming to the end of month 2 pack and i’m curious. i’m considering stopping the pill after i finish month 3 because ive already purchased it because im not a fan of the side effects. When I was a little girl I went through sleep paralysis. It was the most horrifying thing I had ever experienced, and I developed a strong fear of dying in my sleep. I was terrified to sleep for years, there are even times today when I’m scared to sleep. (Although it is rare)
What helped me sleep again was this prayer I made up. “God, please do not let anyone die in their sleep tonight, unless they are really really really old and it is their time to go.”
Now that I’m an adult, I still love this prayer, however it feels very juvenile. Can anyone help me make this prayer more “mature” or proper?
